I absolutely loved it here. We were seated and greeted right away. As soon as we sat down, we were brought complimentary chips and salsa, which were amazing, we had to pace ourselves with those (addicting). We ordered two California burritos with chicken, both with modifications, and they came out excellent. The queso sauce on top was especially delicious. We also had margaritas, and they were fantastic too. While the prices might seem a little high at first glance, the portion sizes and quality absolutely make it worth it. The menu has a ton of options, and everything coming out of the kitchen looked fresh and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell they care about quality and presentation. If you're debating trying something new here, do it. After living down South for over ten years, where fish/seafood, and Mexican food were staples in my diet, I'm so grateful to have found this spot. It was quiet when we arrived around 3 p.m., but started to fill up around 4. Even as it got busier, the music stayed at a comfortable volume, and we had no trouble carrying on a conversation at our table. I loved the artwork and the authentic touches throughout the space. It made me feel a little closer to the community I lived around for so long and miss very much. The staff is incredible... friendly, warm, and welcoming from start to finish. We were so hungry and everything seemed to be closed. We were the only customers because it was so late but they were welcoming! My chicken taco salad was delicious. Stopped in for lunch. Chips and salsa were brought to the table. They were fine but nothing special. Ordered chicken chimichanga with rice and beans, combo plate with a taco, enchilada, and chulupa and kids meal of mini corn dogs and fries. The chimichanga was not deep dried or even crunchy. It simply had the filling rolled in a tortilla. Brought it to the servers' attention, and they replaced it but still was not fried or crunchy. The taco was okay, the enchilada was bland, and the chulupa was actually a refried bean tostada with avocado, lettuce and tomato. The fries for the kids' meals were extremely bland, and there were only four mini corn dogs. Was pretty disappointed after reading other reviews. I absolutely love Casa Mexicana. Tonight, I went there, and it was amazing as usual. I got the Special Dinner. I get this a lot when I go out to Mexican, but I usually just give the tamales away, because I have never had one I liked. But I accidentally ate some of it, and it was super good. I have been traveling up to Chippewa Falls for years but only recently discovered this hidden gem. Apparently the locals have been coming here for awhile to get there Tex-Mex fix. This place is terrific. My wife discovered it on a road trip a few years ago and tonight we stopped in on another trip through Chippewa Falls. A bright, colorful interior is almost overwhelming. They get the maximum number of tables and booths into the space. We were greeted and seated right away. Chips and salsa arrived and drink order taken before we were settled into our small but comfortable booth. The most amazing thing was the speed. No exaggeration; it took as long to decide what we wanted as it did for our entrees to arrive. Menu selection is large. The menu is many pages long with a variety of sections and descriptions. I ordered Shrimp Jalisco. My only complaint is the mushrooms were canned instead of fresh. However they tasted good. The sautéed jalapeños and onions were crisp and fresh, and the whole plate arranged nicely with rice, salad, pico, guacamole and sour cream. I recommend it. My wife and our daughters loved their meals. Prices are reasonable. Our tab for four adult entrees was only $46.28. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Came here to meet up with a friend/ band member before their concert yesterday. Their meal was the best they'd ever had for the chile dish they had. The tacos were just ok nothing special and definitely didn't taste authentic like the street tacos in Mexico. The jalapeño poppers were ok as well. Nothing great. The guac was less than desirable and disappointing. It seemed too salty and too creamy. The steak Colorado meat was so dry it was tough to eat. It wasn't that great and definitely not worth the price. I expected more with the good reviews it had. There's so much on the menu but this first impression wasn't good. It also was far too packed there and the table I had was crammed in the back and I couldn't even sit in the chair fully because it was rocking on the wood baseboard and the metal table bottom. We were vacationing in the area and happened to stop in and check out this great little Mexican restaurant in Chippewa. The ambiance is really fun, and we were greeted and seated right away. Our server was amazing, he was extremely good at his job and was having a great time singing and enjoying his time while working. We enjoyed the banter with him and the food was really good. We especially loved their verde (green) salsa. The margaritas were good as well. We love finding authentic Mexican food restaurants where every we go and this place did not disappoint. 