Strawberry and lavender margarita which was amazing
    Deanna O.

I was shocked at the food and the drinks. Shocked because I could not get enough and ate way too much. I had the fish tacos with the ghost pepper sauce which was amazing then ate the shrimp ceviche which I couldn't finish but ate all the shrimp first. Then I had the lavender and strawberry margarita which was the an esculent blend but you could still taste the tequila which made it perfect. Don't listen to any negative reviews and sit at the bar and let Adrian help you. He was an excellent bartender. His smile is infectious.

Cascabel is one of my favorite bars in San Rafael. I came here various times with friends and always have had a great time. Service has been friendly & fast , and drinks have always been delicious. My favorite time to go is during their Happy Hour, as they have various affordable cocktail options as well as small bites. Their taquitos are my personal favorite, are so good, and come with a nice green salsa and sour cream. My favorite drink has to be the Tamarindo margarita, which I always get with a Chamoy rim. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also love the environment and aesthetic of this establishment, as the low light & modern look, make this place look elegant & classy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely be returning with my boyfriend and friends for a quick drink or two.

Kids pasta with butter from next door

What a find during our quick trip to Marin! Luckily for us, it wasn't very busy on the Saturday night that we went and we were able to sit in the area with the couch. Two adults, three teens, and two toddlers! Service was super friendly and kind! I was a little apprehensive about taking the kids to a "tequila bar"' so I appreciated the staff's warm welcome. We asked our waitress for recommendations and she was spot on with the fried fish tacos. The green sauce is spicy and amazing! The babies enjoyed their pasta and butter from next door (crepe place). We got a crossover flight, a variety of tequila, to share, and the spicy margarita was just perfect. The decor is so cheerful and cozy. And the music was awesome! It reminded us of all the Latin hits we'd hear at salsa dance socials! We loved it and will return for sure.

TEQUILA LOUNGE -we came here for Mezcal! My sister loves it and wanted to introduce me to this fine drank!!! Omg I fell in love and it had a twist to it! Totally delicious and smooth and SMOKY!!!! Also had the spicy wings and some chips and guacamole! This is the hidden spot in San Rafael and so worth the visit! Food was totally great!!! Come here for drinks and to watch the game and try their tequila or mezcal ! They have flights or you can order by the glass! Great customer service and team!! Come and check it out !!

Thank you for your hospitality Riza! It's the best vibe for all the tequila you can handle. They have other types of liquor and spirits, but the top shelves are lined with tequila! I had the Spicy Mexican Mule, which is a tequila version of a Moscow Mule, and a Classic Margarita. The whole staff is amazing.

Thank you for opening late. Might be my new spot when we need to have a later dinner, such as 9pm or later. Not many options after 9pm in Marin county. Great service. Comfortable seating. Good value on large portions that were on point. Tequila bar for sure with vast options. Highlights were the Baja fish tacos, clean. Green Serrano salsa, it's hot wow no joke serious. I love it. Margaritas tasty mango with selection of rim garnishes of sugar, salt, chili powder. Will be back anytime we need dinner after 9pm.

We had a reservation for Father's Day and waited about 10 minutes for a table to open, as it was the busiest I have seen. The table was nice, big enough for the five of us, and the ambiance is always great here as well. We were quickly greeted by our server, Eli, who provided chips and salsas to whet our appetites, and we soon narrowed our focus to the food and drink menus. We ultimately decided on some El Jefe Tacos, a shrimp and crab enchilada, a three-item combo with two chile rellenos and a cheese enchilada with green sauce, a carne asada taco, and the volcanic Molcajete (served in a warm stone bowl with grilled steak, chicken, and prawns. Covered with a red chile, roasted tomato sauce). For libations, we went with a mojito and a new drink - for us at least - the pineapple mezcal mule! The food came in a timely manner, and the molcajete was still bubbling! Hence, the volcano nickname! The mojito was very minty and refreshing, and the pineapple mezcal mule was an acquired taste for some of the group - I enjoyed the smoky earthiness of the mezcal, but it's not your run-of-the-mill tequila, so if you are new to mezcal, be aware of the difference. The food last time was a bit spicy, but this time it was not an issue. Still spicy, but not to the point of being overpowering. Even the salsas were not as extreme. Good for some of us! All the food was delicious, and the three-item combo was great to look at as well. As we say, "the eyes eat first," and indeed my eyes were little piggies that meal! Overall, the service was great, the food great, and the entertainment a perfect background for what would have been just a noisy bunch of chatter. Overall a great Father's Day lunch.

That said, I've been here twice and unfortunately had the same experience both times. The first visit, I ordered a regular chicken burrito, and it was pretty bland. I figured it might have just been an off day, so I gave them another try and ordered a super burrito the second time. Sadly, it was also bland--even with sour cream and guacamole, which I didn't really see or taste. Their burritos are long but not very thick, and flavor-wise they just didn't hit for me. I was hoping for something more seasoned and bold. I truly hope this is taken as constructive feedback, because I do want local spots like this to succeed. The service is good, and the people are kind--it's just the food that needs more flavor. Unfortunately, based on my experiences, I can't recommend it and probably won't be returning, but I wish them the best and hope they continue improving.

The staff was super friendly and welcoming. It's like a cute little burger shop but for pupusas. The vibes are great. Clearly a lot of regulars here, stones throw from Marin Civic Center. But anyhow, yes, the smell, the happy chatter, the bright windows, lots of little tables, very clean, it just feels right. I don't know Blankita but I can tell she's great. I got three pupusas, cheese and bean, revueltas, and cheese and loroco made with rice flour instead of corn. All were excellent, 5-6 bucks a piece.
