The complimentary chips and salsa were particularly good and set a strong first impression. I ordered a chicken enchilada and a crunchy steak taco with pinto rice and beans. The enchilada was the better of the two--flavorful and satisfying--while the taco shell seemed a little stale and the meat in both dishes was on the dry side. Good, but not standout. My lady had the chicken fajitas, which were tasty, and the accompaniments were solid as well. It was also nice to see the menu recently revamped with options like burrito bowls and tofu, which adds some variety. Overall, it's a dependable place to eat when you're in the area. There are SO many many mexican places, how do you know which one is good? Well, we stumbled onto Mi Pueblo because it was on the way to where we were going and we are glad we came. First off, they have a full bar, and happy menu, so check that out. I got their macho burrito, which we had to ask what it was first. They said it had everything in it, so we said ok let's try. It ended up being a very Mexican-American burrito, which at first doesn't sound good and authentic, but they use fresh ingredients with all the correct mexican blends, which makes it taste more american but authentic at the same time. I got across the Richmond San Rafael Bridge, I made a decision to get off the freeway and hang out at the Northgate Mall. I was hungry and looking for a place to stop and eat. It's an "everything" cafe here - bar with TV's for sports (no hard alcohol so they use Korean soju for margaritas), tables inside and out and quick service including takeout. This trip I had their Happy Hour street tacos 3/$7.99 (or close to that). Carnitas were decent, bartender attentive and my friend's burrito was huge! Her complaint was that the carne asada was overpowered by the beans though I had her leftover and they were all right. I also had a side of rice and beans which were full plates too. Maybe a kids order next time? My neighbor's nachos looked pretty fantastic so I'll go that direction next. I've had a "Bowl-ritto" before which was enough for two meals and pretty good. Conclusion? I like this location the best of all Mi Pueblo restaurants and probably visit a couple times a month. Easy freeway access, lots of parking, indoor and outdoor seating, and most of all the food is consistent. Came in for a no meat tostada which was delicious and satisfying. Mi Pueblo - Marin is a great spot to fix your cravings for Mexican food! They have a taco Tuesday deal, 3 tacos for $8.99. I absolutely love their pastor tacos. I frequent this location for lunch and they have quick take-out service as well as sit-down. You can order take-out online through their website or over the phone and it usually takes 10-20 minutes for your order to be ready. They have ample indoor seating and a dog friendly outdoor patio as well. They are always busy during lunch and dinner times. The service is always quick, I am able to sit down and eat my lunch in under 30 minutes. The prices are reasonable, the staff are all very friendly, and the food is always delicious. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was so baffling that I feel obligated to. I stopped by to pick up a to-go order for a chorizo breakfast burrito and a fountain drink. I paid in full at the front kiosk, then filled my drink while waiting. A server later told me I needed to pay for the drink. I explained that I already had and even offered to show the receipt, but she looked at me like I was trying to get away with something. The whole interaction was awkward and left me feeling unwelcome. I could have overlooked the confusion and poor service if the food made up for it, but it didn't. The burrito was bland, greasy, and completely forgettable. Between the uncomfortable service and disappointing food, I will not be coming back. So I just found out that Mi Pueblo had a restaurant in the Northgate Plaza. I'm not a big mall person so dont bash me too hard lol. I've been missing out! I like this restaurant a LOT better than the downtown Novato location as it's easier to move around, it's got a full bar (Yeah!) and of course, the food is amazing. One thing that's really cool is that they have a fully stocked salsa bar. Many lesser restaurants have done away with any type of salsa bar due to the current climate. Well Mi Pueblo isn't having any of that and they're serving ALL their delicious salsa's!!! Be careful of the Orange Hot one. I love spicy food but you gotta give that one some respect lol. I got a taco salad when I went last and my wife got the Chicken Tortilla soup. I loved my Taco Salad but the soup was awesome! It's definitely a lot though and might be good to split with an appetizer. at any rate, give it a shot if you haven't already, you won't be disappointed! read more

This is the Super Burrito de asada. Looks like dog food i can't tell what's beans and what's meat. When I do taste meat it's burnt to a crisp. About 3 months ago this place was a hit. Pricey but was okay with it since it was one of the few authentic Mexican restaurants in Marin. I don't know if it's because the mall is closing that they are being so cheap. There is ample parking at Northgate mall. The staff is generally pretty nice. Overall, I would come for the atmosphere (once things open again), but not for the food.
