     menu for mexican restaurant

This was our first time coming in. It is nice to see another Mexican restaurant in town. We were promptly greeted and seated as we walked in the door. Our server came right over and got our drink orders. And then we were given chips and two bowls of salsa. The salsa is not spicy at all but was thick and full of tomato flavor. It was tasty. I ordered the pollo con crema. Sliced chicken in a creamy cheese sauce. The sauce was thick and rich and the chicken was tender. The portion size was very large. My mother tried the Burrito Texano. It had chicken and shrimp in it (not sure if other meat too but I think there might have been steak in it) as well as green peppers. It was large. She said it was tasty. I had a medium sized frozen strawberry margarita. The flavor was very good but it definitely wasn't strong. But that works for me because I'm not a big drinker. My mother and sister had regular margaritas. They also said the flavor was great but definitely not a strong drink. We had a great experience. The prices were very reasonable. The place was very clean. Food came out fast and was delicious. We will be back.

An excellent little store and food counter in Lavonia!…read more They have the best tacos I've had in the area (and the al pastor tacos are as good as I've ever had). Bonus? Most of the tacos (with doubled soft corn shells) are only $1.50! My kids love the chicken quesadillas ($8). The green sauce that comes with it (in a container) is just the right flavor/spice (they also have limes with them and garnish with radishes... it works!). Another bonus? They sell the premixed al pastor by the pound (along with other meats). We bought a few pounds yesterday for taco night (on a Monday). It was excellent. The selection of tacos, burritos, etc. is really good (including guts and tongue; there's a photo of the menu here on Yelp). No fish, vegetarian, or vegan, though. The store has exactly the kinds of things you'd hope for. The last bonus? The service is friendly and efficient. I go there every Sunday. I've never seen it empty and it caters to all our local folks with joy. Keep it up Los Gomez and God bless you!

The food is the best that I have had as far as authentic Mexican food. Did I mention cheap? Tacos are only $1.50 each! This is cheaper than Taco Bell and this is actually real food! They have fresh cut meats like chicken, beef and pork. They have real pork skins that they fry up. Us southerners love those. They have a huge selection of Mexican goods to be a small Mexican store. From the moment we walked in, it was clear this place is a local favorite. The restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and the menu offers a great selection of traditional Mexican dishes, along with a few Salvadoran influences that make it even more unique. One of the highlights of the evening was meeting the owner, Antonio Ramirez. Throughout the meal, he made his way around the restaurant, stopping at each table with a smile to ask how everything was and to make sure guests were enjoying themselves. That level of personal attention is becoming increasingly rare and speaks volumes about how much he cares about both the food and the customer experience. It's also obvious that the local college crowd has discovered this gem. There were plenty of students enjoying dinner, and it seemed like the margaritas were especially popular--particularly when Mom and Dad were picking up the tab! Fortunately, the margaritas are well worth it, with generous pours and plenty of options to choose from. The food was excellent, the portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. Most importantly, the flavors felt authentic and homemade rather than the typical chain restaurant version of Mexican food.