2 of us got the Mexican flag enchiladas - the ground beef, chicken and cheese enchiladas were excellent. Never did I think I would find a great Mexican restaurant in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. But man was I wrong!!! When you walk in the door you are filled with color and joy. I have never seen a Mexican restaurant filled with such an authentic atmosphere. I would recommend just going for the lovely decor and awesome staff! Then once we sat down we were quickly greeted by a smiling face that offered all drinks possible. Of course, I couldn't pass up on a margarita (my favorite!) and man was it good! Then, we ordered our food and it came out, no joke, 15 minutes later!!!! The plates were warm, as you know they just came out of the oven, and the food tasted AMAZING. I personally customized my order and they accommodated - no questions asked! I got the enchiladas supreme which includes 4 enchiladas, rice, and guacamole, all for $9! People - you will not find a deal like this anywhere else! On top of that, we got unlimited free chips and salsa. Ugh, I am drooling just thinking about it. All basically the same, run by the same family - no, this is not a chain. You can get your Amer-Mex stuff, but they also have very fine non-typical dishes, which is where I usually head. When you first think of Chippewa Falls...I don't think many people first thought would be Mexican food...but this place is legit. Our group came here on a Friday night around 7, and the place was about half full. The first thing you notice when you walk in the door is all the colorful art on the chairs, tables, and walls (and, unfortunately for this Vikings fan, includes a Mexican-style Packers logo...but then again...this restaurant is in Wisconsin). The other initial observation relates to the number of menu offerings. I swear there are over 100 menu items, and it took a good few minutes to narrow down what exactly I wanted to order. All of the food we ordered came in a VERY generous portion size. I ordered the Quesadilla Deluxe, which came with very generous side orders of lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole. Given these portion sizes, the prices are extremely reasonable. My order barely topped $10, and the only people that went over $15 were those that ordered an alcoholic drink. Definitely a great place to check out if you're in the Chippewa Falls area. P.S. They have delicious chips and salsa, a bonus of any Mexican restaurant. read more

Sunday night and I am from out of town...Where should I eat? I was craving Mexican cuisine and man I hit it right by coming here for my take out. Being on the road is not fun to begin with and finding a place to eat on Sunday in todays Covid-19 environment adds to the hunt of getting a good meal. I found it here and recommend it highly. They cooked my meal exactly as I requested...no Bell peppers, no sour cream, no rice...caramelized onions which is real tricky trying to explain how to cook them without burning them. Thank you to the Sunday night cooking crew that made it happen. Take out is ALWAYS tricky as you are not there in person to point out what ever was not correct. Having lived in Arizona for the past 4 years we are accustomed to authentic Mexican. We stopped in for lunch - as soon as we walked in, the environment is colorful and gives that real Mexican experience. The chips came with some excellent salsa. We ordered the Queso Blanco with our chips and that was delicious - recommend that for sure. My wife and I both got lunch specials which were very tasty and just the right amount. We are here during lunch and haven't tried the Margarita's yet but for Mexican in Chippewa Falls we are definitely coming back and next time for Margaritas! Well done Casa Mexicanas!! read more

Went here on a Monday night and it was quite busy. I found out when I paid my bill that it was cheap margarita night. Probably better I discovered it then :-) My food was really good. The chips were served warm and the salsa was just the right amount of spicy to me. I ordered carne asada and it was exactly what I was expecting. The staff was efficient and friendly enough. STAY AWAY!!!! We are not particular people, but everything about this experience was crappy. First, the service was horrendous, and the workers all appeared annoyed that we were even in the restaurant. Second, the food was very poor quality. I ordered a combination dinner with a chili relleno, burrito, and taco. The chili relleno was just a raw green pepper (that was rotten on the edge) over beef and the burrito and taco had beef in it that tasted like Alpo dog food out of a can. I sent it back because it was terrible and the waiter got upset about it. The staff didn't want to take it off the bill, and after a bit of arguing, they finally did. All in all, this is a terrible restaurant. The service was awful and the food was even worse. Because of the crappy service and the staff's demeanor about our dissatisfaction, we did not leave them a tip only to have the server holler sarcastically across the restaurant as we left, "thanks a lot for the tip"! This place is worth a visit. Let's start off with the service. The service is my only sat off. Although it's fast, sometimes staff will get orders wrong or mess up. They also seem a little unfriendly at times. But the food is fast and favors all that really matters. It gives off a nice atmosphere with nice tables and usually the waiters are nice just not the wait staff sometimes. The food is great. It's cheap and it's delicious. There's a couple things I wouldn't recommend like the tacos. Tacos feel Americanized and I can tell they use packet seasoning in the meat. But other than that everything else I've tried is great. Casa Mexicana is my unit's "go to stop" for Mexican Food... Once a month, I look forward to coming to Casa Mexicana to try another item on their diverse menu. Ranging from the California Burrito to the Pineapple Steak, their entrees are generous and affordable. I highly recommend going in Monday-Friday so you can chose from their lunch/special menu... Also, take some time to "drink in" Casa Mexicana's decorations. Some are rather amusing (please see the photos I submitted for this place). All in all, this place is a major "win" in my book. Casa Mexicana has been my favorite place to eat since they opened shop. They definitely have the best Mexican food in this area of Wisconsin! The enchiladas verdes and nachos fajitas are exceptional and everything is reasonably priced. The only reason I choose to give them 4 stars rather than 5 is because of the customer service. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad... However, it has definitely declined over the years. The wait staff is polite and very fast, but they don't smile much anymore and aren't particularly friendly.
