I thought I would need dinner after, but I was perfectly content after the experience. Our server was nice and came by a time or two, but the star of the show was one of the staff who greeted us and came by for drink orders. He was very funny and personable. Incredible experience for happy hour as Casadonna! We got there at 6pm to enjoy their happy hour until 7 and the service was so attentive from our server Kristina and her server assistant, Christian. We got to sit in the beautiful courtyard which was so chic and the perfect place to dress up and have a couple drinks. We tried the potatoes with caviar which were perfectly crispy but sat on a bed of salt that overpowered the caviar and any other flavor. The Passione drink with cognac, strawberry and passion fruit was also perfection we had 4 of those and we also tried the oysters which comes with 3 oysters which were fresh and had the perfect toppings. Lastly we tried the pizza of the week which rotates weekly and this had peaches, arugula, balsamic and mozzarella omg this pizza was heavenly!! Also so well priced! Visited this restaurant for Miami Spice Event, it was spectacular to say the least. The location itself is incredibly beautiful, not only are the vibes awesome but the service just adds to the experience. From the hostess to the waiters, they were incredibly patient and helpful going through the menu. The menu itself was inclusive even with a shellfish allergy, started with the oyster and caesar salad; smaller portions but filling. The entrees were delicious and perfectly portioned for both the rigatoni and filet mignon. We enjoyed all of the options for desserts which were sweet and perfect to end the night. Casadonna was impressive upon walking in and that's without mentioning we never even made it to the outdoors area because it was closed for seating. Service was top notch and everything seemed like a production. From the espresso martini flights we ordered to the truffle pasta that came in a fancy box tableside; everything was like "whoa." Men walking around looking like bodyguards and just overall...it's a vibe. Was it expensive? My truffle pasta was $110, the focaccia bread $17 and the martini flights were $45. So our meal in total: two espresso flights, one truffle pasta to share and bread were about $300 (tip included). Was it good? It was amazing. I loved my drink choice and I loved my entree. While we opted for the more expensive entree and drink options, we were not disappointed with the portions or the taste. We weren't super hungry so sharing seemed the right choice for us. First, let me start by saying the food was excellent. We enjoyed focaccia, linguini "Vangole" (with clams), salmon, and very unique tiramisu with an ice cream in the center -- all were superb. Second, cocktails were well crafted. Third the location, we sat on the bayside patio, was pleasant and classy. However, the service was severely lacking. I would have written that off to visiting on Christmas day, however, they were not short staffed. Plenty of staff and management standing around and we had an early dinner, so the restaurant was not busy by any standards. After being seated, (the host staff was on the ball, prompt, efficient, and personable), we waited nearly 5 minutes just for menus. Then longer to place our orders. That wouldn't have been excessive or too bad, except there were plenty of staff available that could have been attending. Our appetizer (the focaccia) was brought out after the entree's. The water was never refilled (until I finally waived over a manager to request a refill). Our waiter disappeared for over 15 minutes at one point (remember the restaurant was not busy), the only time he checked on the table was 5 minutes after the food had been served. After the meal we sat nearly 20 minutes waiting for the table to be cleared. Staff walking by, managers standing less than 4 feet from the table... it was clear we were finished. Finally, again, I had to ask for service. They get our waiter who has the nerve to _ask_ if we want the table cleared... no I prefer to sit with empty dirty dishes in front of me at a fine dining establishment! And again... a long wait for the check after dessert. Oh, on top of that, despite being in Miami, and not Miami Beach, they have the nerve to automatically add a 20% "service charge" to the bill. Being Christmas, if the service had been anywhere near acceptable, I would have tipped more than that, was it was, I really felt cheated by being forced to pay 20%. read more

I would skip this place in Miami. The service is sub par. I had a reservation and they chose a table for us at the bar rather than the main service area. It took a long time for service to come to the table. The servers attitude was cold and unwelcoming. The food quality was "ok" nothing out o the ordinary. The food prices are "normal" but not worth their value except dessert. Desserts are ridiculous 26 dollars for pistachio Icecream that was just "ok". I was really excited about this place because it belongs to the same restaurants' group as Komodo, which I love and it's one of my favorite restaurants in town. They are luxurious but the food quality is in par with the ambiance and I would say with the price tag too. Conversely, Casadona is one of those beautiful and opulent restaurants where I think esthetics supersede the quality of the food, and price-to-quality ratio is not as favorable, in my opinion. The service was one of the best things during my dining experience, it was best in class service from star to finish. I enjoyed the heirloom tomato salad. Tomatoes were fresh and tasty, which is hard to find in American restaurants. Priced at $28, might be a bit out of where it should be priced at. The grilled octopus