I went here for dinner the other day. This is a relatively new spot in the area. Upon walking in, it felt like they had spent quite a bit on building this place out. It has all custom flooring and each seat has fancy embroidered logos and all. I think the booth was a bit tight. I was also a bit surprised that the place was quite empty. A few more people sis come in while we were there, though. By the time we left, I'd say there were like 7-8 tables seated. The service was just ok. I mean, it was kind of slow. Our waiter was a nice guy. He tried to accommodate as much as possible. For example, they did switch the TV near us to the college football championship game since I asked. For example though, we ordered enchiladas and they came out warm. The cheese hasn't even melted - it seemed like they had rushed it. Also we asked to try a hotter salsa, and they charged us extra for this. It wasn't great, btw. One of those salsas that's too spicy and not one that tastes great. I did mix some in with the regular salsa for some added kick. Overall, the pricing here is pretty - it's probably just a sign of the times. In terms of food, we had bean tostada's, which they were able to accommodate and make a la carte, because they had them as part of a combo, but they were nowhere to be seen by themselves. The tostada's were decent. Really good amount of ingredients and nicely made. I think somehow there was a bit of lacking when it comes to flavor. Maybe it's the cheese or maybe the beans needed a bit more. Back to the enchiladas. One of the people I was with just ate them as they came. I ate one, but then asked for them to be warmed up more. It did make a difference, so I'm glad I asked, but still unclear as to why this wasn't previously done. My opinion might've been different if the enchiladas has been done right the first time. I mean, this place does seem to have a lot to offer. They had a number of vegetarian options, which is nice and they also have an elaborate bar, and so maybe they're just too new and figuring out some of the details. I might give this place another shot some day. There are just so many options in the area. I wish Casa Tequila well. Welcome to the area! read more

It's gorgeous inside--one of the prettiest restaurants I've been to in a long time, food is tasty and margaritas are delicious, and the staff are genuinely nice and considerate. Myself and 2 friends wandered in on a Saturday evening and went straight to the bar. The tables were all accounted for but there was plenty of seating at the bar. We came for a margarita, which we got. However, there was really nothing special about this drink. It tasted about as good as a pre-made mix you can buy at the store. Alas, we drank and enjoyed chips and salsa. I would have given a lower score, however the gentleman behind the bar saved the experience. As we sat and talked, he made drinks for other patrons and poured the last bit in the cocktail shaker into a glass for us to try. They were not drinks we would have tried otherwise, but boy did they get us talking! One was something like an Old Smoky Old Fashioned. The other was a mixed berry drink (margarita maybe?). This restaurant was mediocre at best. The drinks were overpriced. The food was bland. The service was terrible. We waited 45 minutes just to get our drinks. The food took forever. The waiter was barely apologetic. The manager never came to speak with us and the restaurant didn't even comp a single drink. Nothing whatsoever, despite the fact that they blatantly fell on their faces. They knew it wasn't right. They knew we had been there for a long time and that our patience had progressed to the point of irritation. They didn't care at all. Felt like it must happen often. I had been meaning to go here for a while and I really wanted to like the place but this was amateur hour and I can't even remember the last time I had such a disastrous experience at a restaurant. Great casual Mexican spot. The outdoor patio and service were great. I'm a fajita snob and theirs passed the test! Lots of veggies and it even came with guac, without me having to order some separately! I would give 5 stars but the margarita just didn't hit-too "soupy", just tasted really cheap. Watch out for server OLIVIA. She likes to charge "large party fees" to small parties, after giving terrible service and being incredibly rude. She purposefully altered our receipt and tried to cross out the fee with sharpie. Super unprofessional and weird. read more

