My wife and I have been to Tulia's all around Naples and the Bar Tulia in the Mercato also doesn't disappoint. We began with the brussels sprouts and enjoyed the Bucatini and the Rigatoni-all were amazing. The staff was just attentive and sweet. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and it is located in the Mercato so you can take a walk and enjoy some shopping after a delicious meal. Finally had a guy server show up and when I inquired about hh he gladly told us we just missed it. I said the obvious; that we've been sitting there for 20 minutes, my friend was there 5 minutes before me. He just ignored my comment and didn't honor hh prices. If you can't get a server to a table within 15 minutes of seating guests, that's a problem. We should've been granted hh prices. That's really pretty shady Bar a Mercato. Bar Tulia is a fantastic dining experience! Adam (mixologist) is knowledgeable and engaging. Old Fashioned was on point. Made was Woodford Bourbon. I ordered a Pinot Grigio which was chilled perfectly. The octopus is unbelievable. Tender delicious pieces of perfection. Had a great time sitting at the bar and engaging with other patrons. Two things struck me there. First the bartenders were working very hard making a wide selection of exotic drinks, yet took the time to banter with folks at the bar. Really nice guys! Secondly, I was impressed to see the Restaurant Manager, Diana Borda, happily pitching in (they were slammed) to catch initial drink orders and deliver drinks! Worst restaurant in Mercato, and I might even say Naples overall. The service was HORRIBLE and slow. No one came to give us water on a 90 degree day until we sat at our table for about 15 minutes. No one is friendly and about 5 different people come to serve you so you don't actually know who to call upon for service or to give a tip to. 2nd problem is the portions. They are the smallest size of anything that I've seen here. Don't come hungry because you will not be satisfied. Don't forget to bring your checkbook though because for $12 you can get a slice of white bread with a tomato as a "happy hour" treat. You can get better food at BRAVO 3 storefronts down the way at Mercato and have much better service as well. The best item of the meal was the pizza as it is very traditional style and seemingly cooked in the brick oven they have inside. The places I WOULD recommend for Italian are Caffe Milano and La Trattoria on 5th Ave S. Please don't be fooled by the crowds at Bar Tulia. Unless you're "family" they don't care about you. Pro tip: don't forget your own hand sanitizer because they don't have soap in the bathroom so god only knows how the staff wash their hands. read more

Great spot- for happy hour, dinner, any time of day. Most recently I visited for Happy Hour- it's from 2:30-5:30! What a perfect way to end the work day happy hour is available throughout the restaurant, not just at the bar. I really enjoyed the tiki drinks- they are flavorful and not too sweet, and there's a good amount of alcohol. My friend ordered the fried chicken plate- a pretty large portion, and tasty too, with 4 pieces of chicken, good coleslaw and lots of fries, all for just $15! It was definitely slammed during happy hour and you may have to wait for a table. We got there around 5:20, and since we said were just there for happy hour, they needed our table by 6:15. We were out around 6 anyways. Our server was very friendly and remembered to check in on us plenty of times even though she was very busy. 4 of us went for dinner. We ordered 1 drink each and my $8 draft beer arrived in a 10 oz water glass, filled with 8 oz of beer. Kind of a ripoff. My group ordered 1 hamburger, 2 penne vodka and 1 lasagna entrees. The pasta was delicious but the portions were a joke. My $20 penne vodka had 14 penne noodles served in a bowl. 14 noodles. I counted them. Took 5 seconds to count the noodles. The amount would have fit on a 4" milk saucer for a cat. I ate the meal in 3 fork stabs. How disappointing. The same for the lasagna dish. The portion was the size of a cellphone. The total bill came to $207 (tip included). After dinner, we went to Dairy Queen because we were all still hungry. If you are starving, go to a nearby restaurant, not this place or you will leave hungry. read more

