Stopped in for some food after checking into the hotel in Yreka. It was late and things were closing but casa Ramos was right next door. I ordered a Jalisco style enchilada with a grilled jalapeño, ranchero beans and Mexican rice. My wife ordered tacos, refried beans and rice. The beans on my wife plate were thicker than I generally like but flavor was exceptional. The Jalisco enchilada was excellent. Best I've had in a long time. We split the tacos and they were done well. Cannot complain. We come through here 4 to six times a year. This is an excellent stop. Our waiter Carlos was the bomb. Exceptional experience. Cannot recommend highly enough. And they have many top shelf tequilas as well. read more

Fast, very friendly service helped me get back on the road quickly. The ground beef burrito was delicious! The celery in it was surprising, but good. The restaurant was clean and inviting, and the bathrooms were old, but very clean. Easy on and off the interstate. Will definitely stop here again on another road trip. read more

This was the dinner choice that we chose last night after we got checked into the hotel. The hospitality of the crew working last night was particularly good. As the food was also pretty good and just the right amount of portion. Seems like it could be one of their most popular, Mexican restaurants within the location based off of the clientele that was visiting whether they were staying at the same hotel, or From a few exits up. They have a pretty big menu sided with lots of choices. They also have a decent sized bar area but we did not have any drinks this time around. Overall fairly decent place to catch some good food. Not sure if it was sold but their was a sudden drop in food quality, portions and an increase rudeness. When questioning the smaller portions and quality compared to the past the lady in front was rude and nasty and defended the cook rather than politely answering the question. I'm sure it's hard to make money in the current environment but maintaining quality and getting rid of the nasty people can go a long ways to keep customers returning. The food was spendy and it was sub par to put it kindly. The host offered us at a bar height table with a 3 year old and 13month old. I declined due to safety and functionality. How was a high chair supposed to work there? Our babies head would be below the table!? They said the wait was 15 minutes if we didn't take it. As we waited our kids were crying and struggling. We visited Casa Ramos last night as we were traveling through Yreka and had a delightful dinner. My wife tried the lamb shanks (Borrego) and I had the Plato Mexicano (Carne Asada, a chicken Taquito, a chili rellano and a Jalisco - Cheese - Enchilada). The taste of all the dishes was wonderful and the portions were generous. Neither my wife nor i could finish the rice and frijoles sides served with the entres. The ingredients were fresh and the blends of spices were perfect. The staff was friendly and the typical Mexican restaurant decor was personalized by large family portraits and some initial decorations for Día de los Muertos. I don't think I've ever experienced Mexican food that needed salt until tonight. Maybe it would've been better if they were happy that we walked in. We came in 30 minutes before close and were almost turned away. We were sat at the first table directly across from the cash register which also happens to be where the bus girl stares at you. We left only ten minutes after their posted closing time, but you'd have thought we murdered the busgirl's grandmother. Our server was nice enough, but the check was dropped 10 minutes before close and while we were still eating. Kinda crappy. An offer for a 2nd margarita might've been nice, and could've helped me forget the dagger stares and early check drop. read more

Longtime customer up until recently. Had the tacos Al carbon a couple of weeks ago. Hadn't been in for quite some time. Can't really afford it anymore, prices have gone through the roof. Tacos Al Carbon have always been one of my favorites. Not anymore! The tacos were filled mostly with diced tomato, very little meat. I guess they figure if they triple prices and cut back on meat by stuffing food with veggies they make a lot more profit. Paying more for less!! I'm done! Maybe I'll go try Pueto Vallarta. read more

Yesterday we order 2 Chicken Fajita's to go, no cheese. The order was so cold it felt like it came out of the refrigerator, the chicken was sliced so thin that it appeared to be chicken jerky, the onions were raw not cooked, 1 slice of bell pepper each uncooked. My organization had a lunch meeting in Yreka. I had an extremely difficult time finding lunch catering that delivers in the area. I'm unfamiliar with Yreka since my organization's location is in four hours away from Yreka. I first reached out to Casa Ramos in late September for a catering request for November 18. Carlos R. responded to my inquiry within 24-hours. Carlos informed me he was going on vacation and will follow up when he returns after week. A week later Carlos followed up. He was very thorough and reassuring in explaining Casa Ramos' catering services. We communicated numerous times until the day of the meeting. I didn't attend the meeting; however, colleagues reported delivery and setup were on schedule. Food was delicious. I will definitely use Casa Ramos for future meetings in Yreka. I will also recommend Casa Ramos to colleagues planning meetings in Yreka. It's was a good and professional experience. Carlos is professional and delivers quality service and food. read more

My husband and I were famished after exploring the surrounding Mt. Shasta area. SO glad we stopped here! The host, and I presume his wife, were very welcoming and cordially welcomed every patron. I ordered one of the lunch specials: the chicken fajitas. They were moist and plentiful and totally DELICIOUS! Again fantastic beyond friendly service from again Chevo (checking in (from wait staffing across the room to say hi)( had spelling wrong on last review) and magnificent Cat behind the bar and took great care of us. Today was not a good day for a visit to Casa Ramos in Yreka. Halfway through eating my combination plate of enchilada and taco I bit down on a chip of porcelain plate that was concealed in my meal. I quickly spit out the fragments on the plate and brought it to the waitresses attention. She was kind enough to refund my meal, but I still left with a uneasy feeling that there might be sharp pieces of porcelain in my stomach. The lunch experience followed us all the way home down I-5 to Shasta county where my wife ran into the house after arrival and experienced immediate diarrhea. Friday night and the joint is hopping! We were shown a booth and then comes chips, salsa and water. Menu is huge and we were given at least a decade to wade through it. I order the albondigas soup to start and the camarones monterey as my entree. Much time passes and our bowl of chips somehow disappear. We summons our waiter with the old school call of "chips". More chips come but somehow the soup is still in the pot. I throw our waiter a world class stink eye and she brings the soup. The soup is steaming, includes 3 meatballs and a farmers market full of vegetables. Before I get one bite of the soup, Wonder Woman appears with our entrees. Oh great I sigh as now I must adopt a cadence of soup, slurp, shrimps, tortilla, fixens and back to soup. Damn you Wonder Woman, I must work for my food. Food is just OK and service was a bit off. Price for soup was $4.95 and shrimp rang in at $17.95. My wife's plate of lettuce ah tostada rang the register at a whopping $9.95. Big place and perhaps highly regarded for Yreka but just average in our books. We stay in this town 3-4 times a year. We might be back. read more

I ate at the restaurant in Corning a few years ago when I used to fish a lot at the Woodson Bridge boat ramp and I love the chili relleno. I was passing through Yreka And had to stay tonight so I noticed that there was a Casa Ramos in Yreka. I was able to go over and have dinner there and I was totally impressed with the food.
