We just had our wedding at Casa Dorada in April 04 2026. We had family and friends staying here for an entire week. We heard nothing but raving reviews from our guests about the rooms and cleanliness of the entire resort. I already had family and friends asking when we can come back for our anniversaries lol. Now for our wedding: The planning through Casa Dorada's wedding coordinator, Katherine Anaya, was seamless and so easy. I can't express enough how amazing she was to handle everything for my husband and I since we are from California. The location of the resort is perfectly on the beach with nearby bars and restaurants. Yes you can hear the music from the bars but it stops at 9:30/10pm. Didn't hear any complaints from any of ours guests (ages 25-83). The wedding ceremony and reception was at the 12 Tribes Terrace and they really transformed the atmosphere to be exactly how I envisioned the wedding! If you're hesitant about doing a destination wedding in Cabo, I researched about 20 resorts and landed on Casa Dorada because of the value, location and how beautiful the resort looks. We are so happy with how our wedding came out and how amazing the staff is at this resort. We want to highlight our amazing wedding planner (through the resort) Katherine Anaya who handled everything for us and made sure the whole wedding experience was stress free and seamless for us. Her first impression through email with me truly made me feel her hospitality and kindness. Meeting her in person for our pre-wedding trip January 2026 just solidified that we have an amazing person helping create our wedding vision and bring it to life! She even went as far as having a custom wedding slideshow playing in our hotel room that had our pictures from our wedding website. The attention to detail Katherine gives is beyond what I could've ever imagined from anyone! Another person I want to mention was Rene at the 12 Tribes Restaurant. We met him during our pre-wedding trip and he handled everything with ease for our signature His/Her drinks and our food tasting samples. Right away his great hospitality and kind spirit could immediately be seen and felt. For our wedding in April 2026, Rene remembered us and gave nothing short of excellent service during our entire wedding week when we saw him or ate at the 12 Tribes restaurant. Rene was actually a server during our wedding and was making sure everything was going smoothly and made sure we felt at home. Two more people who are worth mentioning: Heriberto at the swim-up bar and Michele at the B Bar. Two awesome people who love what they do. They remembered us each time we came back to them. They remembered our drink orders and truly made us feel like family there. If you're thinking about a wedding at Casa Dorada, my advice to you is do it and you won't regret it. I was not safe at the hotel, and the manager was horrible to me. I saw a man speaking viciously to his date at the table next to me. She left in tears. I spoke to him and told him he should be nicer. He was drunk and decided to hit on me, which is insane. I kept saying, no, you need to be nicer to your girlfriend. He kept pushing me. He decided he wouldn't take no for an answer after I told him I didn't want to be hit on or talk to him. He became increasingly aggressive. I tried to keep de-escalating. He told me that we WOULD get to know each other. He pushed his phone to me with his Instagram. It was full of pictures of naked women. I went to the host desk. I smiled, so I wouldn't upset him further. I kept smiling and told them I needed him to go away. He came up behind me. They called hotel security, who quickly came over. The man (Ryan) left with his bottle of wine. Security escorted me to my room. I saw him waving from the balcony of a room above mine, very near. I asked to be moved. I was frightened. They changed my room, but I did not sleep the entire night. The next morning, I spoke to the manager, Francisco Escuer. He told me: "I watched the tape, you were talking to the man and smiling. You smiled at the host stand. Why were you smiling if you were asking for help to get away from that guy?" I said, "Because he was coming after me, and that's what women do, so we don't aggravate men we know are dangerous." He said, "Well, his girlfriend didn't report anything." Again, I said: "Women don't report abusers because they are not believed, just like you are not believing me." Escuer also screamed at me and accused me of recording our conversation. He made physical gestures toward me during this. I told him I needed the tape, his information and the hotel's information. He refused to give me anything and yelled at me. I had to check out, pay for that stay, and another hotel. Escuer/the hotel are not safe for women. read more