was OK and priced at $32. What I was really looking for was the Tuna tartare. I had seen so many pictures over the internet of people saying nice things about it, but to be honest, this is not worth the $45 you would pay. I know it has caviar, but it was pretty plain to me. First, it is small, the picture shows it bigger than what it actually is and the flavors aren't there; I only got to taste the chives and the white cream layer on top. I wouldn't recommended. I have had much better tuna tartare at a fraction of what I paid. They redeemed themselves on the main courses. The filet mignon was cooked as requested, medium rare. It was juicy and tasty. The chicken was algo perfect, as juicy and flavorful as it could get. The price for the entrees was more reasonable. All jn all, my main problem was with the price-to-quality ratio as opposed with to the overall quality of the food. I was expecting for something more refined given the price point. Enjoy! read more

So we had a girls night for Miami Spice! Perfect way to be introduced to a new spot (for me). Casadonna is so aesthetically pleasing, it was nice to see that we weren't the only ones in there taking pics every 5 min LOL. They offer valet parking at $15 and it was packed on a Thursday evening but the vibe was so calm. Our servers Philip & Alex were so attentive and helpful when it came to selecting dinner options. The Miami Spice menu was $60 for 3 courses (up charge for certain items) with great options. For starters, we ordered the burrata, octopus and king salmon crudo - perfect! The burrata was a nice burst of sweet with the peaches and cheese, the octopus was perfectly prepared and the crudo was a light lemony tangy zest. A great segway into the main course of filet mignon (medium) and lumache. The filet was so tender and juicy! It came with a mushroom sauce and even though I am not a fan of mushrooms, omg it was worth it. To wash it down, I started with a CALABRIAN MARGARITA which was ok. It's made with mezcal which I love but it tasted like they used a little too much puree to mask the taste, same was true for the Paloma I ordered - they used puree (I prefer grapefruit soda or juice) so a suggestion would be use an alternative or less concentrate. Casadonna has a beautiful atmosphere. The décor, ambiance, and warm greeting from the hosts made a great first impression. Unfortunately, the service from our waitress didn't match the setting. She didn't review the menu or offer any recommendations, simply told us that everything had to be ordered all at once. It felt like her only role was to take the order, which was disappointing given the restaurant's reputation. She also never came by to check if we wanted another drink. What made it more noticeable was hearing another server, Zach, at a nearby table. He was phenomenal, explained the menu, gave thoughtful suggestions, and made his guests feel well taken care of. We started our meal by selecting one of each of the Miami Spice appetizers. Though we all agreed we were not fans of the burrata, the octopus was definitely the star of the show. Next, we all opted for pasta dishes. The pomodoro was delicious with a nice hint of spice, and the bolognese was hearty and super delicious. To finish off an amazing meal, we tried both desserts, with the chocolate ricotta cake being our favorite. It used to be so vibrant with excellent ambiance, service and food...Last night was such a disappointment, low music, dead ambiance, poor service, definitely not worth the expensive dinner. I ordered a branzino which was so overcooked it was like mush, and the asparagus side where extra salty as well as overly boiled... Utterly disappointed...we were celebrating an important birthday, I had brought a custom cake especially made for this occasion. At dessert time, the servers DID NOT bring the cake with candle as it is customary to do-but served a small plate with the smallest slice of it and NO candle...I had to ask for the candle twice! When you step inside Casadonna, you feel like you have stepped into an elegant, upscale Old World Italian palace. It is romantic and beautiful. The dinner guests are dressed in their finest. A great place for special dates or special celebrations. We were celebrating a special friend's birthday. We had high hopes that our first time here would be everything we hoped for. Our server came over and introduced himself and dropped off menus. For 45 minutes, we waited for our water glasses. Poof! went our balloon. Slow service, not enough servers, is what we noticed. From the initial experience, the service and management was a bit frustrating. My sister and I both had two separate reservations for two through the Bilt app and each of us tried reaching out to the restaurant to try to ask them to seat us together. Reaching them was frustrating - the phone line listed was not specific to restaurant and was some centralized support center that was not helpful. We also tried their social media and email listed on their website and also got no reply. It's crazy to me that there is no way to directly contact a restaurant with as large a staff as Casadonna. We did eventually the day before get a reservation update through Seven Rooms and I made a note on on that reservation for us to be seated together. I also made a note that we were celebrating a birthday but not sure the memo was received. Thankfully, there were no issues when we got there to be seated together. However, the menu for the Bilt event was another story. Not only was there initial confusion by the restaurant about the event but when we finally got the special menu for Bilt (we had to tell them we were there for Bilt and took a couple times to ask for the fixed menu we paid for in advance - they tried to