We been staying at casa dorado every time we vacation in Baja! We love it so much we even got married at the resort and now going back to celebrate our 10yr anniversary! We had 12 tribes cater our reception and just love everything about this resort. It's a must when you are visiting Cabo!

After copious homework, I chose the Casa Dorada, on Medano Beach, as my resort, for 4 nights in Cabo. The resort has mesmerizing views of the beach and ocean. While my double bed room (cheaper than a king), had a partial but nice view of the pool and the ocean, they could have done a better job, on the welcome front. While the room comes with two water bottles, it is free only for the first night. After that, there will be replacements, but be aware, they will charge you exorbitantly, if you use them. There is a coffee maker in the room. Instructions are incomplete and I ruined my first and only coffee filter. Sure there are replacements, but be on alert, you will have to pay extra if you consume. This is something I have never seen before. Hard to decipher if they are stingy or cheap. It was not clearly explained by the front desk on checking in. I found out only through room service. Other amenities were sufficient. The bed was small, I almost fell off it one time. Don't touch the mini bar, unless you want to sell your shoes (and some clothes), before leaving. The property has several dining options. I ate at Maydan and 12 Tribes. Both were good, with commendable customer service. Not sure if 12 Tribes is actually, "fine" dining. I have reviewed both these dining destinations, separately on this platform. I utilized the beach chairs and towels, briefly on one day. Also took a dip in the pool. Front desk staff were superb (Carlos, Andres and many more). Concierge service staff (Manuel and Francisco) were welcoming and friendly. What disturbed me most was another concierge component, Wild Canyon (a tour group), who were responsible for my snorkeling with Rancho Tours and administered from Casa Dorada. It was a bad experience. In short, they dropped me off to snorkel, but did not come to pick me up at the scheduled time. If not for my repeated interventions and requests to Oscar (a helper who was on the beach), I would not have been picked up. Oscar kept calling them, to send another boat, that finally came (after much coaxing). Another problem here is how they don't honor the bank exchange rate. While the bank rate was around 18.5 Mexican pesos to a US dollar, they use around 16.5 to a dollar. So, be careful if you accept the tempting US dollar charge when paying any bill. Instead, charge everything to your room. Then when the final bill shows up at check out, insist and pay by credit card, in the local currency. This way, you will get the bank rate immediately and it will be way less US dollars. Another note. When I booked my room on line it said total price. Actually, it is not, because there is an additional 30% in taxes that is added, and that is the real final price for your booking. And one more caution, in general. There is a 16% food tax, all over Cabo, that is generally included in the price for every menu choice. When they suggest a tip, they don't subtract the tax (very few separate these figures on the check). Why would you tip on the tax? It goes to the government. So be careful. Always pay in the local currency. They are never excited about it, but that's the way you have to do it, if you value your wallet.

Joel, also known as Joe at the pool, gave us outstanding service today, Saturday July 12th 2025. He was so friendly, fast, and efficient. We only had day passes, but we would stay here at the resort on vacation because he gave such amazing service. His vibe was positive and his service was amazing! Thank you so much for having us. We are grateful.

We went down last week with 18 friends from San Diego. Majority of the group stayed next door and a smaller group including myself booked Casa Dorado because it was priced better with better reviews This hotel is 5 stars from beginning to end. I am definitely picky coming from California and I was blown away at the attention to detail, cleanliness and overall how nice everyone was. The food was really good (esp the breakfast) and this hotel is the best bang for your buck right in the middle of all the action. The spa is also killer with sauna, steam, hot tub and cold plunge! Thank you Miriam and staff

We came here for lunch and the beach as part of a tour. It was a bit of a steep hike down to this location and it's very tight squeezed and packed. It was u believably hot with no air flow. The restaurant was not very good. Bad service. The food was mediocre at best and higher prices than most places in the US. I'd advise not coming here. They only had one bathroom stall for the whole place. The place is crawling with beggars and people trying to sell you stuff. The drinks were decent, but I ended up getting sick from something.