2024 Our first time here. A good friend had a time share and wasn't using it so it was offered to us for a week. It was a beach front unit, 3rd floor with spectacular views. Master bedroom, king size bed, shower and jacuzzi, 2 queen beds in the next room with a bath, separate mini kitchen, huge living room, dining room and a full size kitchen. A pull out sofa bed in the living room. You could have 8 people here but we were only 2. We had dinner at the 12 Tribes restaurant almost daily. Nice presentation but the taste was average. A staff recommended Gardenias which was a 15 minute walk, they serve great tacos. Walmart is a 15 min walk away. On our 2nd day I fell on my way out of a shopping center. I thought I just pulled a muscle but was in terrible pain. My husband asked the front desk for a sling which they gladly provided. They also advised that there is a hotel Dr. on call if needed. I said I'll be fine and will decide later. My husband researched on the Internet about going to the ER in Cabo, they ask for your passport, give you all kinds of unnecessary tests, etc. and demand cash. I declined, I'll just get checked in the US. I thought it was just a sprain but my chest and arm turned black and blue. When I got back to the US I actually tore my rotator cuff and was on PT for 3 months. Not to mention it was Spring Break in Cabo filled with US college students. The music was blaring from 10 am til 11 pm non stop! Present day 2026 No spring break on our 2nd visit here so it was a chill vacation for us, not going to any tours. Stayed at the same unit and our daughter tagged along. We had 3 days of massage at the Medano Massage next door and opted to try restaurants outside recommended by staff and Yelp and used Uber. They had fireworks next door but not every night as before. Had fun watching people on the beach and all the water activities from our balcony and playing cards. Service was excellent as usual. Great place to stay, lots of places to eat but shopping is about 20 min walk away. Next time if offered to us again, I let my kids go with their spouses. read more

We had an overall fantastic 3 night stay at Casa Dorada. Staff members went above and beyond, the facility and rooms were clean, and the amenities were top notch. We had the pleasure of kicking back by the pool as well as easily accessing the beach. We arrived at the hotel around 12pm on a Thursday. They couldn't get us a room until after 3pm, which was when the true check-in time was. It was honestly fine as we posted up in the business office next door and did a bit of work until 3pm. Though our room wasn't exactly ready by 3pm (we had to wait an extra 20 minutes past the hour), the front desk staff members continuously checked on us and called housekeeping on our behalf to get a status on the room. I came to find out that part of the reason why our room took so long was because our front desk receptionist upgrade us from the junior suite I initially booked to a baller apartment. I can't emphasize enough how awesome our room was. We had a corner location that was massive. We had 1 king bed with a private balcony, a sleeper sofa in a complete living room with its own giant balcony (both balconies had a view of the pool and beach), a full kitchen with a dining room table, my own vanity space outside of the bathroom where I could get ready, and a jacuzzi. There was more than enough storage and closet space. Overall customer service was great during our entire stay. From the front desk to the bartending and wait staff to housekeeping and to spa staff, everyone was friendly and treated us with the utmost respect and care. I decided to add all-inclusive when I checked in. I believe it was usually $250 a person per night, but I was informed that they were having a sale of $125 per person per night. This was ultimately was worth it for us since I know that alcohol could rack up really quickly. Aside from premium drinks and food, everything was included, and we got an additional discount off our spa services. I believe we tried all the restaurants that the hotel had to offer. The food was fine. I enjoyed mostly everything I ate. I would go as far as saying that Maydan's chilquiles, pizza from Trattoria Medano, and the special taco night from 12 Tribes were highlight meals of my trip. We had a couples' massage from Saltwater Spa and were very happy with the appointment. The massage therapists were highly professional and did a great job of catering to a relaxing experience. We did an 50-minute Swedish + 25-minute scalp massage. The only negative I can think of about the resort was that their internet was choppy. read more

