Service was not great. The server sat by the cash register taking to a guy and we waited for over 20 mins before we ever saw her. I finally had to go ask for our check and boxes. I ordered menudo because I haven't had it in years and was really looking forward to it. I came in with two other classmates. One of them actually recommended this place because she had eaten here before and said it was good. Unfortunately, the woman working today was very short with us, came across as rude, and made it seem like taking our order was a major inconvenience. We all ordered the same thing, but when I started eating my menudo I found three hairs in it, which was really disappointing. I ended up throwing the whole thing away, which was frustrating considering I spent $20 on it. On top of that, my friend specifically requested corn tortillas when we were given the option between flour or corn, but they forgot to include them and only gave us flour tortillas. I first went with my coworker and we loved it!! I ordered the carnitas plate and she ordered the chile colorado. I returned and brought my boyfriend as he was craving a mojarra frita. We dined at Casa Jimenez after not visiting for such a long time. I'm happy to report that the quality still remains the same. I ordered my favorite dish, the Chicken Enchilada Lunch special, which they serve all day long. It comes with one enchilada, rice and beans. For $5.95, you can't go wrong. It comes piping hot, the rice is fluffy and flavorful, as well as the beans. The enchilada is chock full of shredded chicken (seems like more than I remember from before). I would have loved to have more of the tasty sauce on the inside of the enchilada, rather than just being on the top. I'm not a big eater, so it was plenty for me for dinner. I enjoyed it! They also serve complementary chips and salsa, two kinds... a hot red sauce, as well the salsa with chopped tomatoes. Ambience is nice and cozy inside with comfortable booths. We decided to have a quick snack and beers here while waiting for our laundry. The snack is actually my dinner. It's a cute mom and pops with no frills, Mexican plaza painting on the wall for cultural reference. Ordered the camarones con mojo de ajo, which are medium sized shrimp sliced in half, soaking in garlic and butter sauce. The amount of garlic is a pleasure. The dinner combo comes with beans and rice, which is a tenderly flavorfully cooked frijole soft bean, with a cheese that is really good quality and stretches. There is a chips and salsa like most places, but theirs is a container with pico de Gallo and also a hot sauce (with a very unique flavor) in another container to cater to all kinds of people. I place both on my chips, and after about 15 pieces, I like to feel the fire. The dinner combo with shrimp was $15, but worth it. Flavor is incredible. Beers are a little pricey at $3.96 to $7.95, but it's ok. They are very generous with the lines when you order corona. read more

The food taste home made and they give you a healthy portion, you'll get full for sure, maybe even have food left over to take home. For breakfast, I usually get the huevos rancheros, which I recommend, but all of the options are delicious. For lunch I usually get the shrimp costa azul, which is bacon wrapped shrimp or sizzling fajitas, or you can choose from the soups, like beef stew or chicken. Not fond of casa Jimenez... The main reason is the salsa.. for me a Mexican restaurant must have a good salsa.. I really like the habanero salsa that has been going around now.. tired of the typical restaurant salsa.. but that is still acceptable.. what casa Jimenez serves is more a taco sauce, I thought the beans was tasty.. the rice that's another story.. did not care fore the rice.. had a weird flavor, and was way over cooked... Thought the hard shell taco was good, as well as the carnitas.. bought meats could have used more seasoning... I also had the Chile releno, which was enjoyable... Service was also good.. will still be looking for my favorite Mexican restaurant read more