I booked numerous services at the spa and had planned I would spend the day with hopefully the ability to eat and take a break by the pool. My services started at 10 and I specifically booked 80 minute massage and circled my areas I wanted extra attention to (shoulders, neck and calf's) hmmmmmm what do I say besides that paper didn't matter she focused on whatever she wanted. Meaning she found some tight spots on my mid back those got a lot of her attention. So much it was tender to touch afterwards. She also had a difficult time to massage from the top of my back down to lower meaning when she leaned forward her mid section would press my head/face into the head rest. Lets just say I didn't fall asleep or relax when I was face down due to her over attention on my upper back and the suffocating from my head being pressed down into the head rest. The other fun part was the moving wall that my lady moved numerous times. I lost count of how many times she stopped the massage and had to move the wall. The other best part was right when the massage started someone opened the door without knocking just come on in. I also added on the scalp massage, scrub, reflexology and mini facial! A grand total of 2 hours and 35 minutes on the same table with the same person. I drank a bunch of water prior to since I knew I was getting all my toxins out. Well you can guess I wanted to get down to use the restroom. After laying for all that time I was given 30 minutes to use the restroom shower and use the facilities to be in the salon for my wash and blow out. Well I sat and took the pics! It's very clean 100% the staff is on it. Let's move onto the wash and blow out, the same girl that did all my services was doing my hair also! The BOWL was hella uncomfortable so much so I had to hold my neck and pick it up numerous times. (Thus why I asked for massage on it) No massage just wash the hair and let's get done. She applied some hair oil and started the blow out she asked if I wanted round brush or curls I said round brush and it started out with it then she just started curling it all with a curling iron. I'm not sure why I also wanted to be done because I was frustrated with the amount of money I was spending and I wasn't getting anything that I asked for. The one thing they did allow was my husband was golfing and I had asked if he could come in use the shower and change so we could do dinner. We didn't stay down in the marina area. They allowed him to use the facility without charging us, but I also spent $500 at their spa. So bottom line I didn't think my girl was a hair stylist, aesthetician, and a massage therapist! But she did them all soooooo that's what I got for $500. A girl that did it all and most likely trained on the job The reason I gave 3 stars

Just stayed at the Casa Dorada for 8 nights we booked the one bedroom penthouse and cannot recommend enough. The views were incredible and having a hot tub out on the terrace was incredible for coming back to in the evening. The views were absolutely incredible of the beaches, arch and had some of the most incredible sunrises each morning. The location is great walkable and feels very safe for some of the must see/do in Cabo. About a 10 minute walk to the marina and has some incredible restaurants near by. The hotel is set on one of the only swimmable parts of the beach and huge reason why we decided to book. The grounds are extremely well kept, pool areas clean and ready to go each morning. The pool is kept at the perfect temperature and the swim up bar and pool side service was terrific. Everyone was extremely attentive and constantly checking in on if we needed anything. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet and pool side nachos. Our room was spacious and well kept, housekeeping was incredible and made sure we had waters and towels fully stocked each day. An extra special touch was turn down service each night. You can't ask for better service every single member of the staff was incredible so warm welcoming and friendly. Truly sad to be leaving but we cannot wait to visit again soon.

My family had a wonderful time at Casa Dorada. We had been to Cabo once before but stayed at a hotel further away from the Marina, restaurants and bars. The location was great! Our journey started with Paula checking us in and setting us up in a great room on the 5th floor. Everyday Emilio would greet me with a smile and towel for the beach chairs. Be aware that the hotel has an agreement with Carnival Cruises. A few times during the week, people would descend on the beach. Several of the hotel's beach chairs are saved for cruise ship travelers. The hotel suite was perfect for 3 people. Walmart is close by so I was able to pick up food for the room and cook breakfast and lunch in the room. The hotel could have done a better job with cooking supplies. It would have been nice for them to provide water to drink, too, given the price of the rooms.

The hotel was beautiful, well kept and amazing view on 6th floor. This is a secure hotel which makes it nice from not having outsiders inside. Checkin was a solid 5 star along with breakfast at the Maydan with impeccable service from waitress to chef. In regard to 12 Tribes / El Rincón, it took over an hour to get meal along with pizza for our daughter and sides were cold. Because the hotel manager was so great, I didn't feel it was fair to lower the rating but had to note that I would not come to that restaurant as there are too many amazing restaurants for dinner within walking distance. The cleaning service was solid and very hospitable. The spa is a luxury experience and I would recommend at least once with amazing staff. Anyone giving below 3 star even with issues are not looking at the overall amenities, location and condition of hotel. Thank you for an amazing manager for giving 5 star treatment.

Location is everything! I want to first give a big thank you to the valet guys, Raul/Caesar/Manuel!! It was our pleasure seeing them day and night when we would arrive back from being out/about. We rented a car to drive to different cities, and the guys mentioned above took good care of our valet needs. We spent 4 nights at this resort. I have read a lot of reviews here about Timeshare, we were never approached about that on the property, but outside the resort, we were approached several times and declined with a firm no thank you! Everyone we encountered on the resort property was very nice and helpful to answer any questions. Initially, our request was for a room on the 4th floor or above, but nothing was available on those floors. Still, our room ended up being very nice! We stayed on the 3rd floor with a great view and very comfortable spacious suite (see pics). In our king suite, there was a full refrigerator inside the kitchen that was full of beverages to purchase. There are also a few bottles of alcohol, snacks, that are also there for purchase. If you want to eat off property, there are so many fine dining restaurants that are reservations only that are in walking distance and a couple of mini mart stores. The beach is also swimmable from here and that's a big plus! The views from both our balconies were amazing every day. We really enjoyed everything.