After copious homework, I chose the Casa Dorada, on Medano Beach, as my resort, for 4 nights in Cabo. The resort has mesmerizing views of the beach and ocean. While my double bed room (cheaper than a king), had a partial but nice view of the pool and the ocean, they could have done a better job, on the welcome front. While the room comes with two water bottles, it is free only for the first night. After that, there will be replacements, but be aware, they will charge you exorbitantly, if you use them. There is a coffee maker in the room. Instructions are incomplete and I ruined my first and only coffee filter. Sure there are replacements, but be on alert, you will have to pay extra if you consume. This is something I have never seen before. Hard to decipher if they are stingy or cheap. It was not clearly explained by the front desk on checking in. I found out only through room service. Other amenities were sufficient. The bed was small, I almost fell off it one time. Don't touch the mini bar, unless you want to sell your shoes (and some clothes), before leaving. The property has several dining options. I ate at Maydan and 12 Tribes. Both were good, with commendable customer service. Not sure if 12 Tribes is actually, "fine" dining. I have reviewed both these dining destinations, separately on this platform. I utilized the beach chairs and towels, briefly on one day. Also took a dip in the pool. Front desk staff were superb (Carlos, Andres and many more). Concierge service staff (Manuel and Francisco) were welcoming and friendly. What disturbed me most was another concierge component, Wild Canyon (a tour group), who were responsible for my snorkeling with Rancho Tours and administered from Casa Dorada. It was a bad experience. In short, they dropped me off to snorkel, but did not come to pick me up at the scheduled time. If not for my repeated interventions and requests to Oscar (a helper who was on the beach), I would not have been picked up. Oscar kept calling them, to send another boat, that finally came (after much coaxing). Another problem here is how they don't honor the bank exchange rate. While the bank rate was around 18.5 Mexican pesos to a US dollar, they use around 16.5 to a dollar. So, be careful if you accept the tempting US dollar charge when paying any bill. Instead, charge everything to your room. Then when the final bill shows up at check out, insist and pay by credit card, in the local currency. This way, you will get the bank rate immediately and it will be way less US dollars. Another note. When I booked my room on line it said total price. Actually, it is not, because there is an additional 30% in taxes that is added, and that is the real final price for your booking. And one more caution, in general. There is a 16% food tax, all over Cabo, that is generally included in the price for every menu choice. When they suggest a tip, they don't subtract the tax (very few separate these figures on the check). Why would you tip on the tax? It goes to the government. So be careful. Always pay in the local currency. They are never excited about it, but that's the way you have to do it, if you value your wallet. read more

Great staff. Very friendly, very helpful. Great location. Near the marina, but quiet and private. Easy access to lots of things near by. I got an upgrade to a suite which was well appointed, clean and had a full kitchen. Price was great for the room and property. I also got breakfast buffet included, which was impressive spread as well, right on the beach with indoor and outdoor tables. I also tried sushi here which was very good. Pool and pool bar was great. Bartender was amazing. Check in process was pretty quick. A/C was cold. Curtains did a great job of making it dark in the room. Sundries open until 9pm was helpful. Valet guys were awesome with my rented scooter, and the scooter was delivered to the hotel. I'd come back for sure. This is my 4th time in Cabo and first time at this hotel. read more

We went down last week with 18 friends from San Diego. Majority of the group stayed next door and a smaller group including myself booked Casa Dorado because it was priced better with better reviews This hotel is 5 stars from beginning to end. I am definitely picky coming from California and I was blown away at the attention to detail, cleanliness and overall how nice everyone was. The food was really good (esp the breakfast) and this hotel is the best bang for your buck right in the middle of all the action. The spa is also killer with sauna, steam, hot tub and cold plunge! I feel they were very under staffed this visit. Sad because we usually get 5 star treatment. They need to change their policy on saving chairs by the pool. People put towels down at 8 in the morning and don't come to use them till 3 in the afternoon. Meanwhile waiters are losing money and guests have no seats. read more

