This is by far the WORST excuse for an Italian restaurant that I have ever seen in my life. The Spaghetti Factory in Nashville, TN, is the only other place that can compete with Casa Mia. I am a simple guy. All I wanted was rigatoni with sausage and marinara sauce. No rigatoni. No marinara. They did offer to replace the meat sauce with pizza sauce. Overpriced dog food. Honestly the worst pizza I've ever had. Thick, cakey crust, topped with low quality cheese. Jesus it was so bad. I even got a side of spaghetti to eat just in case the pizza was small or my husband ate the whole thing. BAD idea. I got a pile of water-logged and over cooked (out of the box) spaghetti noodles. This was a very nice restaurant right across from the hotel I was staying at. Fresh ingredients, wonderful pizzas, pastas and home made sauces. First time I hade a sausage dish with with white beans (yummy). We ordered a vegetarian pizza as an appetizer. The flavors were amazing! The dough was wonderful. Second visit I had there lasagna, garlic cheese bread, and minestrone soup. The soup was one of the best I have had. It came with a dab of garlic pesto sauce. Once blended into the soup it gave it even more flavor. The garlic cheese bead was melt in your mouth good It was served with an Alfredo style creme sauce and a marinara sauce that were both wonderful. The lasagna was one of the best I have had. Their marinara sauce just makes it. This was a meat lasagna. It had ground sausage that was not salty and full of flavor. Hope you have the chance to come and enjoy the food! read more

My husband and I are regular customers at this Casa Mia in Lacey. The food and service is always exceptional. The menu has an excellent variety of Italian specialtie s ranging from the best pizza in town to piadini and some classic pasta dishes I particularly like the Bellini and the scrumptious, yummy desserts (if you have room for dessert). This restaurant chain continues to disappoint. In contrast to previous visits we were actually seated promptly this time. Within 3-5 minutes our drink order was taken. What I find objectionable is that you cannot make a substitution such as steamed or sautéed veggies instead of meat or bread. The waitress was very confused by my request and at first suggested I could have a mix of veggies as long as they were not cooked. Then she came back to my tabled and deliver the news that in order to have the mix of veggies I requested she would have to charge me a dollar per veggie. That meant that my mixed raw veggie bowl would cost 5 to 6 dollars. Well above the going price for a side of meat. Also, I was not able to sub them for the bread since I don't eat gluten. All in all, this restaurant gets my worst review because they can't accommodate their dinners and follow the SAD (standard american diet) diet. I thought to give this chain another try considering someone reached out to me previously to coach me in how to get my needs met. Well, the attempt was sadly unsuccessful. As someone who travels quite a bit, I find comfort in finding the highest rated Italian Restaurant in the town and trying it out. This one did not disappoint. Would grandma Balsano be in love? Probably not, but the atmosphere is authentic, the service is nice and I ate my entire meal. I never eat the whole meal. I'm sure locals know but if you're looking for consistent Italian food. We discovered Casa Mia accidentally while making the drive from Seattle to Portland. Originally, we had planned to grab a bite at the Jack in the Box down the street, but I'm so glad we didn't. My parents and I were a bit uncertain about the validity of their claims about having award-winning pizza at first. After tasting the chicken pizza with three cheeses, our doubts melted away. After placing an order at the counter for a to-go order of the large pizza (~$18), we waited around in the dining area for about 15-20 minutes. They had some gourmet food magazines around for people in the same situation. Also, an indoor patio area gave the restaurant a nice source of natural light. We could also watch them toss the pizza dough into the air behind the counter. The chicken pizza doesn't just have chicken and three cheeses on top; there are also onions, black olives, fresh basil, and (my favorite) roasted red bell peppers. The crust is deliciously crispy. All in all, a very satisfying pizza. The verdict: On the way back to Seattle the next day, we wanted to go again to try some of their other items, but we couldn't find it by relying on the food signs by the side of the highway. I don't know about the pizzas, but definitely do not come here for the pastas. Hands down, the worst pasta I have ever ate. The tortellini seems to be store bought so it takes a lot for it to taste bad: which means the sauce is at fault. Both the white and red sauce are massacres of sauce. I could've made better sauce at home or even bought cheap sauce for better. The only reason that I gave two stars is because of the excellent customer service. NEVER EVER go there and expect their 'traditional italian lasagna" to be anything you would ever want to eat or be "traditional" I don't remember what I got as a replacement but it must not have been very memorable after the awfulness that was the lasagna. Bread was decent; warm and fresh. The chicken parmigiana was served in a 6" baking dish, which seemed small for $14. (A small side of pasta was also provided, but I took it as leftovers.) Chicken (what little there was) tasted okay -- not overly breaded and well cooked. Sauce and cheese dominated the dish. The sauce tasted flat and drowned the overabundance of cheese; which probably took up more room in the dish than the chicken. This was my second good stop on a trip I had from Seattle to Reno with my sister. It honestly looks like a nice place from the inside, but the inside was dusty, stuffy, and just felt dead. Our waitress sat us down, asked us what we wanted to drink, but didn't come back with the drink for ten minutes. Then when we ordered, it took over half an hour to get our food even though there was only one other table there. In those thirty minutes, our same waitress had a full blown argument with two other people in the kitchen, an argument that our table and the other table could hear every detail of. I do appreciate that the waitress did come back with our food and a smile on her face, but she went right back into the kitchen to scream at whomever she was in a fight with. The food wasn't good, as my sister's meatball sub lacked basic seasoning, which was the same with my Italian street sausage, which