Its sausage is second to none, meat bread, pinwheels, rice balls I can keep going. Its got various other household goods and small produce section. I waited till this place was sold and my rating is poor because of the owner and his brother-in-law (not the food, which was always good - sandwiches, potato salad, macaroni salad, cold cuts etc.) The owner was a nasty, unfriendly, unsmiling grinch who constantly acted like he was doing you a favor just to do up a sandwich. I always had to look at my change as he tried to short-change or forget it many times. I was not the only one, many people agreed with me and they were regular customers right from the neighborhood !!! Sitting on a goldmine and he had no care or friendliness with his customers. How do you do business for decades and you treat your regulars and neighborhood people with distain ? NEVER a smile, never a "how you doing", nothing. Good riddance to him. I wish the new owner the very best and hope the location is just as lucrative for him/her.

Anyone who knows me knows Red tomato sauce or gravy as many of my Italian friends would call it, isn't my favorite. Although for the sake of a quick Sunday pasta meal for my Mr, figured to give it a try, along with some of their fresh stuffed shells. Happy and glad to report I found a freshly made red tomato sauce that my tastebuds and stomach can handle. It wasn't overly spiced or thickened with various meats/vegetables/bread which typically shys me away from it. It was mentioned that I was getting one of the last containers for the day that had a meatball and sausage in it, but not chopped or sliced up, so that worked for me as it could be taken out and eaten separately. (The meatball was pretty tasty ;) I would recommend giving this location a try for anyone with a finicky red sauce eater like me.
