This place was awesome! I usually don't like goat so I was hesitant to try this place but it got such great reviews I finally popped by. I got birria tacos and one quesabirria on a Friday night. The portions were generous and I liked the meat to cheese ratio for my quesabirria. There is counter seating that faces the street which was nice! The employees were so friendly and food was fast and fresh. I enjoyed the condiments as well. Definitely try this place, it really impressed me and I am definitely interested in coming back!

Loud and cramped. Not good for large parties but nice for a quick pick up. I got the birria combo and it's only 2 tacos for $20.....I wouldn't get it again. But everyone was kind and very attentive to those who dined in.

Michelin Bib Gourmand and deserved! Simple menu, insanely good roasted goat. Homemade corn tortillas (you can tell). Fresh cilantro, onion, limes, hot sauce. Huge portions for the price. My friend said the horchata was the best she's ever had. Everything fresh, it's 100% worth trying.

This spot is worth the hype! The food is incredible, the staff are super friendly, and the restaurant is clean. I wouldn't rely on grabbing a quick meal here because whoever staffs the single register has to deal with phone calls, dine-in customers, and to-go customers at the same time. But if you have time, grab a seat facing the kitchen to watch the chefs work their magic and sip on their delicious horchata while you wait for your food that you will not regret. Two of us shared a small bowl of bone-in birria along with two tacos. The birria came with deliciously warm and fresh tortillas, along with a number of toppings so we could season the soup to our liking. The meat was so tender and carried the flavor of all the spices in the broth. The broth itself was stewed for so long that it was rich and almost creamy from all the fat and marrow that got incorporated over time.

So happy this place exists! Ordered Plato de cabeza, birriera quesadilla and horchata= it was so fire! Delicious delicious! The tortillas are freshly made and are perfect! The soup was also really good. The inside of the restaurant is small but they have bar seatings and the staff is so so nice!!

If you're looking for a quick, no-frills bite that punches way above its weight, Birria Zaragoza's Uptown location delivers exactly that. Despite their well-earned fame, this spot keeps the humble, hole-in-the-wall energy intact, small, unpretentious, and staffed by some genuinely warm and welcoming people. Pop in, grab a seat, and let them do the rest. My fiancé and I shared the quesabirria combo, two quesabirrias with consomé, a Mexican Coke, and a Jamaica, and honestly, everything was amazing. The Jamaica alone deserves its own shoutout: perfectly balanced, not too bitter, not too sweet, and exactly what you need to cut through the heat of the food. The tacos came out piping hot, prepped right in front of us, loaded with cheese and packed with flavor. The consomé was warming, rich, and perfectly spiced, the kind of broth that makes you want to tip the bowl. And the accompaniments (onion, cilantro, peppers, lime, and salsa) give you full control to doctor things up to your liking. For spice lovers, this setup is a dream. My one gripe, and the sole reason I'm docking a star, is the price. At around $30 for two tacos, a consomé, and drinks, it's a tough pill to swallow. As a Mexican American, there's something about that price point that pulls me slightly out of the authentic experience I was hoping for. I fully respect the craft and passion behind this food, but it's worth noting. That said? Don't let it stop you. This food is incredible, and I'll absolutely be back.

Fantastic experience. The service was so friendly, and I think we were even helped by the owner, who took the time to walk us through the menu. My husband and I both got the quesabirria combo and shared a horchata. The quesabirria was absolutely delicious and came with fresh toppings on the side like cilantro and onions. The consomé was unlike any I've had before and so flavorful. It's a great spot for a quick and delicious meal. The combo was the perfect amount for me, and while my husband was still pretty hungry afterward, we both really enjoyed everything. Overall, excellent food and welcoming service, we'll definitely be back.

This is a tiny little restaurant with such a unique vibe. The menu is fairly small but it keeps the food genuine and delicious. The service was great for dining in!

!! DROOL DROOL DROOL !! This place has the best food ever!! And awesome service. I've been a few times and could rave for hours about the Birrieria. It tastes so fresh, tender and juicy, in whichever format you order it. The accoutrements (tortillas, onions, cilantro and lime) are fresh and delicious as well (tho I haven't tried the dried red peppers bc they look scary spicy, haha). The staff is super friendly- it feels like a very inviting environment. The place is very very small, but I love the dinner/counter vibe. It's awesome for a quick lunch or dinner. Wish I could go every day (insert daydream eyes).

2025 Chicago. Birrieria (goat). Birria Surtklo/Bone-in Tazón Chico / Small Bowl $19 Quesabirria Combo (2 Quesabirrias w/Consome) $16 Overall, amazing. "As good as it gets."

I was told Birrieria Zaragoza has the best birrieria in the city... I'm no expert but I'd say they're definitely in the running! The birrieria was divine and the tacos too. None doubt, these are the best homemade tortillas I've ever had. Mariana took our order and was incredibly kind. We admired the decor and sipped on an incredible jamaica (a must order beverage) while waiting for our order. Go support this stellar local business! You won't regret it.

Everything about this place deserves the flowers it receives. From the service to the food (order both the birria and the goat; don't be shy) to the ambiance was incredible. All killer, no filler. We will be back on our next visit for sure.

amazing, fresh food. great quick service!! not a tonnn of seating room (maybe ~20 bar stools), however so worth it. corn tortillas are made to order and were served hot! try the horchata, it was so refreshing and not sickeningly sweet. I want to come back to try the birria next time! the pork in the large plate was so tender and moist. 10/10, no notes.

Evelyn greeted us right away and placed my order. I asked for spicy salsa so she recommended the gobernador salsa which was a green spicy salsa made with poblanos. Evelyn was so sweet! The inside of the restaurant was really cute and colorful and they had a separate bar area for drinks. I decided to order a spicy michelada with Pacifico beer while waiting. The bartender was super nice and made my drink quickly. It was the perfect amount of spice and was so refreshing! My burrito came out quick for how packed the inside of the restaurant was. I ordered the Paloma, and my husband got the Michelada, both super refreshing and made well. For food, I ordered the El Gringo with rice and salad. I definitely wish I had swapped the salad for beans, because my husband got both rice and beans, and I ended up finishing my rice and helping with his too lol. Highly recommend this dish, just go for the beans instead of the salad! My husband also ordered three tacos: Al Pastor, Chorizo, and Carne Asada, all of which were really good. One of the fun touches is that they have QR codes at the table to leave a Google review, and if you do, you get to spin a prize wheel. Of course I had to try it, and it made the whole experience even more fun. I ended up winning a free double shot!
