This review is for Casa Mia's lasagna. I've ordered it since I was a kid and it is the only thing I order to this day. If you are looking for a slice from a pre-baked lasagna you won't find it here. They essentially layer everything together per order and throw it in the oven. It is a bit saucier than most would expect, but the sauce pairs beautifully with the sourdough rolls that come with the entree. Make sure to add on a side salad with their gorgonzola salad dressing. Went to the Casa Mia on Martin Way in Olympia. Our waitress (probably in her 30's, longer light red hair) was the nicest person ever. So very pleasant! We had 2 bowls of their French onion soup along with 2 orders of garlic bread. Good thing we didn't order anything more! Who charges over $35 for soup and bread?! That's just crazy! I really enjoy this place and their pizza. We always get the Strada Susina and it is literally our favorite pizza ever. Hands down. I work down the street so this place is conveniently located for state employees. I usually order the pizzas ahead of time because of work and getting off at the same time everyday. One time they forgot about my order and when I showed up, they had to start from scratch. Things happen so I sat and waited. I mean, it is my favorite pizza. The gentleman working there at the time offered me a free fountain drink for the inconvenience while I waited. I was shocked at the small kindness and left feeling good, even though my order was not originally recorded. A similar situation happened today. I waited 20 minutes for a pizza that should have been ready (pre-ordered). One of the employees came around and told me I would get a free pizza next time because of my wait/inconvenience. Again, I never asked for any compensation for the extra wait time or issue. This pizza is truly worth the wait. I seriously appreciate the vibe this place has. I've eaten here several times and I love the intimate feel of the restaurant and the attentiveness of their servers. The restaurant has a sweet little family owned Italian place type of charm. It can get pretty busy too, and the parking lot can be very challenging to navigate. Each time I've been here or ordered take out from here, the service has always been top notch. One of my favorite things to order is the gluten free pasta with pesto and shrimp. When ordering at the restaurant I've had no issues with getting a super delicious gf pasta piled high with bay shrimp and pesto sauce. Ordering to go has been a slightly different story and there have been numerous mistakes on either the gf pasta or the sauce; however, I've really appreciated the restaurant's ownership of the mistake each time and their willingness to make it right for me. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are piled high. While I don't live close by anymore, I still plan on frequenting this restaurant and enjoying their affordable gf pasta options. read more

We came here for dinner on Labor Day. My kids really wanted spaghetti. My kids got kids spaghetti and my husband and I got the all you can eat spaghetti. The server was very busy, but the other staff came out to help her clear tables. The food was so good, and we all 4 ate for under $50. Was able to dine-in the day before restaurants went back into lockdown. I opted for the lasagna while my gf ordered the spaghetti. We ordered cheesy garlic bread and a classic casa mia salad with shrimp for starters. Both were delicious. The bread was served warm and toasted just right. I enjoyed my lasagna and my gf thought her spaghetti was just ok. She felt that the meat sauce lacked flavor. Overall, the experience was still good. Despite a few really bad reviews here, we decided to give this restaurant a chance because our hotel was practically across the street and it was getting late. We are so glad we did. 2 glasses of red wine, a yummy roasted asparagus, prosciutto and cheese appetizer, spinach ravioli with pesto and an order of half & half manicotti and cannelloni came to less than $54 with tax. Everything came out piping hot and was delicious. Our waitress was friendly and efficient and brought us a basket of hot crusty Italian bread at no charge. Food: We had chicken parm, potato truffle pizza, 3 cheese chicken pizza, and french onion soup. Potato truffle pizza was really good but would have been better if they made the potatoes crispy before putting it on the pizza. Everything else was delicious!!! Spaghetti noodles definitely tasted homemade. I do wish they had eggplant parm. Staff: Our waitress was AMAZING!! She was quick and super friendly but not overbearing. Price: Pizza is more expensive than a chain restaurant but DEFINITELY worth it! So fresh and oven baked. Other items are average prices. For the price we paid the least we could of had was warm food. Only warm food was the bread every other dish was cold. Decided to go there for lunch with a co-worker, saw the mask notice at the door, so opened the door to ask to see if they had one, as I had none on me. (July 1st, 2020 around noon) I saw two employees with arms crossed approx 20ft down the hallway, with their masks on, and the first thing one said loudly to me was (GOTTA PUT IT ON BUDDY !!!...(the mask)) as he saw me reading the sign on the door, to which I had no objection but the way the message was conveyed and the defensive stance, was utterly unwelcoming (the place was empty at the time) I don't mind if the store has their own policies, but they should definitely be welcoming and not defensive and assuming. read more

