The rooms were Tuscan style architecture, which didn't get me too excited, but they were clean, and the bed was cozy and comfortable! The king bed room is quite large, and we got a room on the 5th floor with one of the best ocean view possible!! The beach and views were nothing short of amazeballs, but I recommend going to a different beach if u want to wade in the water and do shoreline body surfing. The beach has too many rocks that could slice you up pretty badly! The hotel doesn't have self serve parking, so you are required to valet your car. The hotel is very close to many ships and restaurants, so you don't really need a car if you don't plan on exploring outside of the main city limits of Puerto Vallarta. Hotel staff are all very pleasant and accommodating and do their very best to ensure you have a wonderfully pleasant stay!!

The spa services were super-pricey but thankfully we were able to use some resort credits there. Pressure was way too soft for massages though, except for Petra who was very skilled. Swedish massages were a joke--just felt like lotion was being lightly applied to the skin. Beach massages for a fraction of the cost are truly the way to go! The hydrotherapy area is lovely, however, and Roberto is amazing on the men's side. Ernesto was super-helpful at water sports. Creperie should definitely open at 3:00pm vs 5:00!! Housekeeping is very thorough. Hoping Saturday fireworks will return-we really missed seeing those! The staff are very appreciative of cash tips throughout the day (we bring LOTS of $1s and 5's even with all-inclusive plan). Cons: Some maintenance issues were frustrating--broken elevator one day, air conditioning needed attention, as did broken makeup mirror. Planned power outage for 5 hours was very inconvenient. Hairdryers are weak, as is dryer machine for laundry. These need updates. And Check-in always takes way too long. Nonetheless, we really love this resort and hope to return time and again.

They suggested menu items and were quick to bring whatever we requested. At dinner, Rodolfo stood out with his flawless service and impressive talent for making the boozy flambéed coffee. His menu suggestions were spot-on as well! At the beach, Carlos was a tireless worker who anticipated our every need. After the first day, he had everything set up and ready to go, knew all of our preferences, and continually went above and beyond. Erick and the entire team at Tao Beach Club were also fantastic. On our last night, they decorated our table with a beautiful flower arrangement and surprised us with a dessert plate thanking us for visiting. We spent a lot of time at the pool, where Juan, Ramón, and Ulises took excellent care of us. I also used the gym and found it well-equipped. On one occasion, it had already closed for the day (after 5 PM), but they graciously opened it for me. The spa was great! I had a 50-minute Harmony massage with Lourdes, who was not only an amazing masseuse but also incredibly sweet and attentive. Hotel Mio is owned by Groupo Posada that owns the nearby Fiesta Americana and Friendly Hotel; both of which are all inclusive. The check in was easy, and the employees were friendly. We stayed in a room with two double beds and view of the city and the ocean in the distance. Regarding the room, it was clean spacious, and had everything one would expect. Being only four years old, there were minor signs of wear. It located on the Main Street so depending on room location, one might consider earplugs. The hotel has two free rental bicycles and a fantastic rooftop pool that boasts sunset views. Nightly, there is a DJ present from 5pm to 8pm. There is also a bar at the rooftop as well as food service. Regarding the food service, we attempted to order one evening but the server said the kitchen was backed up, and it could take up to an hour to get some basic food. Thus, we sought a snack elsewhere. Regarding the location, it is above average. There are restaurants and a mall nearby that involves a 5 minute walk. In addition, it is a short drive to downtown. Beach access is allowed through the adjacent Friendly Hotel. Just remember to take a Mio pool towel as there are no rentals on the beach. Overall, the Mio was a clean affordable non all inclusive option in a decent location. Since is was not all inclusive, there was no guilt leaving the hotel to hangout, eat, and drink downtown. Following the few nights at the Mio, we moved onto the beachfront Fiesta Americana to solely hangout at the resort.

Upon arrival of this hotel there was a parking garage for their guests. Once we finally got checked in and in our room,  we noticed that the staff was maintaining the facility at a very high standard of cleanliness. Lastly, the spouse and I truly enjoyed our visit with a very comfortable night of rest at a very affordable rate. We decided to pay the additional daily fee for use of their restaurant for breakfast. The restaurant is a buffet style and offers plenty of healthy options for everyone. For guests that didn't pay for breakfast, there is the option of paying from their menu as well. The front desk can provide assistance with money exchange as well as assistance in getting a local taxi. This hotel does not have any hotel shuttle to and from the PVR Airport. This hotel has an very suitable gym located on the 2nd floor, and we got our daily workout every morning. The 11th floor has an outdoor pool and jacuzzi for the guests to enjoy. Also on the 11th floor was a bar that offered refreshments and a small menu for lunch and dinner options. Great stay, I would use this location again!