take our drink order before we even had the menu sorted out), there was a key menu item missing from the menu advertised to us by Bilt for this event (the branzino fish). My sister had intended to get this item since her diet avoids carb and meat, so the decision to attend the event was made on the menu sent to us ahead of time (not to mention this event is paid for in advance). Unfortunately, they gave us a hard time about it. There was lots of back and forth with my sister and her boyfriend basically having to argue with the staff and management to try to have an exception made, with management insisting there were other options that were without meat (which was not the only issue). Management also insisted the menu posted on the Bilt app was outdated (so sounds like something they should fix...?)z Eventually an exception was made, but this especially was not a nice experience since we were there also celebrating my sister's birthday for her to have to argue to get the entree advertised - although again I think this was lost on them despite my note in the reservation and my sister having a giant birthday gift bag next to her seat. Service was a bright spot thankfully - Antonio was friendly and made great conversation. Food was just fine but nothing exceptional, although I'll say the octopus portion was generous. It's good food but the competition for nice Italian restaurants is tough in Miami and Casadonna just doesn't stand out to me in terms of food. After I reminded them of my sister's birthday after the whole Branzino thing (which they again seemed to be surprised about), they did include a candle on the cake slice she ordered from the fixed menu. I think one thing that didn't help Casadonna is that the restaurant we went to before dinner for happy hour, Klaw, significantly outshined Casadonna in its management and service. We did not even give Klaw any notice that it was my sister's birthday and told them more in passing when we got there and they pulled out all the stops in service for us anyways, along with a special dessert for all of us to share and a handwritten birthday note. The poor experience with the menu and inability to contact the restaurant was enough for me to unfortunately not recommend Casadonna to celebrate a special occasion like a birthday. But nice atmosphere and decent menu for any other night out. However, despite my review, I do really appreciate that the name of the restaurant is seemingly an homage to the historical Miami women's club building that the restaurant is housed in. I love that this restaurant is beside the pier because we were able to sail our friends boat from Miami Beach and dock it. Ambiance was absolutely gorgeous. Incandescent wicker lamp lighting with a sea of foliage and cozy cushions to feel at at home. Their cocktails all sound incredible and I don't think you could go wrong with any choice. Particularly, their Lavender haze cocktail was aromatically botanical, delicate, and juicy. Promodoro rigatoni had a little pepper kick to it which was appreciated with its fresh tomatoe-ness. The mashed potatoes were whipped so smooth it was my favorite side dish with steak! The tomahawk steak is perfect to share with a big group and we were quite a big party of 16 people. Prosciutto and their organic lettuce salad is the perfect pairing together. We ate so much that none of us saved room for dessert so I'll have to come back again to with a sweet tooth! read more

The salt crusted branzino is great, forgot to take a photo, but it's enough for 2 with a side and appetizer. The octopus is also great! For dessert we had both the chocolate hazelnut torte and the delize limon (?) which is the signature. The torte was actually my favorite. Went with my bestie for the Tiny Tini Affair special they do on Wednesdays. The ambiance was exactly what we expected - mellow, vibey, loved the live band with the chill music. The decor is gorgeous. All the fun stuff is outside, so expect to be hot in the Miami weather. The seating can be a little tight, which was a little annoying. The fries and cesar salad was delish. The martinis that come with the special are with well vodka and you can tell - they were not good. However, the premium martinis on the menu were delish. We especially loved the Pomtini. Pretty but so disappointed. The service needs much improvement. The restaurant was practically empty for dinner and everything took a long time. Children were running everywhere. What a beautiful restaurant! This place is huge and stunning- from the entrance with high ceilings to the back patio seating and bar- wow. It's worth it to come before your reservation to sit at the bar outside and enjoy the view of the ocean. We sat at the bar while waiting for our table and the bartender recommended a few drinks. I tried 2 of the cocktails, one gin cucumber drink and a lavender one which I was hesitant to order but the lavender wasn't overpowering and it was so light. Once we sat down our waiter was very attentive and explained the menu. Waters were always filled and food came out quick. We shared the tuna tar tar for appetizer and it was sooooo fresh. The caviar on top added a lemony fish flavor that elevated it. The wonton chips to dip weren't my favorite and the tuna was so good you could eat it plain. I had the short rib pasta as a main, recommended by the waiter, but I got it without the shaved truffles on top since I'm not the hugest truffle person. The pasta has truffle oil in it which was good but personally not my favorite flavor. The pasta itself was fresh and delish but the flavor was a bit off for me. Also the short rib wasn't super tender. Overall, come here for the ambiance but don't expect too much from the food. Everything was good but not great.