Absolutely a place-to-be in the area. Though it's in a shopping mall environment, they've created a nice vibe. The crowd was a mix of 20s-50s, but I think it trends toward the 20s-30s as the night goes on. It's definitely a place for dates or to find a date. We were a group of 6 and sat outside. There was a constant flow of fabulous cars driving by partially obscured). And a Rolls Royce, Ferrari, and McLaren was parked close by. Drinks were very good, and many commented on the margaritas. The wine was warm, but in hindsight, it's not really a place for wine. The food was very good. While I don't think anyone was in awe of their meal, all were pleased. I stopped by Bar Tulia at Mercato on Christmas Eve expecting a special dinner, but left extremely disappointed with both the food and how the situation was handled by management. I ordered one of the dinner specials advertised as U10 (colossal) scallops with risotto, priced at $54. What arrived was a plate with three very small scallops, each measuring roughly 1¼ to 1 1/2 inches in diameter--clearly not consistent with what is commonly understood to be U10 scallops. When I brought this to our server's attention the second time she offered to have the manager come speak with us. The manager stated that a U10 scallop could be as small as 1.6 ounces, which did not align with what was served and also is questionable. I explained that the scallops on my plate were well under 1.6 ounces each and that I am familiar with standard scallop sizing. The manager then offhandedly offered to bring one additional scallop, which felt more like an insult than a solution. Adding another undersized scallop does not correct the fact that the dish itself was misrepresented. At no point was there an apology, a replacement with properly sized scallops, or any adjustment to the bill. For a restaurant charging premium prices--especially on a holiday evening--I expected better quality control and far better customer service. While mistakes happen, dismissing a valid concern and offering a token fix rather than a real resolution ensured this will be my last visit to Bar Tulia. read more

This was our first visit to Bar Tulia. We were very pleased with the food, drinks, and our server. We were less pleased with the cuteness of the hostess stand staff. We had made a reservation several weeks prior, selecting inside standard dining; however, we were seated outside, at a terrible table right on the main thoroughfare walkway. When I politely asked for a different table inside, the hostess acted like I was crazy, and I was essentially told there was no other option. We were not offered the option of waiting a bit for an appropriate table, which we would have done. First timer, Pretty rough coming in here on a lower carb eating day. Was pretty surprised, as this place was a pretty good hit. I had the Charcuterie board as an appetizer with the wifey. My 90 year old mother and I came here and our food took over one hour. When we politely asked we got attitude. Told it was "busy". Since when is 5 tables sat busy???? Salad has plenty of sweet pear and crunchy crotons and was dressed perfectly. Pizza crust was airy and tasty with yeasty notes and a perfect bite I believe the prosciutto was topped with a sherry or brandy mayonnaise. My party was sceptic but ended up being their favorite dish. I loved every salty and sweet bite myself. The Bolognase was served with fresh al dente noodles and the sauce was a balance of sweet and tangy and was devoured by all 3 of us quickly. The pastas were yummy too, however, I wasn't a huge fan of the pasta dough, I thought it was too doughy but the other people I was with loved it so maybe I'm just picky when it comes to pasta dishes. We wanted to book a birthday dinner for 14. At first we agreed on 2 locations that would be tight for 14 but good for our party and booked the reservation. When we called to confirm which location, the story had changed. Now they could not guarantee any particular area unless we agreed to a $1,200 minimum spend before tax and tip. Based on the menu prices, we would probably be at half that amount. I would have no problem with a minimum per person ($40?) and would pay for any cancellations. We are not cheap, but that minimum for 14 is unreasonable. We are locals, and there are 600+ restaurants in Naples. Plenty of other choices! read more

We stopped into Bar Tulia for a quick drink and appetizer as we were wandering through the plaza. First, I love the atmosphere - the little rooms felt cozy and were perfect for chatting amongst friends. We tried the espresso martini, which was very strong - in espresso and vodka. I wish it had a bit of a cream added to cut some of the bitterness of the espresso, but ultimately it was very, very good. Brussel sprout appetizers are always one of my favorites and this was no exception. Know that it does have meat added, which is a perfect addition, but does remove some people from being able to have it. I loved the meat and sprout convo, it was a nice surprise. The burr burrata was also quite good. It was a huge chunk with ample olive oil sprinkled on top. Definitely an easy appetizer that everyone will like. read more
