Decided to visit the new location and the food is just as good as the LIC/Sunnyside location.

I am in this area often and I pass this place every time, but I hadn't gone in until the other day…read more My Brooklyn personality instantly took over. It's FRIGGIN AWESUM OVAH HEER. I walked through this whole place with someone else, giggling with glee. I saw meat bread (lard bread), I saw a deli counter with delicious cold cuts & ham nobody pronounces right, and homemade salads, and smiling friendly folks behind the counter, and fresh SMOKED mozzarella (motz), which I've been missing ever since I moved to Jersey. There was fresh meats, pasta, fish, and ring sausage, cannoli, and homemade sauces, and pre-cooked Italian dishes for the folks who wanna try it all, but not make it themselves. Plus bottled and canned items I remembered as a kid, and most straight from Italy. The whole place smelled like parmesan cheese, and felt warm. All that was missing was the sawdust on the floors. lol (yeah I'm old). I bought pasta, their sauce, smoked motz, and parmesan parsley sausage links and made a nice dinner for my friend, enough to pig out and store for another day. The meat bread was heavenly, and if they don't have it every time I enter that place, I swear I'll cry. Their homemade sauce was perfection, and the sausage??? FUGGIT ABOWD IT! I bow to you Iavarone. Go git whatever they selling, like NOW.

It's famous for its authentic Philly-style cheesesteaks featuring thinly sliced ribeye, Cooper Sharp cheese, and griddled onions on a seeded roll. The menu is straightforward, centered on the cheesesteak, with options for sweet or hot peppers, and drinks like Boylan's Root Beer. I've had Danny & Coop's bookmarked for a while, and when I finally visited, the place was bustling. Despite the tight space, the experience is absolutely worth it. When I arrived, there was no line, so I ordered quickly. They sent me a text when my order was ready, which took about fifteen minutes. The cheesesteak was outstanding. At first glance, I thought the bread might be hard, but it was perfectly soft and, without doubt, the ideal bread for a cheesesteak. The seeds added an earthy, nutty flavor. The beef had a deep, rich flavor, emphasizing high-quality ingredients. The rib-eye meat was exceptional, and although the Cooper Sharp cheese and bread were excellent, the rib-eye truly stole the show. The cheese was flavorful but not overpowering. The onions added great texture, and the sweet peppers brought a pleasant acidity that enhanced every bite. The sandwich costs twenty-five dollars but is definitely shareable. Though I haven't tried many cheesesteaks in New York, this is the best I've ever had. Customer service was excellent, and the cheesesteak was simply outstanding. I would gladly travel from Connecticut again to enjoy Danny & Coop's.

The meat was tender and flavorful, and when paired with the cheese and onions, it gave a great bite. The bread was soft and worked as a great vehicle for the filling, and the cheese just held everything together. It is also great when paired with their peppers that they provide on the side. While it is a somewhat pricey sandwich, you also do get a lot. If you're in the mood for a cheesesteak, I highly recommend this place. The service is pretty efficient too, even when there are long lines, and although there's not really seating inside, they do have standing room if you want to eat your sandwich there.

I'm a new fan! Was learning a lot more about Filipino restaurants in Elmhurst & on Queens Blvd…read more because they never seem like a lot of options for a decent lunch when I'd run errands at Target. A friend mentioned a grocery store nearby & I was happy enough since grocery stores are my one of favorite things. Before the restaurant space & grocery consolidated, I noticed the restaurant first (there were many different doors) & was wondering what kind of businesses was it - saw a few tables & it looked busy with people buying food at the steam tables. I looked but was intimidated by the different stews & nothing was labeled. Also, the giant name on the awning doesn't really show that it's a food business, I guess unless you know the language. I always thought it was some kind of furniture store. The "restaurant" has now moved inside the grocery store. I think it works pretty well, because it's so casual. There's about 6-8 tables and every time I go there's always aunties and elders eating. & a lot of people after work or maybe school going in to pick up their dinner. The food is fresh! I recommend the 2 combo plate & add a side of soup. There's a little bit of ordering anxiety, but I watch what other people are getting & if they're not too busy the young workers behind the counter are very nice about explaining things. I've had the beef calderata (beef stew & tomato), pork with liver sauce (actually really good, soy-saucey & deep. Not a strong liver flavor), vegetables (long beans, carrot & okra) in a sort of yellow, turmeric? coconut curry. Highly recommend getting their Sinigang soup of the day. If you like kind of hot & sour flavors (more on the sour end but a clear broth) try it! It's usually with pork but I had a special Salmon one & it was delicious! Found a whole okra & good vegetables in it. Ask for garlic rice (might be extra), it's worth it! There's a lot of options to try, sometimes there's BBQ skewers. You can also get individual sides, Pancit (a rice vermicelli noodle), saw a plate of Pancit Canton (lo mein noodles) come out from the back for a lady. Wish things were labeled or there was a written sign. Very much geared towards Filipino customers who are familiar with the dishes so I guess it's not a high priority. You also can't go wrong with Chicken Adobo (stewed chicken with soy sauce, vinegar, ginger. But has bones). The tables are clean & it's like a little canteen feel where every seems to run into an auntie or uncle they know. There's a case with a lot of coconut desserts & tapioca flour treats, and drinks. One single bathroom FYI. I forget if it's cash only (their register is separate from the grocery's), but paying with exact change in cash is probably easiest.

Unassuming supermarket with hot food options in the back. After picking up my order I ended up purchasing some pan de sal to go. I will definitely be back for some Filipino ingredients and snacks.
