This place robs people on their final bill. The short time we were there we witness a young man pay out, then return because he was over charged. They went line item by line item, all to show that the restaurant overcharged him by 17 dollars. We ate and here's a breakdown of all we had. One house margarita, one Bloody Mary, 2 unsweet teas, one small queso, one enchilada plate and one plate with 2 enchiladas and a crispy taco. Final bill was over $90 bucks. My wife paid so I never saw the bill until today, i saw what hit the account. $109. That's nuts and ridiculous how they are overcharging customers. read more

Today we went to Piscis Mexican Restaurant for Father's Day. We had driven past and I wanted to try somewhere new. It was a great experience in a humble package. When you walk in, you seat yourself. There was nothing fancy about the place. All of the customers besides our family were Hispanic. The menu was extensive. I enjoyed my Camarones Caliente, although they could have been spicier. Everyone found something they liked. We shared Tres Leches cake for desert. The bill was reasonable. Would definitely go back there. read more

This spot is a hole in the wall! It has great prices and pretty easy menu! Started with the queso with meat! Which was great! Their chip are crispy and thin which adds the best! Got the taco plate with two crispy ground beef tacos. I was expecting fried shells but they were your ordinary corn hard shells you buy in the box. The ground beef was very bland and had no flavor. Love this place. Seafood I can't get in other places places nearby. Lots of healthy tasty options. My husband loves the mole shrimp enchiladas and camarones in red garlic sauce. This place was cool. Huge menu with offerings from Tex Mex to more authentic Mexican to Mexican seafood and soups. Good fresh oysters for $16 a dozen. That's not bad. Food was solid, prices fair for food. I had a couple jumbo frozen margs. Bit of a sticker shock at $15 per marg, but I'll be back for the food and $3-$4 beers ($2-$2.50 for HH). I have come infrequently over the years, and can honestly say that the price of the food has increased while the quality/quantity has not improved. They implemented a new menu with new prices about a year ago, and I honestly haven't cared to come back since; it's not terrible food to begin with, but this place just isn't $$ THAT $$ great imo. On the brighter side of life.. the alcohol pitchers are $20ish bucks during HH, and they have a decent little HH menu; I recommend coming then! Bring a friend or two, to share a pitchers with. Dive restaurants always are the hidden gems, aren't they? We've only been for breakfasts, so I can't yet speak to lunch or dinner offerings, but this spot has it going on! Ate here again last weekend. It was packed, but heck if I know why. The ceviche was again excellent and the Mexican Martinis weren't bad. However, the service was poor and we had very mixed reviews on the entrees. 2 people had the beef burritos and said they were OK. Someone else had the carne asada plate and found it way too salty and did not finish it. I ordered Shrimp a la Mexicana and the shrimp were fishy tasting so I could not eat it. Mark M. and I went for Happy Hour to meet with friends. The margaritas are $1.50, beer is $1 for domestics and $3 for imports. I have to say the margaritas were strong, but a little too sweet for my taste... but for $1.50, you know I'm gonna get my drank on! We also got the cerviche. It was pretty tasty. The fish was fresh and it seemed fresh and homemade. Our whole table sampled and really enjoyed it. The chips were stale, but the rice was also good. I have to agree with others that the service is ridiculous; one of the biggest fusterclucks I have come across in a long time. I went to eat dinner with my family. I went in and got the Special. I had gotten food from here before, but only got it to go. The food here is ok. It is not the best Mexican food I have had. Kyle has an over abundance of Mexican choices. The food was mediocre. You could get better Mexican food at Taco Cabana. When I got the bill it was over $40. I asked them if she charged me for the special and she looked at me like she did not speak English and said with an accent, "Si Si, Special!" You are not fooling me one bit. I have been in here a few times and know for a fact that lady speaks PERFECT English. They will overcharge you if you are not paying attention. I had been waiting in the line to pay for almost 10 minutes. You would have thought the girl was new because she could not figure out the cash register. This is located at the old Fonzie's on the southbound I35 access road just south of downtown Kyle. Went here for lunch! WOW the food was fantastic! The salsa was perfect not too hot and not so mild, you could actually taste the tomatoes and all. We had their Queso and it was just right and stayed that way. We had the Chile Relleno and Pechuga Asado, we changed the re fried beans to whole beans. There was so much food that we left stuffed to the gills. Everything was hot delicious. They have a full service bar and great happy hour prices everyday till 9pm! The prices were reasonable and I recommend this wonderful place to everyone. read more

This place is great if you're looking for a cheap quick mexican meal. the food is good, and my husband loves there happy hour. It seems clean enough and they've made a lot of improvements to the overall feel of the restaurant. there queso is nice. I wish there chips were better that went with there good salsa. The only thing that annoys me is that the TV's are ALWAYS on, and sometimes the patrons of the restaurant get a little too rowdy. For instance, today when we were there, the MOST obnoxious woman i have ever encountered in person was drinking (aka drunk) and making an absolute fool of herself. She was so loud she could be heard at any and all tables, and i could even hear here when i was in the bathroom. I just wish the waiters spoke enough english and had enough sense to maybe ask her to pipe down a bit. Average Tex Mex food. Nothing extraordinary. Small place, relatively speaking. Tables are all very close together and the place is loud. It's a seat yourself place but once you're sat, then they bring you a menu. Not a lot of parking. With all that being said, I will go back. Why? Cheapest happy hour in Kyle. $2.50 margs?! Yes please!!! And for $12.99 (I think), you get a whole pitcher. Their appetizers are cheaper during HH as well. Not much can beat a pitcher of margs and a platter of nachos, all for under $20. read more