I have been to every location and this is by far the worst one.. as far as the food goes. Each year I give them a chance to see if they have redeemed themselves to serve the same quality of food as the other locations. They do not even live up to the quality of the food compared to the Yelm location. If you know you know. I would make the drive to Olympia or Yelm if you're considering this restaurant at all. Again the food here is not prepared with quality, my lasagne had maybe 2 noodles and some cheese when It's usually fully loaded with all of that. Just go to the Yelm or Olympia location to compare... you'll see. Well my wife and I used to be regulars there. If one wants to feel what today's economic climate has done to quality and quantity of restaurant service than go here. Their foot quality is awesome, yet gets eaten away by sloppy service, less desirable sizes of dishes, making you almost feel you are everything but welcomed. My biggest complain is, why do you offer all you can eat spaghetti when you aren't willing to hold your end of the bargain? Day one had the spicy checked salad which came out warm on salad and was absolutely heavenly. Today I had the gluten free chicken and three cheese pizza. This white sauce is magical. Casa Mia is a small, sunny, family run casual Italian place. They have signs and "best of" awards touting their pizzas so that's what I ordered. A small pizza is between $10-14 and can feed a hungry husband or 2 lighter eaters. I opted for plain cheese which was described as "for the purist...perfectly crushed tomatoes, freshly grated cheese". It was....ok, I guess. The sauce was kind of blah, but the crust was nice and crisp. Here's the thing - too much cheese. I know, you're thinking "can there be such a thing as too much cheese?" Trust me - there was. And I feel like I can speak with some authority on the matter as I am from Wisconsin and I know my cheese. My dining partner had an antipasto salad that she wasn't impressed with. Bottom line - it's pretty expensive for what it is and the food is just ok. Edit: a few months later I received any extremely nice message from the owner - that they've revamped some of their items and to try them again. Not sure when I'll be in the area again, but I will. Went in for a quick lunch with a friend. I was a little disappointed that they were out of the gluten free pasta. I ended up having a gluten friendly pizza with pepperoni and salami, peppers and mushrooms which was fantastic. The coffee was great. Very calming and warm environment. What happened to their pizza?! They used to make my FAVORITE pizza. I called in an order to go on Sunday evening (large Casa Mia special with olives instead of mushrooms). I've ordered this same thing for years and years. I took it straight home and sat down for my first bite and was so disappointed. It's definitely not the same quality or taste it used to be. I won't be ordering from here again. I made it through the 1st piece and threw the rest away. The crust was really thick and doughy, and the ingredients didn't have the quality that they used to use. The toppings tasted like Little Caesar's quality. Been a customer since 1958 or so at the first Casa Mia in Aberdeen WA. The Lacey and Olympia "Casas" are much different from that original one OTHER than, they still serve damned good pizza. The menu is diverse Southern Italian. The pizzas now include gourmet varieties explaining how this local franchise has won some national competitions. Another consistent feature is good service. When you need a break from all the chains Olympia has to offer, Casa Mia is always a good pick. This particular location is right off Martin Way, just a few seconds off the I-5. I've been coming here for years with my family and they hardly ever disappointed. The waitstaff is always super friendly and accommodating, even when they're busy, there's usually plenty of parking, and you can be in and out real quick, or hang around for awhile. As far as food goes, it really depends on what you're getting - their pizza is award winning for a reason, it's the bomb. I also always enjoy their meatball sub and side salad combo for lunch. I like to save half my sub for leftovers and for some reason, after all the sauce has soaked into the bread been reheated, I like it even more. Call me weird, but it's delicious. Their pasta is hit or miss, some I've loved, some has just been alright. But everything is pretty reasonably priced so you can't go wrong! Always ask for some rolls as well, they're always fresh and amazing. This particular location has neat section where you can sit "outside" but it's really a greenhouse kind of feel, with all glass walls. That can be nice when it's rainy outside, as it usually is, but you don't wanna be indoors anymore. While it may not be the MOST impressive Italian place around, Casa Mia is a staple and I'd still recommend it to anyone looking for some good, authentic pizza on a lunch date. Went in with a group this evening and the waitress was very unprofessional. She seemed to be too busy to deal with simple requests. Refills took her awhile after she disappeared. I was here on Sunday afternoon for lunch, and it was a great experience! Everything was really clean and they were following distancing guidelines well, felt perfectly safe. The waitress provided exceptional service, and food was extra yummy. You could tell they put extra care into everything. I ordered the spinach cheese ravioli and the plating was so pretty, all the ravioli placed in a circle with a single basil leaf in the center, I wish I got a picture of it. Others in my party got the potato with truffle oil pizza and loved it, I'll have to try that next time. We've gone to various Casa Mia locations for years, they really upped their game this visit! I hate to leave this review, but I think honest feedback is crucial. We like the place and have eaten here several times, don't get me wrong, but I think it's quite average. A little more love in the kitchen could really push them over the edge to make them GREAT. The marinara sauce in my son's spaghetti was watery and there is zero love given to their house salad. Lettuce, bag mozzarella cheese, & can olives. I could be very wrong, but that's the taste and presentation. It doesn't feel like there's a passion in their food. It feels more like they have a good recipe using store bought ingredients. Fantastic for home cooking, but not for a restaurant concept where I expect better than I can do at home. I'm from out of town and order for togo. I don't know if they think that we're from out of town or what but the food we picked up was disappointing. We ordered Lasagna - it was edible but the sauce was bland. Then the Fettucini Alfredo with shrimp came with the small tiny prawn, not even a nice size shrimp! There was nothing with the pasta, so bland and consider they charged $18 for those tiny prawns I almost sent it back but we're tired from our trip to Mt. Rainier and didn't want to go back out again so we ate them. We cannot finish the pasta because it tasted horrible. I'll never recommend this restaurant to anybody.