really tasted like the cheapest cut of meat that they could've bought. I ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs Large portion to go and picked it up for a to go order. Cost me 14 dollars (I usually tip a small percentage for to-go). To my surprise, the togo bag was very small. When one orders a Spaghetti and Meatballs plate in the large size, they should expect to be fu. What I found inside was a Chinese food rice box full of spaghetti and meatballs. What a rip off. I am thoroughly unimpressed with the quality of this restaurant. I expected to be eating Spaghetti for the next two days. What kind of italian restaurant allows a large portion of food to be finished in one sitting? Not one that I will frequent. Taste was decent however. So, two stars. Make your portions a little larger and maybe you will have some return customers. Return customers = better than ripping off one on a single purchase. My friend and I met in Olympia for a weekend getaway. She's from Vancouver so it is a nice meet-in-the-middle point. While driving into town I drove past Casa Mia which looked like a nice little Italian place and suggested it for dinner. When we arrived for dinner the parking lot was packed, but luckily we found a street side spot close by. We were seated immediately and the service was quite prompt. I ordered the manicotti in the cream sauce and my friend had the lasagna. The salads were good and the warm rolls that our waitress brought were excellent. Both of us really enjoyed our dinners and the service was great too. We mentioned to our waitress we were staying at a nearby hotel and she brought us forks and extra bread so we could eat the leftovers later :) Overall we enjoyed the experience at Casa Mia and my next weekend trip to Olympia will definitely include a stop here again. read more

The wait to be seated was extremely long and crowded with people. Then the wait to be served was also ridiculously long. In fact, people who were seated after us were getting their drinks and appetizers before we even had our waiter come by. Totally unacceptable, not to mention that the guy had horrible B.O. and needed some deodorant ASAP! The food was okay, I guess. My son loved his pizza and ate the whole thing, but my husband's Alfredo wasn't all that great (his words) but his chicken parmesan was good. Awful. They used to have really good quality and hearty minestrone, but the new stuff is mushy, watery, and not tasty (tastes like cheap canned soup). They used to put a big dollop of pesto on it, but I hardly noticed the pesto this time. Had the half cannelloni half manicotti and was also very disappointed. I think I may have been expecting too much. The food was decent but nothing special. For italian food the prices were somewhat high and the portions were rather not generous like most Italian places. The place is decorated very average. Looks very casual compared to most. Service was average. I did like the fact that I overheard one waitress offer a gift certificate to another patron since they didn't make his pizza right which was nice. I was using a popular Italian restaurant chain in comparison and I don't hold that place in high regard either. The restaurant itself lends to the casual-almost-wants-to-be-fancy atmosphere that it breathes off. The tables are close together and feel strangely fast food like, but the service is excellent and fast. I love the decanters that they serve every beverage in, and the fact that they have real water goblets. As far as selection of food, I've never gotten past the appetizing salad and the potato pizza with truffle oil. Sometimes I go in, swearing that I'll try something new, and always I order a small potato pizza. It's an explosion on your taste buds that signals your addiction center. YIKES!! I've read several reviews and I have to say I can't believe what a bad rap this restaurant has been getting.. My wife and I spent a night on Fort Lewis to get away from the kids and decided to have a meal in Lacey. We wanted Italian and Casa Mia was right up our alley. We'd never been (I just read there's one in Puyallup near our home too). Thank God we went in blind because we had an amazing meal. My wife had the Manicotti and Cannelloni with Red wine and loved every bite!! I had the Fettuccini and Sausage with Meatballs and I felt like I was in Heaven it tasted to good! The bread was nice and warm and the wait staff was very attentive. If I had ANY complaint it's that I couldn't get a Bud Light or a Cherry Coke because they don't have Grenadine but I digress. I've never actually tried this place even though it is on a busy street, it's still kind of tucked in there. All I saw was happy hour and I was down to go! Haha Service was GREAT!! Our waitress was awesome. (Short blonde hair). She was super nice and checked on us frequently even though it started to hit rush hour. I recommend their fonduta with flatbread!!!! Went here on a weeknight with co-workers for dinner. We all had the all-you-can-eat spaghetti for $6.99. The spag was good (although nothing you couldn't make at home), but you can't really beat the price when you've got a hankering for cheap spaghetti and you're not at home. The rolls were delicious and more were brought upon request. The service was attentive and quick. The entrees were priced at $10 and up; which gets you the same portion size plus a salad. While on my visit to State Capitol, I decided to stop by Casa Mia with a group I was with. At first impression, the restaurant is really nice and on the inside it's even more attractive. We were made to feel welcome and were seated right away. The waitress quickly got our order and was back with our food within 20 minutes. Service is fantastic. I watched other tables as well, the staff was friendly and attentive. My son wanted pineapple on his pizza and he was vetoed. Without us asking the waitress brought over a side of pineapple. The Casa Mia salad was good. Made with ice berg lettuce, which is not my favorite. The lettuce was crisp. Also mozzarella cheese, and black olives. The salad came as described, and the blue cheese dressing was nice. The pepperoni in the pizza was excellent, but the sauce was not to my liking. I would have preferred more oregano and basil in my sauce. This sauce was more of a tomato flavor (strong tomato). The broiled steak had nice flavoring a, but I prefer my steaks grilled. The fettichini was very bland. The place was crowded. The food was not to my tastes, and there are other Italian restaurants. I will try again, as their may be other dishes I would like. read more
