I lived in this area for the last 15 years... and although i have seen this place many times, i never actually got the chance to stop by. The restaurant itself is huge and has plenty of seating for multiple families or if you decided to dine in solo. The service was fast. I received my food and drinks in probably about 10 minutes around 9 pm on a Sunday. I ordered 2 Tortas (The Fonda and the Picosita), 2 tacos (asada + marinated pork), and a watermelon juice. The watermelon juice was one of the tastiest and refreshing juice i have had in a long time. Easily 5/5. The tacos were good... but, not great. Rate them 3/5. I suppose the mishap here is no cilantro/onion. It just comes out pure meat with a bit of guac. The salsas could use a bit more flavor as well (both the green and the red). The are very generous with the salsas and sides of (carrots, onions, and peppers) though. The tortas were both good 4/5. I would have given a 5/5 if they didn't come out so soggy. They literally were soaking in juices (probably from all the onions, peppers and other fillings. Still... it would have been good to have a solid sandwich that i didn't have to use a fork with. Solid torta spot dispite the few things they could easily remedy. The juices are so good. This spot could live off selling those alone and they have healthy options of pure vegetables juiced. I will definitely be coming back here.

    Torta de Lomo Especial

On an average day, Tortas Sinaloa will cure your midday hunger. This was an average day... the service was average, my torta was average, and the waitime I would consider longer than average - especially for what is basically a sandwich. At least the music was good and the aguas frescas were delcious and refreshing. The restaurant itself is pretty simple. The kitchen is in the back. That is where the meats are grilled and the tortas are panni-pressed. This is what makes it Sinaloa-style suppose. Most tortas are actually not pressed. If you ask them not to press it, they won't, but then it's not Sinaloa style. Cada quien/To each his own. Along one side is the counter that runs the length. Behind it, the servers whip up bionicos and fill cups with delicious aguas frescas. The aguas are probably the best part of this place. They come in about 10 flavors from watermelon to cucumber to cantaloupe. I was suspicious that the meat in my Lomo (ribeye) Especial was actually not Lomo. It looks more like a chuck roast that was braised and then shredded. Ribeye doesn't shred. It cuts. I can say it was good enough for lunch at a strip mall with a Home Depot as the anchor.

    Totallly recommend this place

Carnitas, pastor and asada tacos were very juicy. Home made tortillas are delicious. Fresh water cucumber refreshing. Worker are friendly and extremely clean.

Well I walked in and asked if we are to sit or order at the cash register. The lady said register. So I waited at the register. Then an employee from the back of the counter came and stood by the register. As I patiently waited to order. She asked the other person what they wanted to order. Which was really rude!! Unfortunately!! So I ordered and sat down. My name was called. Then got up to get the food. The tacos were good. But she left out the cilantro, guacamole which are included with the purchase of a taco!! I ordered two! And the TORTA with guac on the side! Which again unfortunately didn't come So I got up and asked for some. Then a family walked in and sat down. She walked over there and handed them menus. And then took their order. Why didn't she do that for me. Who knows. Sadly left with a bad feeling in my stomach. Hopefully she can work on her customer service. Btw only 5 people in the whole restaurant.

#48. Insurgentes Torta Especial. Look at all that Oaxaca cheese melting out. Tasty.

Some straight talk. Customer service isn't their strong suit here. Employees are generally pretty indifferent to you and service can be on the slow side. I really think that's why they get just an average rating on Yelp. I think that because everything I've had here is great. I also wouldn't let it sit for too long, or even order it from GrubHub. Order there to go. These tortas have a lot on them, and if you wait too long to eat them, that nice panini toasted roll is going to start getting soggy. I'm always impressed with the amount of meat and ripe avocado. Plus lots of different cheeses. My personal favorite is the Caribena because I love the pineapple on it. It's a little expensive, especially the aguas frescas, but you do get a pretty massive meal. All in all, a good place where I will definitely keep returning.

Carnita torta...ehhh...it was OK. Nothing special

I ordered through DoorDash, but next time I'll definitely dine in--I can only imagine how much better the food would be when it's fresh.

People always ask me what my favorite Mexican restaurant is, and honestly that's hard to answer because the best spots usually aren't trendy. They're not the places with neon signs, fake plants hanging from the ceiling, $22 margaritas, or mirrors designed so people can take Instagram selfies pretending they're in Tulum. Real Mexican food -- especially great regional Mexican food -- is usually found in little hole-in-the-wall spots next to a laundromat, a dry cleaner, or a hair salon where the rent is cheap and the recipes are real. That's exactly what Mi Lindo Oaxaca feels like. It's a small, family-style restaurant with very friendly people and a warm atmosphere. You can see the women back in the kitchen working hard, and somehow you already know the food is going to hit before you even take a bite. Maybe it's because every great Mexican restaurant has tias in the kitchen running the show. Big arms, aprons, moving fast, no wasted motion -- that's usually a good sign. I called ahead to place my order and they were super friendly from the start. When I got there I waited just a few minutes and started looking around. I noticed a small refrigerator filled with homemade desserts and pastries, and one thing that caught my eye was this little bag of bread that looked almost like mini conchas -- but not quite. I asked what they were and the woman explained they were called "Yemas" (egg yolk bread) and that they're shipped directly from Oaxaca. I bought some and honestly they were incredible with coffee the next morning. Soft, slightly rich, subtly sweet -- one of those simple things that reminds you how deep Mexican baking culture actually is outside of the usual stuff people know. Overall: great food, fair prices, genuinely kind people, and the kind of place that makes you want to find another excuse to drive back to La Puente just so you can try more of the menu. This is real Mexican food culture. No gimmicks. No influencer bait. Just quality food made by people who care.
