Ala Carte Al Pastor - not good flavor. Hardly any meat. Felt like ground meat and not tacos al pastor at all.
    Victoria P.

Expensive. Bland. Not Authentic. Good service. This is good for those friends who want to "try" Mexican food, but don't know what Mexican food is. Per Google, they advertise "Casual spot offering traditional Mexican dishes such as tacos and burritos, plus beer and wine." And their website claims to be the "best tacos in New Mexico". The prices were insane for what we received. $4-$5 per 1 taco that is mostly tortilla and not much much filling. The pastor and fish were two of the worst tacos we tried. I couldn't even finish them because of the texture/taste. Plus, the portion sizes were TINY for the price. There was hardly any pastor meat in the actual taco. Same applies for the fish taco. It was filled with a lot of veggies and a small tiny piece of fish which was very slimy. Again, not worth it for $4-$5 per 1 taco. Service was fine, but the tacos were not good. You enter, order at the counter, and seat yourself. When a restaurant has a set up like this I expect the food to be more solid and don't have high expectations of the service. I'm just looking for good food. If you're looking for authentic Mexican street tacos - this place is not for you. If you are looking for an upgrade from Taco Bell - this place is or you. *Had to update my review with more details as I was accused of slander - this is my opinion. Again - service was fine, but these tacos, as a Mexican American, were not good. Very Americanized and again - an upgrade from Taco Bell. I had it at 2 stars, but after the response below I have decided to drop it to 1.*

The BEST tacos in ABQ! Especially the "puffy taco"! Absolutely incredible! Nice new seating area. Anything you get here is amazing! Great food! Great people!

Sooooo I'm not sure what happened. I had a Carne Asada burrito plate, came out looking nothing like the pictures, not smothered no chile. I didn't ask for it that way but this is what I got maybe I read the menu wrong. But the person in front of me ordered the same thing as me and look at that burrito plate and then look at mine. The loaded fries are okay. The rice 5/10 and the beans 0/10 substitute those everytime. I don't know look at my pictures, that plus a drink which is like a medium size everything total was like $30. I tried to add some heat with their salsa bar and the salsa had no heat. I was expecting more from what i read about this place. Your mileage may vary. The dine in experience here is bad, seating is cramped and poor. Usually when a place looks like this the food makes up for it but not here. If you come here get take out.

We stopped at Casa Taco on a cross country road trip and it did not disappoint! I did a quick search online for quick casual food spots in downtown Albuquerque since we have our cat with us in the car so we would need something quick that we can eat in the car. Casa Taco popped up as an option and had pretty good reviews so we decided to stop by. The service was quick and the tacos were tasty!! We both ordered the brisket green chile tacos which were incredibly flavorful. A must try! We also both ordered shrimp tacos and I was pleasantly surprised with how fresh and plump the shrimp were! I'm someone who loves spicy food, so adding their to-go salsa on top was the perfect addition! Lots of flavor and spice and clearly homemade. Great place for anyone driving through town looking for a lunch spot!

Great taco variety! They have tacos that they call puffy tacos and they are a hybrid tortilla that is hard to explain...all you need to know that it's good! The nachos are huge and delicious and made with homemade chips. I would recommend trying the green verde puffy taco it's made with beef sautéed in green chile sauce. They have a great variety of Mexican food and you can order a la carte or as a meal with red chile rice and pinto beans.

Hmmmmm, I regret to say that I didn't really enjoy my most recent visit to Casa Taco. I have been there before, pre-covid. Never had any experiences like this one. The staff was kinda, just all having their own little conversations, or on their phones. The cashier was nice and all, and she greeted us but the staff came off pre-occupied. We ordered a taco plate, several ala-carte tacos along with a double order of the fried mushrooms. Our food arrived fairly quickly, missing an order of mushrooms that was still being made. We dug in....and here's how they were. * Tacos, delicious! (We ordered brisket, ground beef and chicken) * Mushrooms, were oily and kind of tough. (Might have been precooked and sitting under a heat lamp) * Rice, overcooked from sitting in the heat. (Almost broke a tooth biting down on a spoonful) * Potatoes, basic. (But at least edible after trying the rice) I recommend coming to have tacos. Only tacos. Don't bother with a plate and sides, and def don't get the fried mushrooms. I will say that the cashier offered us a new batch of rice to take home....when we opened and tried it, once home...it was still bad, undercooked, hard pieces of rice. meh.

The young ladies were great! The food is bomb! A must try if you're passing thru! We are traveling home to California! Did not disappoint! The place is clean!!Smells clean and the restrooms were clean and smelled great.

Small and dingy restaurant... should have walked away! For the price they charge here, I had much higher expectations than what I received. If I could return my order, I would! I've honestly never been so appalled by tacos! I ordered the 2 brisket green Chile plate ($14) and an iced tea which apparently was $4+ because my total for one person was almost $20. So I was very shocked that the iced tea tastes of soap/dishwater, the rice and beans are bland and flavorless, and the tacos are soggy and small. The beans were also vastly undercooked and nearly inedible. Rice is completely bland. The meat inside the tacos does not have flavor and is very chewy. The only saving grace for me was the corn tortillas, which are very nice and crispy. Green Chile salsa was decent also, but not spicy. Overall, I will not return or order from here ever again. In a state where tacos are a common meal, I am surprised this place has survived. What a waste of $20.

This may be our new favorite taco place. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was fresh and delicious. Featured favorites for this visit were the fluffy tacos and house made chips and salsa. I'm looking forward to sampling more items on our next Taco Tuesday adventure.

The service was warm and friendly. They have a good selection of food - we wanted to try so many things. I had the chicken, barbacoa, and al pastor tacos. My wife tried the vegetartian tacos. Our kids ordered the asada baked potato and the asada nachos. Everything was delicious and tasted authentic. We've eaten many good meals in Mexico and this food tasted as good & possibly better! It's been a while since we've been this excited and satisfied while eating a meal - everyone was so quiet devouring their food. There's an app you can use to order ahead & have ready to pick up using the drive through. They have an awesome menu & delicious food. The churros & agua fresca are great. The main area is family-friendly, but there is a bar/more lively indoor area & outdoor seating where you can hang out with your friends while having drinks and good food. There is an energetic happy vibe here. We have added this restaurant as one of our top go-to places when we go out to eat. Our kids get excited when we tell them that we're going to eat here! Let me start by saying that this Oaxaca Queso was one of the BEST chile con queso dips I have ever had. It's incredibly tasty and packed full of flavors with delicious fresh ingredients that you can taste with every bite. Just for the queso alone I would come back but let me get to the tacos too. So I had a Brisket, Carnitas and Asada Tacos and I have to say that they were ALL absolutely delicious and flavorful. I didn't particularly enjoy the corn tortilla and they double the tortilla on every taco if you like that. I just wished that they used a tortilla that had a better taste or at least hit it with some light oil on the plank but this can also be that I am Mexican and I'm use to eating my tacos on homemade corn tortillas so I'm picky there. Regardless these Tacos are some of the best I have had in town for sure. My hubby had the Brisket, Battered Fish & Battered Avocado and Absolutely Raved about all of them! He wanted to make sure that I was happy because he knows that if I am not happy at a restaurant- we will never ever come back and he loved his food so much he wanted to make sure we would come back. I eased his mind and told him we would definitely be back because like I said above - the Oaxaca Queso Dip was enough to hook me and then I sampled all 6 different tacos and loved them all. They also have a salsa bar with 7 different salsas for every different palette and different meat and also limes to complement your tacos. I like the variety of the salsas because depending on the meat some go better than others. Ordering on the kiosks was fun, easy and allowed you to see everything they actually offer.