We came here for lunch and the beach as part of a tour. It was a bit of a steep hike down to this location and it's very tight squeezed and packed. It was u believably hot with no air flow. The restaurant was not very good. Bad service. The food was mediocre at best and higher prices than most places in the US. I'd advise not coming here. They only had one bathroom stall for the whole place. The place is crawling with beggars and people trying to sell you stuff. I booked numerous services at the spa and had planned I would spend the day with hopefully the ability to eat and take a break by the pool. My services started at 10 and I specifically booked 80 minute massage and circled my areas I wanted extra attention to (shoulders, neck and calf's) hmmmmmm what do I say besides that paper didn't matter she focused on whatever she wanted. Meaning she found some tight spots on my mid back those got a lot of her attention. So much it was tender to touch afterwards. She also had a difficult time to massage from the top of my back down to lower meaning when she leaned forward her mid section would press my head/face into the head rest. Lets just say I didn't fall asleep or relax when I was face down due to her over attention on my upper back and the suffocating from my head being pressed down into the head rest. The other fun part was the moving wall that my lady moved numerous times. I lost count of how many times she stopped the massage and had to move the wall. The other best part was right when the massage started someone opened the door without knocking just come on in. I also added on the scalp massage, scrub, reflexology and mini facial! A grand total of 2 hours and 35 minutes on the same table with the same person. I drank a bunch of water prior to since I knew I was getting all my toxins out. Well you can guess I wanted to get down to use the restroom. After laying for all that time I was given 30 minutes to use the restroom shower and use the facilities to be in the salon for my wash and blow out. Well I sat and took the pics! It's very clean 100% the staff is on it. Let's move onto the wash and blow out, the same girl that did all my services was doing my hair also! The BOWL was hella uncomfortable so much so I had to hold my neck and pick it up numerous times. (Thus why I asked for massage on it) No massage just wash the hair and let's get done. She applied some hair oil and started the blow out she asked if I wanted round brush or curls I said round brush and it started out with it then she just started curling it all with a curling iron. I'm not sure why I also wanted to be done because I was frustrated with the amount of money I was spending and I wasn't getting anything that I asked for. The one thing they did allow was my husband was golfing and I had asked if he could come in use the shower and change so we could do dinner. We didn't stay down in the marina area. They allowed him to use the facility without charging us, but I also spent $500 at their spa. So bottom line I didn't think my girl was a hair stylist, aesthetician, and a massage therapist! The staff was excellent; specially Jesus at the beach. The room was nice and spacious and clean. The only reason I booked staying at this resort was the fact that you could swim at the beach. Needless to say, on Saturday July 13th, we went down to the beach around 8:00 a.m. and it was nice and peaceful. Then around 11:00 a.m. it became a chaotic seen. People from a Carnival Cruise liner that had docked near the hotel came and took over the entire beach. There were at least 200 people who rented umbrellas and sat right in front of the entire section of the hotels beach. It was so bad, that we couldn't even pass through them to swim in the ocean. I complained to the staff and they said that they could not do anything because beyond the roped off section for the hotel is considered public beach. It was so unbearable, that we left and went back to our room. Due to this, I WOULD NEVER GO BACK. The following day, we had some people come and do the same thing again. I am sure this hotel is loosing a lot money and guests due to this problem. And to top it off, Saturday and Sunday, they had private parties and the music was blasted until 11:00 p.m. and cold not sleep until it was over. read more

The hotel was beautiful, well kept and amazing view on 6th floor. This is a secure hotel which makes it nice from not having outsiders inside. Checkin was a solid 5 star along with breakfast at the Maydan with impeccable service from waitress to chef. In regard to 12 Tribes / El Rincón, it took over an hour to get meal along with pizza for our daughter and sides were cold. Because the hotel manager was so great, I didn't feel it was fair to lower the rating but had to note that I would not come to that restaurant as there are too many amazing restaurants for dinner within walking distance. The cleaning service was solid and very hospitable. The spa is a luxury experience and I would recommend at least once with amazing staff. Anyone giving below 3 star even with issues are not looking at the overall amenities, location and condition of hotel. Thank you for an amazing manager for giving 5 star treatment. read more

