The sandwich 100% lived up to the hype! I can confidently, without a doubt, say this is the best cheesesteak I've ever had. The meat was tender and flavorful, and when paired with the cheese and onions, it gave a great bite. Where once you get your food, there's only a couple small places to eat and stand no places to sit so the overall vibe of the establishment is not much. *This was the best Philly Cheesesteak I ever had! I even have a Yelp list with all of the major players like Tony Lukes, Gino's, Pats, etc.. This sandwich blows all of them out of the water! Let me explain how I came to this conclusion: Saturday morning, I was driving my old Chevy to the Jersey shore to participate in a weekend car show. My wife is in the passenger seat and noticed the car was running rough. A few minutes later, I'm on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck. I have hotel plans and dinner reservations that I had to rearrange. My wife is a trooper so I went back home and switched to my Tesla. Now I'm thinking, It's raining and I can hit up Danny & Coop's because the hipsters aren't going to wait on line in the rain. I pull up and now my wife wants to come inside.. Danny & Coop's isn't a cute little restaurant with tables and waiters serving you. It's a small space, place your order and GTFO. Stop clutching your pearls, Dalessandro's in Philly has the same set up. My wife, she's a trooper but I can see she's hangry. She's inside and the music is loud. They're playing Biggie Smalls and I'm diggin' the vibe. If they would of played Immigrant Song by Zeppelin? Now she'd be cursing me. The sandwiches, God bless everyone came out in less than 15 minutes. We jump in the Tesla and zoom out of NYC in record time! We pull into a Staten Island charging station and bust out the sandwiches. First bite? Heaven. When you order the sandwich, there is no secret code: Wit Whizz, etc.. Theres a lot of cheese on the sandwich, I can taste it but can't see it. And that's fine! I'd say the best thing that slaps my brain is, I can taste the cheesesteak but is that Italian Bread from New York City? The Italian Bread isn't hard-crunchy, it's soft but taste like it came straight out of the oven. So, the bread I grew up with in New York City but the meat inside is totally Philly Style Cheesesteak. Got it. You can have a choice of peppers, mild or hot. They have a small cup that gets put in the bag. And this thing is huge! I can't finish the entire sandwich so I ate half and saved the second half when I got to the Jersey Shore. I also want to point out, You're not going to see Bradley Cooper handing you your order. You're not going to take pictures with him and ask him about Lady Gaga. Brah, C'Mon. You're waiting on line to chow down on the best Philly Cheesesteak made in NYC. And that it was. read more
