I loved all of the wines here. The location has quite an amazing view of the Gorge and Mt. Hood. Everyone was super friendly and we got a tour of the vineyards and wine making operation. All of the wines are excellent. I will definitely come back.

If you are in the area a great place to taste wine. Very friendly and superb wines. We will be back.

Cascade Cliffs knows how to make wine! Their Blood Red Barbera and Blood Red Syrah are two of the best wines I've ever had! Big and jammy, with every sip I want more! Thinking of becoming a wine member just so I can score a major discount on a "fill up" which is what they call a case purchase above the member shipments. The tasting room is small and quaint with just a few tables inside and a bar that seats four. Definitely make reservations if you are planning on sitting inside. There are several picnic tables outside overlooking the vineyard with stellar views of Mt. Hold on a clear day. But this is the Gorge so if it's windy, there is no way you can sit outside. Mitchell was pouring the last time I visited and he is very passionate, knowledgeable and friendly which adds to the overall experience. He also gives generous pours and threw in an extra, something not many wineries do and it is always much appreciated! While I typically drink bigger reds, I really enjoyed the Riesling they served as the first pour of the tasting. Not to sweet, crisp and refreshing, perfect with a spicy Thai dish. All the reds are fantastic and as I said earlier, their Barbera's, especially the Blood Red Barbera is outstanding. Since they don't distribute their wine, becoming a Club Member is a good way of ensuring a shipment or pick up every quarter. They have a location in downtown Hood River so you can enjoy tastings and pick up from either location. Definitely a must stop when I'm on my own or with friends exploring the WA side of the Gorge. Five stars and counting!

Beautiful location and very friendly people. Whites were very refreshing on a hot day, but nothing great. Coming from wine country in California I was pretty shocked at the price point for most of these wines. I mean I may be a bit biased, but we've also traveled throughout Washington and Oregon for wine. The wine here is good, not great, and definitely not worth the $60 a bottle for their signature wines. I'd say most of what we tasted were pretty good table wines, nothing you'd break out for a special occasion. Irony is that the tasting room attendant even said that the grapes they use are the same as Italian table wines. Well, been to Italy and can say that you can definitely get better wine there for much less.

Deliciae is amazing. If you get a chance to try the rosé or the Chardonnay, it's amazing.

We had a fantastic experience here during a trip to the gorge. Joanie was so welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and fun. The wine is amazing and it was hard to pick one, so we left with 3. Highly recommend this winery. It was a great experience that we are still talking about.

4 of the 7 bottles we purchased. Sadly they were not good.

We have been back a couple times since our last review and need to post an update. We truly enjoyed their wine during our visits and would happily return whenever given the chance.

The owner is a perfectionist, and he has hired the best Hotel people in the town and pays them all very well. He has remodelled the entire place and seeks to run this 1950s motel like it was the best Hilton. I was pleasantly surprised, heck I was shocked, but seriously this place deserves its rating. Trust me!

There was a layer of dust on everything, dirt on the floor, no refills of coffee machine supplies or tissues, and I had to go to the front desk to get more toilet paper. There are cobwebs on the ceilings. When I asked the desk person in my last evening if I could check-out at 11:30 instead of 11, since I had a meeting in The Dalles that I needed to return from to get out of the room, she said she could not say yes or no, and I had to ask the morning desk clerk. The room was so small that there was no chair and desk to write at. By the way, I initially sent this review directly to the motel via their email address on their website, and got no reply. Only after a while passed, I put it on here. Breakfast was very good.

Domaine Serene, it is not. What it is though, is really pretty cool. It looks a little divey with old, run-down tables and I'm down with that. Funny signs behind the tasting station that really do look like they belong in a dive bar. But here's the thing: the folks running the place are sweet as all heck and they have some really good wine which is why you are there. There's no fancy gift shop or anything fancy at all...but the wine. Remember why you are there. It's all about the wine folks. Being on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge you will find different wines than the usual, boring pinot noirs that do so well in the Dundee region. Sorry folks, pinot noir is not my thing. Big, bold reds, now, that's my thing. I tasted several varieties and approved of them all but the tempranillo was off the hook. One more thing, if you are hungry, you'll notice that it smells really good in here. I did not partake but the BBQ pulled pork was very, very tempting and prepared there by the proprietors. If you are in the area, don't miss this place as it's well worth a visit. 2015 - Review # 62
