For many years this has been my families favorite local Torta restaurant. Parking is a hit or miss near the entrance as it is located in a busy shopping center- the restaurant is located to the right so its parking is limited to sharing with near by stores. My go-to menu item has always been the torta Cubana. Although, I felt that they have recently made them a bit smaller than what I recall but regardless the taste is great. My absolute favorites about this place are the Aguas frescas, if I don't get a watermelon water it will always be my horchata (10/10), if you like your drinks on the sweeter side these are definitely for you. Service is always good here, the waitress was very attentive and offered plenty of help! They have plenty of seating so that's never a worry as well. I recommend trying a Torta from here if you're in the area!

    price comparison to place.

Terrible. Literally -1/10. Avoid wasting your money and time. THIS PLACE IS SO DISGUSTING AND SMELLS SO AWFUL.. I always dine in at the Fontana Ca location and it's wonderful. This place must be ran by someone else because this is so awful. I'm not even exaggerating this place smells musty. The food is not good either. I ordered a Pollo especial torta and the cheese they use is so different than the Fontana location. This was such a terrible experience and it is not inexpensive. Save your money and time this place is awful. Fontana location is so good and I would recommend 10/10.

I lived in this area for the last 15 years... and although i have seen this place many times, i never actually got the chance to stop by. The restaurant itself is huge and has plenty of seating for multiple families or if you decided to dine in solo. The service was fast. I received my food and drinks in probably about 10 minutes around 9 pm on a Sunday. I ordered 2 Tortas (The Fonda and the Picosita), 2 tacos (asada + marinated pork), and a watermelon juice. The watermelon juice was one of the tastiest and refreshing juice i have had in a long time. Easily 5/5. The tacos were good... but, not great. Rate them 3/5. I suppose the mishap here is no cilantro/onion. It just comes out pure meat with a bit of guac. The salsas could use a bit more flavor as well (both the green and the red). The are very generous with the salsas and sides of (carrots, onions, and peppers) though. The tortas were both good 4/5. I would have given a 5/5 if they didn't come out so soggy. They literally were soaking in juices (probably from all the onions, peppers and other fillings. Still... it would have been good to have a solid sandwich that i didn't have to use a fork with. Solid torta spot dispite the few things they could easily remedy. The juices are so good. This spot could live off selling those alone and they have healthy options of pure vegetables juiced. I will definitely be coming back here.

    Torta de Lomo Especial

On an average day, Tortas Sinaloa will cure your midday hunger. This was an average day... the service was average, my torta was average, and the waitime I would consider longer than average - especially for what is basically a sandwich. At least the music was good and the aguas frescas were delcious and refreshing. The restaurant itself is pretty simple. The kitchen is in the back. That is where the meats are grilled and the tortas are panni-pressed. This is what makes it Sinaloa-style suppose. Most tortas are actually not pressed. If you ask them not to press it, they won't, but then it's not Sinaloa style. Cada quien/To each his own. Along one side is the counter that runs the length. Behind it, the servers whip up bionicos and fill cups with delicious aguas frescas. The aguas are probably the best part of this place. They come in about 10 flavors from watermelon to cucumber to cantaloupe. I was suspicious that the meat in my Lomo (ribeye) Especial was actually not Lomo. It looks more like a chuck roast that was braised and then shredded. Ribeye doesn't shred. It cuts. I can say it was good enough for lunch at a strip mall with a Home Depot as the anchor.

I ordered through DoorDash, but next time I'll definitely dine in--I can only imagine how much better the food would be when it's fresh.

A Fun Little Mexican Spot for a Birthday Celebration!…read more Came here after work to celebrate a coworker's birthday, and we were greeted with a pretty good vibe and atmosphere! It wasn't packed at all around 5 PM on a Thursday, which was perfect for a little after-work dinner. The restaurant has a cool, casual Mexican vibe, and our waitress was super friendly and attentive throughout the meal. La Cosecha Molcajete -- $39.99 | 7/10 This was actually my second time ordering the La Cosecha Molcajete, so I already knew what I was getting into! A molcajete is basically a sizzling stone bowl filled with grilled meats, seafood, veggies, cheese, and a flavorful sauce--all served together so you can mix and match every bite. This one came loaded with skirt steak, chicken, two shrimp, cactus, cheese, and chorizo, along with a side of rice and beans. I also asked for both flour and corn tortillas, but only received the corn tortillas. Flavor-wise, it was decent! I've had molcajetes at several other Mexican restaurants, and I'd say this one was good but not my favorite. The sauce was flavorful, but I've definitely had better sauces elsewhere. Still, there's something fun about having a giant sizzling bowl of meat, shrimp, cheese, and all the fixings landing on your table! A few of my coworkers ordered other dishes that you'll see pictured, although I didn't personally try them enough to give ratings. My coworker did mention that the shrimp tacos were good but that she's had better. Overall, this is a cool little spot to grab some Mexican food, especially if you're looking for a casual place to hang out with coworkers or friends. Service was friendly, the atmosphere was nice, and the molcajete was definitely fun to order! Would I come back? I wouldn't say no! There are still plenty of things on the menu I'd love to try. Happy Eats!

