I pointed out that the QRCodes on ALL the tables went yo website that said 8pm. ...and the printed menus said 8pm and yhe only reason we found out that 6:30pm was latest to order food was we happened to be at the beach next to building to hear "last call" times. Everyone at hotel stated that website and printed menus were out of date....no obvious signs stated different hours. Manager very aloof, but sh did take the qrcodes off the tables...printed menus and website still wrong. We encountered another couple who ordered food at last call. They were very unhappy that food served was cold and did not have any condiments. Next issue there is only street parking...we had to park .75 miles away from motel. Concerns about safety of leaving car on street overnight.

The restaurant: gorgeous décor, mostly great food, delicious drinks right on the beach at your lounge chair! The staff: all very friendly - I especially loved Joanit and Aminda, who made me feel at home! The service: very good except when I asked for a bowl for my dog, they refused. They said they only have outside bowls for the beach that can't be used inside the hotel rooms? Also they didn't want to give me a bowl from the restaurant initially, but then a staff member helped me out later. The location: in the gated community of Ocean Park, adjacent to the trendy neighborhoods of Santurce and Condado. A quick Uber ride can bring you to Old San Juan and Ubers arrived within 5 minutes from my experience. The rooms: honestly, nothing special. The cleaning could have been a bit more thorough getting the nooks and crannies. I was glad to stay in an interior room, as I wanted quiet. If you stayed in a beach-facing room, you could hear the music from the restaurant below. I loved that the room came with free lounge chair rentals on the beach. I also loved that wifi instructions and free snacks and drinks were in the room upon arrival. I did not love that there wasn't a hair dryer in the room. The A/C was powerful and kept the room cool. One thing that was a bit surprising was that the power went off multiple times one night. The first time was at about 9pm and the room went pitch black, which was kind of scary. I was searching for my phone flashlight, but the power came back on about 30 seconds later. This happened again at 2am. The internet in the room was good for streaming initially, but after the power outage, the internet cut out about every 10 minutes. Overall, I had a great experience and I would definitely come back!

We loved it and would stay there again in a heartbeat. (FYI we booked our room at the Dream Inn via AirBnB; it looks like some of their rooms are listed there by the owners of the boutique hotel, and others are available directly through their website.)

Josue and Dawn are exactly the kind of people you want as hosts- kind, and attentive, but totally laid back. They answered our questions, got our room ready quickly (we didn't have reservations) and then let us relax by the pool in privacy. They also have space inside their gated property to park a few cars and we were glad to have a spot for our rental. The room itself was basic, but clean and the bed was comfortable. The guesthouse overlooks a small scenic bay with a seawall. The beach is short 5-10-minute drive away. The people we encountered in this small fishing town were truly the nicest we met on our trip. If you're looking to relax this is a great spot, with several good places to eat within a few minutes walk away. We will definitely be back next time we go to PR, perhaps as a great jumping-off point to the nearby islands of Vieques or Culebra or to go hiking and visit the local rainforest, Thank you for such a pleasant stay!!

Casa Libre is on the eastern shore of PR very near the El Yunque rain forest, Luquillo beach and the ferry over to Vieques and Culebra! The rooms are really nice (my niece says I like fancy things so extrapolate from that) and have glorious air conditioning which can be a rare thing for B&Bs on the island. Rooms also have small fridges and wireless internet is also available. I love the large shower in the room we stayed in -- big enough for a shower for two! Jordan fell in love with the pool which was right outside our door. Nothing beats a great swim before breakfast. There are great views of Playa Naguabo and the fishing dock and you can see Monkey Island from here too. Jordan also loved Patti's french toast which she even requested for dinner one evening. This is a great place to use as your headquarters for exploring the island! Josue even gives tours of all the PR historical landmarks like Old San Juan, El Yunque, Fajardo's BioBay, Ponce and many more. His company is Borincano Tours and will be listed on the website soon. Usually hotels will have a small disposable bar soap or something. They had a tiny bottle of body wash which we used to wash out hands with. Our room didn't really have any windows lol... There were 2 windows that basically faced inside the hallway. The shower pressure was not all that great. Also, the walls are thin. We could basically hear everything from anywhere close. Our neighbors were pretty active at night. It was like in the movies. We felt like we were s silent foursome lmao... They were bumping, grinding and moaning... The sound was so clear as if we were in the room with them lmao... The pool upstairs is.... Not something I would even consider getting into. You have to wonder how often they even get a chance to service and clean the thing. It's more like an oversized soaking tub. The great thing about this hotel was its location. Everything we wanted to go see was within walking distance. Literally no more than 8mins away. Sadly, the day we were leaving I was persuaded by the guy at the front desk to allow him to get a taxi for me. There was a 3 day festival coming and he says Uber/Lyft won't be able to make it to us because they are clearing the street to get ready. However Uber showed someone can come take us to the airport for $9. Anyway, I let the guy call his taxi person. Got to the airport and I felt like I got ripped off. Charged me $40. That was a slap in the face. Why align your hotel with a shady taxi service??? For the money and location this honestly isn't a bad spot. We just needed a safe place to sleep close to where we wanted to walk to.

Three-star quality at five-star prices…read more Be sure to read the fine print when making a reservation. This hotel runs a "20% hotel tariff" scam that gets tacked onto the bill. The only logical explanation is that this policy makes the room prices appear to cost about $200 a night less than the real charges. Otherwise, why not just raise the advertised price by 20%? There is no doubt the property is in a gorgeous location, sitting directly on the ocean. The buildings are in good condition and the staff is courteous. But, I experienced several shortfalls compared to my expectations for this price point. The suites are provided a "butler," but the available hours are 10am to 6pm. The service would be more accurately described as a concierge. Bringing coffee in the morning is not on the list of duties, nor assisting with unpacking or packing or other typical butler activities. Sending out laundry the day before my departure, I asked to have it folded so it would be easier to pack. Everything came back on hangers. My room did not receive turn-down service and fresh towels during the third night of my stay. I asked to have a car booked to the airport from the hotel. The butler got it backwards and booked it from the airport to the hotel. Good thing that I took a close look at the confirmation and noticed the routing was backwards. The breakfast restaurant, Ola, is extremely crowded in the morning with a 30 to 60 minute wait being typical in my experience. The front of the property is in a skeevy neighborhood so walking somewhere else for breakfast isn't a realistic option. It's not bad, but also not a top tier. property.

Those are my faves however when traveling with family in tow or for work Moxy or Court Yards do the job. I was shocked to learn that Marriott had resorts. I assume I knew but because I hadn't stayed at one I learned this at my big age. I was appalled at the 870$ a night price tag for a king room but that is what they charge. Is it worth it? I'd say no, the resort is nice but it's a normal room with no frills with a beautiful view but for almost 1k a night; so no. When I pay that price, I want water by the bed, turn down service, good amenities, and a cushy robe. The view was amazing and we did love the balcony. He smokes cigars so this worked well for us. But other than that view, the bed was just okay and that is typically why I love Marriott brands. They missed the mark. We did try their breakfast Buffett and that was great. I did love the complimentary drinks for Gold/Platinum Members. If I came back to the PR I wouldn't stay at this location again, it's a great area but not worth the price tag. Plus the beach here is super rocky, no bueno!
