Swung into this location on an afternoon wall interested in trying their sidewalk advertised,"Sunday Sauce". Anyone who knows me knows Red tomato sauce or gravy as many of my Italian friends would call it, isn't my favorite. Although for the sake of a quick Sunday pasta meal for my Mr, figured to give it a try, along with some of their fresh stuffed shells. Happy and glad to report I found a freshly made red tomato sauce that my tastebuds and stomach can handle. It wasn't overly spiced or thickened with various meats/vegetables/bread which typically shys me away from it. It was mentioned that I was getting one of the last containers for the day that had a meatball and sausage in it, but not chopped or sliced up, so that worked for me as it could be taken out and eaten separately. (The meatball was pretty tasty ;) I would recommend giving this location a try for anyone with a finicky red sauce eater like me. I went to Joe's to get sandwiches to bring to the beach. First, the woman who took care of me was extremely nice and personable. Their case is beautiful with so much to choose from and plenty of homemade salads and prepared foods. This sandwich was a work of art and was delicious! This is by far the best sandwich place in Lindenhurst. I did not get any meat because we were on our way to the beach but as a former butcher I can say that all their meat looked amazing, the beef is definitely prime and many different types of homemade sausages that looked so fresh; like they were just made. Had my 1st taste of Joe's at recent street fair and the sausage and peppers were excellent! Perfectly cooked, fresh bread with just the right amount of "snap" in the sausage when you bit into it! Tried their nearby store and had a mini pizza (pizza snob as I am) and was very impressed with the flavor! The store is a well stocked deli, Italian grocery, and butcher shop all in one! Very clean and organized, especially given the selection of items! Even found an imported Italian spring water I was looking for! Everyone there is very friendly and helpful! They're a family owned Italian meat market selling sausages, steaks, chickens & all sorts of pasta dishes, pastas & homemade sauces. I woke up this morning craving an Italian Hero with the works. Lettuce, Tomato & Onion. It's snowing, who cares! I'm a Long Islander! This is what we do in a snowstorm! EAT! I gravitate here for their heroes. This is real deal for Italian meats & also Boars Head Cold Cuts. My favorite as most of you know is the Italian hero. Thick with Italian Meats(*wink to Melissa L) but theirs is different. They use Soppressata, Hot Capicola which is a little like Prosciutto, Ham Cappy with balsamic vinegar & oil. I like to add their imported Mortadella with pistachios. Now that's a sandwich! Another favorite is their stuffed hot peppers with bread crumbs. The peppers are always crunchy not mushy and the perfect hot spice to rock with that awesome hero. Had a party ordered 4 hero's. 2 Italian 2 grilled chicken and some pasta. Pasta was amazing, Heros amazing, except when opened up the 3rd hero box we realized it was breaded chicken. So we got 2 Italian, 1 grilled 1 breaded. Okay. Mistakes happen. We call up the place and get the response "what do you want me to do about it?" Listen, I understand mistakes happen. But that's not what we ordered. For $700 I really think we should've received what we ordered and what was on our receipt. As a long time customer, we won't order again solely because of the way whoever answered the phone responded. We're a very understanding family, but You can have a shitty day and still be respectful especially towards your customers. read more

Bad customer service. Workers have attitudes and seem to not want to be bothered. If they mess up an order, they shrug it off as an "oh well" moment and apparently there's "nothing I can do about it". We have been going to Joe's for years. We found this place when our kids started at OLPH, right across the street. The meats are very fresh, well trimmed and very high quality. The prepared meats (Ribs, kebabs, etc) are great for quick BBQ meals. The salads are always fresh. The guys can be a bit grumpy at times (mostly with each other), but they always treat us well and deliver a great product. We were thrilled to hear that one was opening closer to home in Babylon!!!! I have never been to this particular butcher before. I called this place ahead of time before I headed there to ask how much the beef cubes were a pound. I was told over the phone that they were 5.99 a pound. I said great, hung up and headed over. When I walked in the man behind the counter had his whole mask underneath his chin. I asked him for a pound and a half of beef cubes. The beef cubes were all individually wrapped in separate packages like in the supermarket. He picked a package up, threw it on his scale which did not show the poundage on my side of the counter, and said it was more than a pound and a half. I don't even think the scale was on. I said that's fine and went to the register where I stood behind another customer who did not have a mask on at all. I gave the man behind the counter my credit card because i just wanted to get out of there. Weird vibes. On my way home, I look at my receipt and it's for 14.78. We are told to support local business to keep them afloat but I'd rather go somewhere that makes consistent money and isn't making up their prices to make their quota for the day. AND somewhere that mandates mask wearing when they are breathing around and over the food that people eat all day. That was my first and last time there! Thank you! read more

ive known joe's for as long as I lived in lindenhurst. my family has catered from them before but never ordering from them again. over an hour late dropping off catered food, delivery guy was flustered and they forgot and a full tray of food. when I called they kept passing the phone off to each other in the place and kept making excuses. refused to pay for the food I never got. they lost a customer and a family who used to order from them all the time. that's not how you run a catering business. not when someone has 80 people in their backyard and the food is an hour late. read more

That's the last order I got the food is great don't get me wrong but I ordered two entrées I got no Italian bread I got no garlic knots there was no grated cheese you know I go to this restaurant all the time I don't understand what the problem is I also had to pay for a separate order of garlic bread usually most restaurants when you order two entrées will give you some flat form of bread for free and that just wasn't the case I was a little disappointed because I really love this restaurant and at night it's a great store but might want it was just not the way I read more

The store has a great selection of meats and pastas. But when you come to get prepackaged frozen raviolis and prepackaged container of sauce and you wait literally 20 mins on line to pay because they lack customer service it takes away from your experience. Should be able to walk in and out within 5 mins and not be forced to wait on the same line where people are ordering sandwiches and butcher meats. The veal is my absolute favorite - tender and tasty, a great cut of meat...they also have great sausage (spicy and sweet), for lunch they have cold cuts and salads that always taste fresh, (it just doesn't taste the same from the supermarket)...Meatballs and sauce that is so good my Mom stocks up when she comes up from FL....