You can park in the additional parking spots all around Shopper Ln. I have been a customer for many years and tried many delicious dishes. They serve a traditional Mexican open buffet at certain times. The waiting line is expected, but don't feel discouraged because it moves fast. The decor is vibrant enriched with colorful murals. The staff are very welcoming and genuinely warm. The restaurant has cozy and inviting ambience. Outdoor and indoor seating are available. I placed an online order for pickup. It was fast and convenient since I had friends coming for dinner. I ordered the following: - Burrito Panchon 5/5 Stuffed with carnita, beans and rice, served with cream, beans and guacamole. Huge portion! You can choose your protein. - Fajitas Cielo Mar Y Tierra 5/5 Marinated beef, shrimp, chicken. It served with sauteed bell peppers tomatoes and onions, rice, guacamole, beans and pico de gallo. It was smoky, savory and flavorful. - Vegetarian Enchiladas 5/5 Corn tortillas stuffed with bell pepper, corn, onion, carrot, cilantro, squash, and topped with a combination of cream and jack cheese. The portion was enormous. It was a very flavorful and savory. - Carna Asada 5/5 Flap meat marinated with homemade adobo. It served with pico de gallo, rice & guacamole. The meat was juicy and tender. It was such a delicious dish. - Empanadas 5/5 I chose chicken empanadas. It served with salad. The empanadas was crispy from outside and very flavorful. - Ensalada de Nopales 5/5 Diced cactus mixed with tomatoes, onion, lime, and cilantro. - Taquitos 5/5 It was crispy from outside with savory and juicy filling. - Taco de Cameron , taco de Pescado & taco de Birria 5/5 They were savory, juicy and delicious. - Beans 5/5 Topped with melted cheese, really delicious - Large Bionico Bowl 5/5 Fresh fruits like topped strawberries, mango, cantaloupe, banana, papaya, blueberries, apples, pineapple topped with granola and shaved coconut. It was rich, creamy. The fruits were fresh and sweet. It was heavenly! Every box was wrapped with layers of plastic wrap perfectly. I got a bag full of different types of salsa with my order and another bag with tortilla chips. The food portions were very generous. Every dish reflected authenticity and deliciousness. Fonda Don Chon has high quality, flavorful and delicious food. It is my FAVORITE MEXICAN RESTAURANT.

I'm sorry, but I wanted to like this place. Let's start with…read morethe drink. -Cafe De Olla. I don't know, I've had it at quite a few places. Even made it myself. Just wasn't a fan of theirs. Now the food.... I had the Chon's Breakfast Comal. The chorizo was ok. Lacked quite a bit of flavor. Potatoes tasted kinda like they were boiled and then finished in a sauce, then plated. The bell peppers and onions were fantastic. A lot. But they were cooked well. Over easy eggs were decent, despite one of them being cooked all the way through. Comal was perfect temperature. But insanely greasy (which is expected from chorizo). Rice. Eh... Rice is rice. Wasn't bad. But was all "Oh my goodness this is amazing." Beans tasted like the refried Rosarita's can. Just topped with cheese. The salsa. It was pretty good. The 1st time. Until I found a hair. Then I was given a 2nd one. And when I decided to eat it, it was no good. It was starting to spoil. I realized this once I put it on a bite I was about to take and immediately put it in my food i was about to chew in my napkin. After about 15 minutes when my server finally came by, I told her of the situation. She said "I'll go check." Then disappeared. Someone else gave me the check, and then someone else brought the receipt. The initial server didn't pop up until I was getting up to walk out. So no manager interaction. No "we'll comp your coffee." Just a "Sorry you didn't like it." As I walked out. Ambiance is cool, but some table placement doesn't make sense. That needs to be addressed. Will I come back here? I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. But I'm talking like 80 no /20 yea. So I guess we'll see.. So I'm giving this place 1 star. I'm sorry, but this is my opinion based on my 1st experience here. Maybe it'll be better. We'll see....