We were denied sushi minutes before sushi came out for another table and the waiter's service was extremely poor. Not only were our food and drinks not delivered in a timely manner, but many of the menu options advertised on the menu were not made available to us. As a matter of fact, some of the servers were overtly rude. We were openly ignored by the resort staff, and Daniel, a waiter at the resorts restaurant, is the worst waiter we have ever had. If you are unlucky enough to have Daniel as a waiter we recommend you leave the establishment immediately. If you are staying at Casa Dorada, consider eating elsewhere for a late night dinner because frankly this is a poverty establishment. P.S. - They serve tap water, and it tastes horrible P.S. again - The octopus is terrible

We stayed at a 3 bedroom villa and the week flew by. The rooms were spacious, well kept, clean, and stocked with everything you need. We had our own private plunge pool to soak in whenever we wanted to. You are greeted upon arrival with a welcome drink and they gifted the kids an adorable sugar turtle cookie when we departed! They offer sample drinks and popsicles at the pools. Their attention to detail is flawless and everything is well thought out. The resort has an adults only pool, a family infinite pool overlooking the ocean, and another swallow kids pool. Plenty of lounge chairs and was never too busy. The food was fantastic from the poolside kitchen to the on site property restaurants to the private chefs. Honestly some of the best food I've had in my life. The spa is world class and I highly recommend it. We had some of the best nail service, massages, and facials ever. Everyone is well trained and very skilled and experienced in their area of expertise. They have complimentary golf carts that take you anywhere on the property and we never had to wait for one. Everyone is so friendly, inviting, and professional. I truly appreciated everyone's hospitality and warmth. The best part was our private butler who cooked our meals, arranged all activities and transportation off the property, did laundry, and even found our missing shoes that flew across the resort! lol. This year we were in a large one bedroom "garden view" villa in Building 1 (1104A) - which actually had a view of the pool and ocean. It was on the 1st floor, right next to the small pool, and just steps down to the ping pong table, which was certainly convenient, but not very private, and during theme nights, like the Mexican dancing, it was really loud to hear them pounding their feet on the wooden stage, but it was fine overall. Still love the activities - Aqua bingo, movie trivia, ping pong tournament. This year we rented a car, which we made use of almost every day for grocery runs, hikes and day trips. Planned to go to La Paz to swim with the whale sharks, but the dock was closed due to high winds, so we drove up to Todos Santos - our daughter went on a hike/run on the beautiful Cerro Punta Lobos trail, and we walked the peaceful beach near the boutique Hotel San Cristobal, then shopping, matcha lattes and taco stand in Todos Santos (couldn't get a last-minute reservation at Jazamango). Then on New Year's Eve, we did the Forcado 5K by the San Jose del Cabo Marina, and my older daughter came in 1st place of all the women! Hoping they do this again next year. Food and drinks are fresh and tasty - liked the eggs benedict, and nachos are always great. Favorite drinks are still the margaritas (traditional, mango and guava) and mojitos (with whatever berries are fresh). Did the timeshare presentation for some resort credit, and it was fine -- not too informative, not always accurate, but not too high pressure. Already booked our room for next year, and looking forward to it!

The food was consistently good, and the Lazy River is definitely the standout feature and biggest selling point of the property. The rooms and grounds were well maintained, making for an enjoyable stay overall. That said, there were a few areas where the experience fell short. Pool service was inconsistent, and there often seemed to be a shortage of pool towels. Entertainment options were limited, and with only three restaurants on-site, dining choices felt somewhat restricted. Of the three, Latitud 23.5 was by far the best and the one we found ourselves returning to most often. Guests should also be prepared for a fairly aggressive timeshare presentation pitch. Additionally, the advertised complimentary 45-minute massage per room for direct online bookings appeared to be more of a marketing gimmick, as multiple staff members seemed unaware of the promotion during our stay. While we had a pleasant experience overall, we're likely to try a different resort next year. The Lazy River was the highlight, but the overall experience wasn't quite enough to bring us back.

