    Black mold

Came here for the first time during the midst of COVID, and was disappointed by the service and food. Figured I'd give them another try, post-pandemic... and I had an even worst experience this go around. First off, there was visible BLACK MOLD all around the AC vent, which you could tell they tried to paint over some of it but it's clearly there. As well in various other locations in the front eating section. They've clearly had water damaged which they've not taken care of safely. The unfriendly waitress was no where to be found for the first 20min that we sat down, and then when she did come, she didn't bring or offer chips and salsa, we had to ask. Then our drinks were forgotten after the chips came 30min in to us sitting down. We were about to leave at this point but I was so hungry that I didn't want to waste anymore time... Ordered a $14 quesadilla that looked like a child's plate. Incredibly overpriced for that little amount of food, and the service or food quality definitely doesn't compensate for these high prices. Do not eat here. I will never spend money at this business again. If you're nearby, you're better off visiting Los Vaqueros or Pisces.

Delicious breakfast, great service and authentic ambiance. When you walk in there are fresh pastries to choose from to have with your meal or take home. We will be back!

What are Fajitas veggies?comes "sizzling" hot like the picture you have on the menu

Hello Server: Maty Check #186 Table : 9 Date:4/13/2025 11:51 a.m. We ordered Fajitas 1. Fajitas veggies 2. Fajitas de Res Generally, Fajitas come "sizzling hot" in any restaurant, we ate so far. Check out 1. On the border 2. 3 Margaritas 3. Casa Gracias I am surprised that the order came cold in ceramic plates with leftovers from some breakfast already cooked in the morning. This is not I expected and I cried to taste that meal. As we had to rush to attend an event, after lunch, we had to taste that awful meal. Try to be realistic and think what a "Fajita" in this world means. i wonder how you run a food business with such poor standards. Hope this makes sense!!!

    Drive thru menu for everyone!

I loved the breakfast tacos! I rolled up to the drive thru and was ready to eat and excited that a local spot even had a drive thru. I don't have a lot of breakfast taco experience but I thought mine were delicious. All the ingredients were obviously hand made and quality. I wish I would have known that they weren't premade tacos to order, but you make them yourself out of a list of Ingredients. I held up the line a bit not knowing what to choose. I ordered a (sausage, egg, guac, and cheese) a (egg, bean, cheese) and a (bacon, egg, cheese). Everything was really good! Posted a pic of the menu for everyone!

11.25$ just for 3 crispy beef tacos

If I could give less at this location I would, everything is over priced. Waitress didn't even seem like she cared to be there, when I told her I wanted just 2 crispy beef tacos she said they can't and can only do a plate with the rice and beans, I did let her know I have been through their drive thru and they were able to do the tacos only and everything was fine last week, she explained it's different in drive thru. I got 3 ground beef tacos by themself, 1 chili Relleno plate and 1 sweet tea. Total came out to 35$ ! Definitely does NOT add up right, I should have got the receipt but didn't think to. Experience was not good. Go somewhere else

    4 eggs charged $12.96

We found this place a few months ago while visiting friends. Nice people, somewhat good food. Today, after flying into the greater Austin area. We decided to go for a bite. I am sharing with the public the ridiculous overcharging for 4 eggs to be put on enchiladas. As you can see, for two eggs, we were charged $4.00 for putting on Chilaquilas. The RIDICULOUS reasoning given by the female manager was because on the Enchiladas Mexicans, there is NOT AN OPTION, for eggs. Therefore, it is considered an a la carte. WHAT? An egg is an egg. This goes to show how ridiculous owners are overcharging the consumers and giving hideous excuses for the overcharging. For $12.96, we could have bought 2 dozen eggs. I hope this gets the attention of the owner(s). This should NOT happen and continue to happen. Let's just say you've lost a few customers!!!!

The food was mid, I've had better food at a gas station. The service was very good. Especially not being from this area, it was fast and efficient, but the selection was disappointing. How are you not going to have sausage for breakfast? You're supposed to be a restaurant and be prepared for customers.

    No one here. Wonder why?
    Jerry B.

Wow. Let me see. I sit. And then get up to order as if I was at Mc Donald's or "you can order online just take a picture of the QR code" oh ok. Then if you want a tip you can scan my QR assCode. It's a restaurant. It's not some ranch house eatery. Hell, why not cook my own. You got allll these staff standing around. Chatting amongst themselves. Go wait on people!! What the hell does "service" mean. Never coming here again. Good luck.

As we walked in, we were greeted by who I assume is the owner and she let us know there was a free table next to her. Our waitress was super friendly and gave us chips and salsa shortly after being sat. The chips and salsa were excellent and I, as usual, ate too much. The salsa had a good spice and great flavor and the chips were very crunchy and crispy (like fritos but airier). I ordered a small menudo and chilaquiles with green salsa and both were really good. The menudo had a ton of flavor, good spices, and the stomach pieces were cooked perfectly; super tender and no, sometimes off putting, lingering offal smells. The chilaquiles were also great and the green salsa was mild and refreshing, with excellent side of potatos and beans. I could not finish my food as I thought the small menudo would be like a small cup not a whole bowl. I had also filled up on chips and salsa and our waitress refilled it so I had even more. All in all, this is an excellent little local spot for some bold flavors and fresh food. The menu is quite large and I'm curious to come back and have some other foods (like chicken fried steak).

It immediately made us uncomfortable and definitely affected the whole experience. We almost left, but since we were already there and didn't want to go somewhere else, we decided to stay and give it a chance. Unfortunately, after seeing that, it was hard to enjoy the food and the overall experience just wasn't good. Another thing that stood out is how dark and dim the restaurant is inside. It makes it hard to see much around you, which honestly made us wonder about the cleanliness after what we saw. Everything was pretty delicious and the presentation was beautiful. The Catfish Beignets were perfectly crispy with a hint of sweetness, but nothing super special about them, just tasted like fried catfish to me. The Diablo Chicken Pasta was nice and saucy, but like the catfish beignets, was a bit bland so I needed some salt to up the flavors. The shrimp ceviche was very refreshing, delicious, and a solid appetizer that was packed with flavor. The Chicken Waffles was good as well. The chorizo gravy sauce that came with it, was different, but complimented the whole dish very well. Overall, the portion was a bit smaller than I'd like for the price that I paid, but the food was overall pretty delicious. Our server Michael was fantastic. Super fast, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. A full bar, but didn't have Pina Coladas. Lots of tables and chairs to dine at. Clean restrooms and lots of parking. Also, the shrimp tostada bites were killer - I could eat those all day. My wife's carajillo was perfect. OK: catfish beignets-the batter was well seasoned and crunchy, but it seemed like the actual fish needed seasoning as it was pretty bland. Grilled chicken sandwich was pretty bland too: the chicken was slightly dry and aside from the avocado, onion and tomato, there was not much flavor. Checked the buns to see if they were spread with an aoli but no, pretty dry. I thought Z Tejas was ok then and it's still ok and wouldn't be my first choice unless it's for happy hour where they have the shrimp tostadas on special.

Why did the waitress not ask "do you want the refried that comes with it or charro for an up charge?" Instead, the waitress automatically gave her charro beans. You don't automatically give someone the upgraded version to their meal and especially not without asking which kind of beans does she want. I'm writing this update bc in my last review the waitress did the same thing by up charging my husband's meal when he didn't ask to. BEWARE here! The food is pretty decent, nothing crazy but it hits the spot if you need some decent Mexican food. However, go over your bill and clarify everything-twice! Just in case because they will try to make extra money off upgrading you without asking you.