We really enjoyed the food and experience here! It's great to have a nice sit down Mexican restaurant in the area. The food and service exceeded my expectations. The seating was very comfortable. We had fajitas, chimichanga, house margarita, and casa paloma. We were offered a second helping of chips and salsa. Everything tasted great. Casa Tequila is a newly opened Mexican restaurant. Thus, I understand they have processes that will get sorted out as they get used to how the service runs. Things most might take a star away for; I will not. I will make mention of things so that Patrons are aware. Listen, Linda, Listen! Casa Tequila is a place to try, at least once, for the margaritas alone. Moreover, Before we get to the food, let's talk about the spot. Casa is a decent size space, not huge. I can see it easily being packed with at least a 30-minute to an-hour wait on days from Thursday to Sunday. They do not take reservations at this point. One thing about Chicago people is that a place pops when it's good. The decor is nice and not over the top. The front garage door-style window will stay open on warmer days surely. The seating was very comfortable, and the staff constantly checked things were good. Plus, Plus! I did go on a weeknight when they closed at 10 pm. I think we were there until about 15 minutes before closing. Not one time did we feel rushed or pushed out. Now back to those Margaritas! I tried Tropical fruit, Kiwi, and Grilled Pineapple. All of these were good, but the kiwi fruit margarita is the one to watch out for as it sneaks up on you. The Chips and salsa were freshly made and not salty. The kitchen staff did a great job; nothing was too salty or without flavor. Nothing was cold. Looking at the front menu and Having had tacos for lunch, I tried the big boy. The Tomahawk Steak was perfectly cooked medium. My Friend Had the Steak, Chicken, and Shrimp Fajitas in a Pineapple. All of Which was to his liking. I did try the shrimp, and they were good. Not rubbery, and the pineapple juice gave them much flavor. For the side dishes, they fell a little short. While the mashed potatoes with the cheezy mushroom, whatever gave my taste buds a welcome jolt. The side salad and side vegetables were somewhat of a joke. The salad was nothing more than taco toppings on a plate. I know salad is a taco topping, but you can tell it was not made to be a salad. Mixed vegetables I thought would be maybe broccoli and carrots. Mixed vegetables were just a bowl of onions and peppers. No Bueno, but good! I did enjoy the space, service, and food. The bill was about $200 plus, but based on what we ordered outside of the current inflation, it might have been about $140 bucks. Eating here isn't cheap, but overall going out has gotten expensive. read more

Saw this place on TikTok and decided to take my bestie there for her 40th birthday! It was absolutely amazing!! I had the vegan chorizo tacos. They were well seasoned but a bit too spicy for me. I ate them anyway because they were so yummy!! My friend had the skirt steak with mashed potatoes. Everything was seasoned to perfection! The chimichurri sauce was so tasty! I wanted to ask for a cup to take home! Parking isn't the best over there so I suggest rideshare or public transportation! Definitely going back and getting myself a steak! My friend and I have been wanting to try this place for a while as we drive by it often. I was disappointed to find out that most, if not all the margaritas are premade. It was a hassle to order one with Blanco tequila since all the premixed ones are with Reposado. The drink they made me from scratch was pretty simple, and very pricey for the size and the strength. It's great to finally have a proper Mexican dine-in restaurant in a neighborhood where there is a glut of hipster gringo taco joints or basic counter serve fare. The salsa, queso, and margaritas were all pretty good, and those are the foundation of any south of the border meal. Our tacos were delicious, and the service was prompt and friendly. Only point of criticism is that the prices were a tad steep for what is a fairly standard (but still quality) experience. Hate to write a poor review, but I can't help myself. I was very excited for the place to open. After about a month my friend and I tried it. He got a taco trio and I got nachos. The nachos were the worst I've ever had and my friend, who is a professional chef, said the tacos were horrible. All 3 different kinds. So I didn't bother going back until I wanted a quesadilla as a quick snack. I got a small steak quesadilla and it was inedible. Soaking in a pool of water soggy as hell in a metal to go tin. My only regret about this place is that we don't go more often - this has fast become my family's favourite restaurant and brings us to Armonk. The food is consistently fantastic as well as the presentation. The staff is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere, decor, and music even has my kids wowed and dancing! We ordered the queso fundido con chorizo. It was a huge serving but when we ate it something was off. We asked the server what kind of cheese it was, and they later informed us it was mozzarella. And not even straight mozzarella but it was obviously with some kind of cream. In Chicago, this is an atrocity for as many local Mexican spots that are so good and use traditional chihuahua cheese. I cannot think of another time I have had service this poor. My family of 4 went tonight for a quick meal after work and were stuck here for over 2 hours. Our drinks took at least 20 minutes and the only way we got them was my husband getting them himself from the bar. Our food took so long that I had to tell the waiter that we needed the food or we had to leave - it had been over 60 minutes from the time we ordered. Our food came out and was not even warm. Gigantic menu that will satisfy any group: Tacos, Burritos, Fajitas, Large Plates, Steaks, as well as lunch and combo specials. Service was a little slow but I don't blame them as it was a busy grand opening. Ordered classic margaritas and they did not fail to disappoint. We come around 9 on a Saturday , an hour wait. Not a problem since it's a Saturday. We get seated nicely but we came here for the STEAK since they are known for that and it's in the name, but we come to find out they don't have no steak OR carne asada at all, only chicken or shrimp. Service was okay our waitress was really nice and kept checking in to see if everything was okay. I had the enchiladas with cheese. I took 2 bites and I was done. The cheese tasted weird and the tortilla seemed to be flour not corn. The cheese was already cold perhaps that's why I tasted weird. My boyfriend got tacos. The asada tacos didn't had much flavor, the chorizo was okay but the one I liked was the carnita one. He had to share since I was scared to order anything else (guess I'm just very picky) I also had Paloma. The drink is a 9/10 for me.