Just stayed at the Casa Dorada for 8 nights we booked the one bedroom penthouse and cannot recommend enough. The views were incredible and having a hot tub out on the terrace was incredible for coming back to in the evening. The views were absolutely incredible of the beaches, arch and had some of the most incredible sunrises each morning. The location is great walkable and feels very safe for some of the must see/do in Cabo. About a 10 minute walk to the marina and has some incredible restaurants near by. The hotel is set on one of the only swimmable parts of the beach and huge reason why we decided to book. The grounds are extremely well kept, pool areas clean and ready to go each morning. The pool is kept at the perfect temperature and the swim up bar and pool side service was terrific. Everyone was extremely attentive and constantly checking in on if we needed anything. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet and pool side nachos. Our room was spacious and well kept, housekeeping was incredible and made sure we had waters and towels fully stocked each day. An extra special touch was turn down service each night. You can't ask for better service every single member of the staff was incredible so warm welcoming and friendly. Truly sad to be leaving but we cannot wait to visit again soon. read more

My family had a wonderful time at Casa Dorada. We had been to Cabo once before but stayed at a hotel further away from the Marina, restaurants and bars. The location was great! Our journey started with Paula checking us in and setting us up in a great room on the 5th floor. Everyday Emilio would greet me with a smile and towel for the beach chairs. Be aware that the hotel has an agreement with Carnival Cruises. A few times during the week, people would descend on the beach. Several of the hotel's beach chairs are saved for cruise ship travelers. The hotel suite was perfect for 3 people. Walmart is close by so I was able to pick up food for the room and cook breakfast and lunch in the room. The hotel could have done a better job with cooking supplies. It would have been nice for them to provide water to drink, too, given the price of the rooms. read more

Location is everything! I want to first give a big thank you to the valet guys, Raul/Caesar/Manuel!! It was our pleasure seeing them day and night when we would arrive back from being out/about. We rented a car to drive to different cities, and the guys mentioned above took good care of our valet needs. We spent 4 nights at this resort. I have read a lot of reviews here about Timeshare, we were never approached about that on the property, but outside the resort, we were approached several times and declined with a firm no thank you! Everyone we encountered on the resort property was very nice and helpful to answer any questions. Initially, our request was for a room on the 4th floor or above, but nothing was available on those floors. Still, our room ended up being very nice! We stayed on the 3rd floor with a great view and very comfortable spacious suite (see pics). In our king suite, there was a full refrigerator inside the kitchen that was full of beverages to purchase. There are also a few bottles of alcohol, snacks, that are also there for purchase. If you want to eat off property, there are so many fine dining restaurants that are reservations only that are in walking distance and a couple of mini mart stores. The beach is also swimmable from here and that's a big plus! The views from both our balconies were amazing every day. We really enjoyed everything. read more

Rating: Not Worth the Hype--Some Serious Issues Stayed at Casa Dorada for a friend's vow renewal and really wanted to love it--but honestly, I can't recommend it. Pros: Beautiful views Central location if you like being near the party scene Emilio at the pool and Johan at Maydan were wonderful--great service from both Cons: Room was missing basic amenities like a robe and slippers (had to request them) Broken lock on terrace door--needed a repair Super lax security. Tour groups from cruise ships wandered through the property multiple days, and I was barely ever asked for proof I was a guest. A friend of mine had a terrifying experience--she was walked in on naked by a male housekeeper. No warning, no apology, just a promise that housekeeping wouldn't return. That's not hospitality--it's negligence. Food was just okay. Overall, it didn't live up to expectations and definitely didn't feel like a secure or well-managed resort. read more

