A small bistro in a little town of Montague, this eatery is well worth seeking out. Clean and well lit, it is nothing elaborate, but very pleasant. The papaya salad is very tasty, as are the egg rolls. We enjoyed a Father's Day special (bao flight) and found it to be quite delicious. For dessert, we ordered the mango sticky rice. I highly recommend seeking this establishment out and enjoying what they have to offer.

We ordered the crispy pork belly with sticky rice, drunken noodles, and the fish with tomato sauce served with jasmine rice. The first dish, the crispy pork belly with sticky rice, was a mixed experience. The sticky rice was soft and delicious, just like homemade. However, the pork belly didn't seem very fresh. It had an unpleasant smell, almost like the meat was starting to spoil. Next were the drunken noodles. The flat noodles were rubbery and tasted like they had been left out too long and had dried out. The zucchini was bitter, and the only part of the dish that tasted good was the carrot. The last dish was the fish with tomato sauce and jasmine rice. The jasmine rice had a slight brown tint instead of the bright white color you would expect from freshly cooked rice. It looked and smelled like it had been sitting in the rice cooker for far too long. On a positive note, the fish itself was the best part of the entire meal. It was flavorful and enjoyable. Overall, the outstanding customer service wasn't enough to make up for the disappointing food quality. Based on this experience, I probably won't be returning.

We ordered the yellow curry, a noodle dish, pho, and the coconut custard for dessert. Every single dish was delicious. Some had a nice kick to them--but the kind of spice that keeps you going back for another bite rather than overwhelming the flavors. As an added bonus, the view from the window is absolutely stunning, with Mount Shasta in all its glory. If you're driving along I-5, this is a fantastic stop in Weed, CA. Delicious food, warm hospitality, and beautiful scenery. Highly recommend!

We ordered the pad Thai, yellow chicken curry, papaya salad, and an avocado smoothie. I saw from pics from other reviewers and it seems they just skipped other ingredients and brought out a plain dish of papaya salad with a side of cabbage, no herbs or anything else. The pad Thai was on the sweet side and was just ok. The curry lacked flavor and appeared to be watered down. The smoothie was more liquid, expected to be thicker. Total price for three dish and smoothie, almost $80 and some change. So very pricey for amount of food provided and lack of taste.

They insinuate that no matter the cost, you should take time to make it to this restaurant. They are completely correct. GPS was programmed for a different place but we ended up here. At first glance there's not much to look inside the restaurant. At the time, the place was empty. We were the only customers. It would be a three star rating just by looking. You have to question, is this a restaurant and is it open? We were greeted by the owner/chef/server/greeter! A one man operation. Very friendly, personable and knowledgeable chef. A cool dude. I give this place a five star because of the food and the one man staff. The BBQ was spot on delicious. The Pork Spareribs (1 rack) with 2 rice plate (for two people) was juicy and full of flavorful smoke and Thai influences. The Three Smoked Meat rice plate was also delicious. The smoking and Bbq are done using wood. No charcoal or gas. You can really taste the natural wood smoke flavor in every bite. I'm glad we found Asian American BBQ by accident, I'm also glade it was not his usual rush hour time when we arrived! This place is a classic cliche phrase "don't judge a book by its cover." If ever we are back in Weed, CA, we're definitely be back!

Staff is friendly and service is quick. The restaurant is fairly small and somewhat easy to miss, but the flavors in their meals are big! Their curry dishes are wonderful - I tried both the green and panang curry. The panang curry I ordered with "medium" spice, which was the perfect amount of heat. If you're out to dine with someone, I also recommend sharing their large side plate of rice, which is $4, but when they say large, they mean LARGE. The bowl they bring you is a monstrosity! Of all the wonderful dishes, especially the variety of Asian cuisines I had while in Medford, I think this one tops the list.

At first there was just the three of us, and another couple. But as the night progressed more and more started coming in.. I got worried for a sec when we didn't see any Asians dining here. But as we were heaving a few started showing up. To me when you see Asians dining at an Asian restaurant then it must be good. All there of us are Asians. But about the food...we were surprised how crispy the pork belly with Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce was. It was our fave dish of the night. The chicken satay was surprisingly moist and not dry like must places. My friends said they had better tofu with noodle dish. I also had better tasting Thai iced tea. But it was still refreshing. Gals were friendly, place was clean nothing fancy. Bathroom was clean enough. I guess their toilet was not strong enough to handle the seat covers. They asked to only flush toilet paper. So I had to throw my seat covers in trash like everyone else did. It was pretty weird if you ask me, but understandable if they get plugged toilets which is no fun. Unless they only have a septic tank. But whatever. So we are in a foodie road trip, and this is not part of the collection of places we're heading to in CA. Just a random place we found via Yelp. Will we come again, probably not since we live two states away. But I sure hope the locals support this place. All in all it was not a bad experience.