Great los cabos location on the marina near and walking distance too all the local Bars restaurants and small clubs not far from the Famous Cabo Wabo, check in was easy. The place layout is akard you have go too several elevators and stairs to get from the rooms to the the larger pool and some of the restaurant's. all was good until i requested some amenities to surprise my wife on her Birthday while we went on an excursion,i spoke with front desk and another associate from the planning events desk, when we returned nothing was done i was sadly disappointed because nothing was done they give several excuses. the the lead event coordinator give me a dinner upgrade it was appreciated but memories will never be recovered. Last i was convince on attending a so call presentation for hyatt hotel benefits actually its a time share pressure presentation,we declined because it was very expensive when i was trying to return to my room when a women approached us presenting us with a so call Hayat certicate a 5 day four night stay and airport transportation included for $1669.00 all i had to do was call a 800 number and reserve before 90 days? soon as returned i called the number from UNLIMTED CLUB VACATION and they said everything the associate told me was incorrect that i would have to attend another timeshare presentation or had to pay more money if I wanted to return on this so called certricate?and my $1669 is Now non refundable and I am out of luck , I have called the HOTEL but they have not replied or help me like they said they would , so I here figuring ways to get my refund.

Oh my. I'll break it down. Short and succinct: -This place…read moreis for young adult party seekers. - nice hotel, strange layout. Adults only. Be sure to get the tour. Signage is non existent. Provided map is vague. - Food: Well let's just say Mexico has its own interpretation of familiar dishes you see on the menus. Don't expect to get exactly what you think you will get. I.e: curry shrimp-no curry, pad Thai was beef stroganoff. We tried many restaurants and food was mediocre at best. If you are a foodie you most likely will not like the quality of food. -Be mindful and careful about additional charges. I.e: Restaurants charge for bottles of wine. These are not inclusive. And are priced 3-4 times their usual cost. -Rooms clean, nice , maid service was good. Thumbs up to that - Pools: There are 2. Infinity pool on beach side- Extremely loud bebop and rap music. There is also a smaller infinity pool bldg 1: nice quiet calm pool. There are service attendants at both pools. Be sure to tip them. The guys at the beach pool seem very focused on the pool bed renters and tend to ignore the older white guys like me sitting at the periphery. - When at either pool be sure to ask attendant how to order food. The attendants are not good at informing guests of their conveniences. All inclusive beverages: This one was frustrating. I could not get a good drink for my life anywhere in the hotel. Booze was absolutely watered or thinned down somehow . A martini was mostly vermouth --yuk! I finally only ordered wine...thinking you can't fuck up a glass of wine. Although I thought hard how they might try :) Conclusion: Avoid all inclusive hotels. Instead enjoy the local cuisine. There were plenty of authentic eateries around this hotel in Cabo. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The sky pool here is one of my favorite places to visit, the vibes are immaculate and the views are stunning. Windy enough usually to keep you cool but still feel warm. This property sits at the side of hill, which affords you stunning views of the Pacific. Our room was thankfully not too far from the lobby, which is convenient if you don't feel like going in the golf cart. As we checked in, I was not amazed by the suite that we got. The view is the greatest highlight of the room but everything else leaves much to be desired. Cons Hotel room decor is minimal and outdated. Barely any outlets, I had to move the nightstand to get to the one outlet that's next to the bed. One of the outlets in the bathroom wasn't working. Walls in the toilet room need to be wiped down. Mildew noted in the shower. Vent needed some cleaning. Shower water wasn't too hot and the bathroom sink was dripping. Bed is hard and pillows are flat. Meat and cheese platter via room service. This wasn't the greatest. Barely any bread and the turkey was deli meat. WiFi is super slow!!!!! Pros - The views are stunning! Customer service around the property is pretty good. Drinks at the wedding were delicious. Loved that they handed out foam glow sticks at the reception. Golf carts come pretty regularly to take you to your destination. Shuttle service available to and from the airport. I enjoyed myself at the wedding reception and food was decent although the Chicken Provençal was a bit dry. There was also barely dressing on the salad. Property is beautiful but I wouldn't stay here again since the price point is not worth the suite that we stayed at.

The farm is vast and beautiful with several experiences and buildings including vegetable stands, gifts, boutique shopping, ice cream cart, craft area, cooking classes etc. We were sat under the canopy area, just far enough from the live band to enjoy conversations but close enough to hear the music in the background. They were incredible by the way. All hits from various decades. There was also a nice Happy Anniversary sign waiting for us at the table. We had several staff members attending to our table and they were all excellent. Very friendly, kind. Very attentive and never left us waiting for service. We brought our own wine so there was a fairly steep corkage fee. Just keep That in mind if you want to bring your favorite wine. For the table we ordered the burrata which tasted so fresh and bright. Two at the table ordered the woodfired sea-bass which included cauliflower, capers, lemon and aioli. My husband and friend said it was absolutely the best seabass they had ever eaten. I ordered a vegetarian pasta which was amazing. Full of flavor. A bit spicy which I enjoy. After dinner we strolled the property to take in the beautiful sites. We can't wait to come back to explore more of the property when we come back to San Juan Del Cabo.