We were denied sushi minutes before sushi came out for another table and the waiter's service was extremely poor. Not only were our food and drinks not delivered in a timely manner, but many of the menu options advertised on the menu were not made available to us. As a matter of fact, some of the servers were overtly rude. We were openly ignored by the resort staff, and Daniel, a waiter at the resorts restaurant, is the worst waiter we have ever had. If you are unlucky enough to have Daniel as a waiter we recommend you leave the establishment immediately. If you are staying at Casa Dorada, consider eating elsewhere for a late night dinner because frankly this is a poverty establishment. Stayed here for a bachelorette trip. When we got to the resort, we were stunned by the view. Ocean view as you enter! Checking in was easy breezy, no problems there. Originally I had the room shared with 3 other people, but they cancelled, so I had the room all to myself. I booked a junior suite with a king bed. Honestly, I had no expectations on the room. I stayed in numerous suites before and they all have been on the smaller size. I was surprised when I went to the room. So spacious! The decor was minimal but modern. I can't complain on the balcony view. I stayed for 3 days while the rest of the group stayed for 5, so I didn't get to check out all the amenities. We had dinner at one of the restaurants called 12 tribes. I'll have a separate review for that. We hung out at the pool. Water was warm, so if you're not a fan of swimming in cold water, you would like swimming at their pools. Pool hours are from 8a-10p. Apparently there's a couple of rules that we were not aware of regarding the pool area. Any chairs with towels are taken or reserved. Mind you the towels were neatly folded on top of the chairs, so it didn't looked like they were taken. There were pools designated for families. There were no signs of any of these rules. You'll see the pool hours and towel service hours on the key card holder. Most people are not going to thoroughly read that or even look at it. There was no gift shop. You would have to venture outside of the hotel to shop for souvenirs. Shopping mall and the marina are close by. There's also a Walmart and Costco nearby as well. We opted to not do all-inclusive because we thought we were going to spend most of our time outside the hotel. After I left, the rest of the group spent more time at the hotel than expected. Expected the unexpected folks! Make sure to get all-inclusive because this place is expensive. When you add everything up, you'll end up spending more even when you're with a group. read more

We had an early arrival into Cabo and paid for early check in, glad we did. We had a short wait and were upgraded from Jr. Suite Ocean View AI to a one-bedroom suite ocean view, talk about spectacular! Simply marvelous room with views, wow the ocean views!! Only downside was AI didn't kick in until 3pm, luckily, we had some beverages in the room and a couple drink tickets given to us upon check in from the time share rep. Surprised there weren't robes available in this room and no dish soap available in the kitchenette. This room had a lot of storage like the most I've every seen definitely a bonus! Sadly we didn't use the enormous tub during our stay, maybe next time! My favorites: Corner room with wrap around balcony, fireworks every night, beach club-beachfront chairs, mimosas every day, top notch service, Gym opened at 6am We had terrific service on the beach - many thanks to Jesus, Daniel, and Mauricio! They work hard and especially hard when the cruise ships come in - as the beach club opens up to non-resort patrons. Eleazar, the lifeguard, every early morning was out checking out the ocean and getting set up for the day. He also participates in the lifeguard tournaments! I nicknamed him red man, as he is decked out and red and easy to spot. Appreciated Eleazar reminding the beach vendors to stay behind the roped off area, which happened multiple times throughout the day! Breakfast servers: Lorenzo and Blanca de la Torre took great care of us to begin our day out right. Blanca made sure my husband's birthday began with all the servers singing him happy birthday. Such a special touch. We enjoyed the food and I loved their sushi! The only downside for the evening is that 12 Tribes was never open for the duration of our 4-night stay, the only option was the B Bar. Great location. The beach is beautiful and swimmable. I felt very safe and was able to leave my stuff on my chair to go for a swim and not be worried that it would get stolen. This is not something common in other areas of Mexico. The staff at the hotel is fantastic! Service is top notch. The rooms are very large and AC worked well. I was given a room right next to the lobby and I was surprised that it was quiet. I got great sleep. The water in the pool was almost jacuzzi temperature. Not refreshing at all, I'm talking 105*F / 40C. The breakfast was decent but like everything in Cabo, totally overpriced for what it is. On the last day we found a huge puddle on the hallway between the bathroom and the tub, it turned out to be the ceiling leaking. I called the front desk just to let them know since I was leaving anyway but it seems this is not the only time it has happened as I just saw another review mentioning the same issue. read more

Our go to spot in Cabo! Excellent location and walkable to restaurants and the marina. Highlights: Happy hour twice a day! Heirberto makes the BEST strawberry margaritas and makes everything more fun! Plenty of lounge chairs and full drink and food service on the beach. Chema will take excellent care of you and will always be smiling! Housekeeping is top notch. Don't remember our lady's name, but she noticed I was using napkins as coffee filters and left us some the next day. It's the little things! Fitness center is so clean and has a wonderful assortment of equipment. Don't miss the chicken quesadilla. How do they make chicken breast so juicy?! We always meet fun new friends! read more

