Worst food on 5th! Cramped noisy space with diner like service. Plenty of better options nearby

We secured same day reservations for 2 on a Friday evening at the bar counter. SERVICE: Excellent. Simone is an upbeat, friendly bartender who is very knowledgeable of the menu, attentive and personable. The interaction between himself, the servers and the chef was one of camaraderie. It made for a pleasant experience. FOOD: The regular size Salumi di Terra has 3 cheeses and 3 meats, along with onion jam, taralli (donut shaped crackers) and bread. Everything was fresh, and we watched the chef slice the prosciutto just before it was served to us. It was good size for 2 to share. The fettuccine Alfredo was cooked perfectly, however, the sauce was very mild flavor wise. The culurgiones (pasta stuffed with eggplant) was beautifully presented, but also quite light in taste. Both dishes didn't elicit the "triple fork" M MM MMM! rating. To be fair, Simone recommended the Tortelloni Alla Genovese, and when he discovered we were not over the top on the entrees we chose, he brought the chef out and a server (Stefania?) to help translate. Chef asked many questions, then insisted we try the tortelloni and whooshed back into the kitchen to make us each one to try (on the house). This dish had much more flavor than the 2 we had ordered. BAR: The bar itself has 5 comfy chairs and purse hooks under the countertop. The toscana by the glass is $18 and an average pour. ATMOSPHERE: Tastefully decorated, light music in the background, warm ambiance. The restroom's hand dryer blower was broken and there were no towels available. There were pesky fruit flies the entire time were there. We'd get one, and another took its place. It lessened the experience having to wave them away from the wine and food. It would be ideal if Casa Neri invested in some sort of trap so the guests are not the ones having to deal with those pests. read more

Carpaccio di Salmone - The menu described this dish as beet-marinated, but what arrived at the table were plain slices of salmon sashimi. There was no trace of beet flavor or color--nor any evidence of lime or other marinade as listed. I specifically ordered this because of the beet marinade, so I was quite disappointed. I brought this to the waiter's attention, and they insisted it was beet-marinated. When I asked them to clarify further, I was met with dismissiveness, which felt insulting. The customer service was poor, and it seemed like they assumed I wouldn't notice the discrepancy. If an item on the menu isn't available as described, the restaurant should communicate that upfront rather than serving something completely different and hoping guests won't care. On top of that, my husband ordered pasta that was supposed to be tagliatelle, but they substituted a different type of pasta without asking. Overall, this was a disappointing experience. We won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. read more

We came here back in December of 2022 and had a great meal here! We were really looking forward to coming back and having the same great experience. I made a reservation 2 months ahead of time to make sure we could get in. We got there at our reservation time and had to wait outside for 10 minutes while they waited for another table to leave. No big deal. I know they are a small restaurant and it's hard to find available seats. I'm not sure if the chef or ingredients changed from 2 years ago but we remember the butter being homemade in house, we were served just normal store bought butter. Which is fine, we were just disappointed as this was something we fondly remembered. The seafood and meat and cheese charcuterie boards were good, but we remember them being much better 2 years ago. The beet marinade salmon was definitely not marinated long enough as it was not pink and lacked that flavor. The service was not what we remembered either. They were very friendly and attentive last time. This time, they ignored us most of the evening and it was hard to get their attention. We were going to order more food but it had already been an hour and a half and we didn't want to keep waiting. I counted 24 people in the restaurant (including the bar) and 3 wait staff. Overall, we were not very impressed and will most likely not come back and stop recommending this place to all our family and friends who live down here. For $150, we expected a lot more. read more

As full time residents, we thoroughly enjoy trying the many different restaurants Naples has to offer. Unfortunately, we had our worst dining experience to date at Casa Neri on Saturday night. The appetizers had horrible texture, there was an issue with our wine with the waiter and our food came out at room temperature. We asked to have it warmed and were told that it wasn't possible and that our only option was to order another meal. We had all just taken one bite out of entrees. We will not be going back and are very surprised that this restaurant is owned by Molto, where we have always had fantastic food and service. read more

Awful experience here. Booked a reservation and showed up on the exact time of reservation and was told couldn't be seated, even though the reservation was made days in advance. All tables were full and was treated terrible for not honoring a reservation. At a place where they charge you $50 per person if you don't show up to your reservation or cancel an extremely long 72 hours in advance, it seems very hypocritical that they offer you nothing and treat you terribly for not holding up their end of the bargain. Would absolutely not reccomend read more