It is a great place today. All of the staff is amazing. But I want to give a special shout out to Heriberto the bartender at the pool. He makes amazing drinks and is a very nice guy. He made our chip! Also Chema the towel/beach chair setup guy was very kind and always made our time at the beach comfortable and enjoyable. My wife and I enjoyed an excellent, short stay at Casa Dorada. Overall, if you value large, clean rooms with an excellent view and great service, strongly consider this Playa Medano hotel. Pros: -All rooms are suites and even our base junior suite felt spacious. The room included a kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, drip coffee machine, Nespresso, and 2 burner stove, and cooking equipment if you want to prepare your own meals. - View from our room was fantastic even from the 4th floor. -Clean with frequent housekeeping (including turndown service) -Location is directly on Medano Beach and easily walkable to downtown with numerous bars, restaurants, and shops -Roped off private beach area with complimentary loungers -Rates are reasonable for the area and class of accommodation (email them to see if you can get a better deal than posted online or if they can add breakfast in) -Breakfast buffet at Maydan was excellent. Items were switched out every day to keep things fresh -Speedy check in and response times from staff Cons: -In room coffee is limited to one complimentary Nespresso pod for your whole stay. This felt a little cheap -Prices for food and beverage are steep -Slight upsell pressure at the beginning of the stay -Noise from adjacent bars/properties can be an issue. Truth be told... as other owners have written, the Casa Dorada experience is one to be weary of, and by zero means ever purchase a timeshare there. This is the review I never wanted to write but it needs to be told. My Mom bought the timeshare in 2009 or so, one of the early adopters, and over the past 13+ years we have been able to use our "floating" week less than a half dozen times. Yes, when you buy the promise is investing in vacation, but once you're in well good luck actually using the timeshare. It is important to acknowledge the people who work at the resort have always been great, but the policies and availability of the resort are such its simply not worth it. Further, when dealing with GBS (the timeshare manager) they could not care less about helping you find time or use the weeks. If you are going to stay at Casa Dorada, get a room online as you will be able to get the dates and room type you like. The location is convenient, and walking distance to tons of attractions and restaurants, but you are unable to have guests visit and well... read on. We own a 1 BR Suite, but as mentioned, it's rarely available to use as an owner, but I can get the room easily nearly anytime online. If you're a number cruncher, here is some simple math: Over the period of 13 years we have paid over $35,000 for the use of a handful of weeks. Yup, that's right, works out to a cost of just over $1000 per night. Initial payment, special assessments, annual maintenance... it all adds up, and if you could actually enjoy the property it wouldn't be a big deal, but when every attempt to make a reservation is met with no inventory while simultaneously seeing online there are plenty of rooms well, you see how this works? Do yourself a favor, avoid Casa Dorada timeshares all together, its the ULTIMATE bait and switch and there are far better options out there. Still don't believe me, ok, wait, there's more!!! On top of not releasing rooms for owners, the resort frequently sells day passes to people on cruise ships stopped into Cabo for the day! That's right, during Covid, hundreds of people from the floating petrie dish would come to the resort and use the pool and beach alongside Casa Dorada guests... See how this works now? My husband and I booked this trip for my birthday. I am giving 4 stars because the room we booked was not available with an ocean view. Their site needs to be changed. The description says "Junior Suite with terrace with beautiful views of the sea..." and upon arrival the view was not as described. It was on the first floor with a view of grass, it was dark, and zero ocean view. This caused a delay. However, Jose A did upgrade us to an executive suite at no additional cost with a much better view. Thank you Jose for your understanding when I expressed my frustration. The pool bartender Rafael along with the other staff members at the pool were wonderful. They were kind, funny, and made our experience enjoyable while we soaked up the sun. Blanca was our server for the breakfast buffet and she was also very attentive. During our stay a woman suffered a seizure of some sort and Miguel, including myself and other staff members flew into action to help her. Overall, those who were accommodating and respectful made our stay much better, despite the room situation. Thank you once again to those who were patient and very kind! read more

You want to request a room on the 4th floor and above . We stayed in room 327 and didn't have the best beach view and closer to ME cabo so you def hear the music from their non stop pool party. We upgraded to the 6th floor (room 627). Amazing views and didn't hear too much music from ME cabo. Room - spacious , clean , updated and comfy bed . Huge patio to hang out Pool- they have an adults only section (by swim up bar) which was nice as we came without children. There's 3 restaurants on the premises. Sushi Bar - 'Favorite Maki' roll was fresh , tuna on top was delicious and sauces added a limey kick to it . Side of wasabi, fresh ginger and soy sauce . I honestly wasn't expecting this to be good but I was proved wrong and looking forward to ordering it again. Maydan- Bfast restaurant located at the bottom as if your heading to the beach . You either order a la carte or go with bfast buffet. Great selection ! I loved my omelette, oatmeal, Mexican pastries, fruit and fresh squeezed green juice. 12 tribes upstairs restaurant - great green enchiladas for lunch, amazing lobster tail for dinner. Easy access to Medano beach . When you walk out by beach access you have a great massage place and Omega restaurant had amazing sushi !!! I highly recommend this resort . Kick ass location, close to everything! No issues at all. Clean rooms ,big room , nice size kitchen. Pool bar was a little pricey but that's to be expected. Awesome location!! Ask for an upgraded room and pay the difference! Nowhere better for relaxing on the beach. They hooked us up with a fun cocktail night at the resort and also an amazing Catamaran trip. Just awesome. Best spot in Cabo by far. Do yourself a favor and go to La Lupita around the corner for best food in town. read more

This is the place to be! I've stayed at both Pueblo Bonita and Pueblo Rose so I have some perspective. The resort is all about attention to detail and making sure you enjoy your stay. When I booked I was looking at all the hotels along Medina Beach and Casa Dorado came up equal if not a little less than all the rest. It's also the closest resort to downtown and the Marina so if you don't mind putting in a half to 1 mile of walking it's ideal. By the way, The Italian Job Restaurant is one block away and absolutely fabulous food at a very reasonable price for higher end Italian. The pool is perfect. No where deep. All 5 feet or less. Swim up bar. Plenty of poolside service and the food is OUTSTANDING at a reasonable price. A full pound hamburger with fries will run about $13 and feeds two that aren't starving. We had sushi one night. 3 rolls. With adamami beans and the total bill with tip was $46. We had their surf and turf entree (just one) another night with a bowl of shrimp bisque delivered to our room and it was about $55 with tip. Beers are cheap by the pool. $3.50 for Pacifico. $9 for a Margarita. You know you are going to pay more than the store. Get a beer outside the airport.... $7 before tip. One huge suggestion. Order your food for the week ahead of time using Prickly Pear. Google them. They deliver Costco and groceries to your hotel. Yes, I'm sure our $200 in food and drink delivered would probably be $140 if you did it yourself but save the hassle. Most things you buy at Costco in the States is on their site. So load up on liquor and drink mixers! Bagels in the morning (they have a toaster) and cream cheese. Cheese and turkey for a quick and easy sandwich. Yes I'm a little frugal but we went through 3 handles of Kirkland Vodka in a week. About $20 on prickly pear per bottle. Guessing $400+ bar tab saved. Walking distance to the Gardenia Mexican restaurant. Totally modest prices. Just an authentic Mexican place. Be aware. One burrito is small. It would take three for your typical Chipotle burrito. read more

Upgrade fees are deceptive . Be careful. All rooms except 1st floor garden rooms have a view. They want to charge you for that view. The criteria for an upgrade is another bedroom. I was charged an upgrade even though I still had only one bedroom and one bathroom. read more

I got the all inclusive package for my daughter and her two friends. The three of them reported that the staff was incredibly rude and ignored them constantly. They were told to make dinner reservations when older couples could walk into restaurants freely and the all inclusive package IS A SCAM. My child was in Mexico and was denied water unless she was willing to pay $8 a bottle. Absolutely ridiculous. read more
