Our builder used Cascade Flooring for our new home build and we are very disappointed in how the owner has responded to issues we have had with the installation. Issue 1: Hardwood floor installation: During the install, newly laid sections of the hardwood floor were immediately covered with a thick cardboard to protect them. That's great to make sure they don't get damaged, except we had no opportunity to evaluate the install until we happened to show up one day before they had covered the day's work. What we saw was a pattern of 4 very short boards (looked like 'chicklets') that were installed together right in front of the fireplace in our great room. The main focal point of the great room with the smallest flooring boards all installed next to each other. (I don't install flooring for a living but who would do that?) So then we asked them to take up all the cardboard so we could inspect the ~3000 sq ft of hardwood that had already been installed. We found many other places where there were 2 or 3 short boards installed together. Needless to say we were not happy about that as our expectation was that those short boards would be used as end fillers, not as main boards in the center of the room, much less more than 1 of them in a row. The owner, Cindy, called me 'persnickety' (yes to my face) for wanting the sections replaced where there were multiple short boards together. After much discussion, she finally agreed to replace a subset of the board placements we were unhappy with. Issue 2: Tile baseboard in the bathrooms. We had Schluter edging installed at the top of the baseboards but the way the installation was left makes it look like there is a line of dirt all along the top. Pictures show how they left our bathrooms with the brown grout all along the top. Cindy's response was "It's the pre-sealed grout. That's great news! The painter can fix it!". I'm not sure who is supposed to hire and pay the painter to fix it given that we have roughly 250 linear feet of tile baseboard, but that was the response. My husband and I fixed a section ourselves by washing/scraping out the dark grout, caulking and then painting. Now at least it doesn't look like I have a strip of mud on top of my baseboards but it was a fair amount of work and it's going to take a bit of time for us to fix all of it. Very disappointed with the response after spending over $120K for flooring and tile install with them. Never again. read more

We chose Cascade Flooring America in Salmon Creek as we were referred by a friend who was happy with their work. Well, to say we're also happy would be an understatement!! The entire process was smooth and easy. From being greeted by Samantha when we walked in then we were lightly guided, as in no pressure, by Scott(I hope that's right) and ultimately Ross was our contact person and was he ever great and full of helpful info. Scott was too, but since we were referred to Ross, he was our point guy. So, we chose our flooring and suddenly, BOOM, new fancy floors were in! Ray was the install scheduler and a pleasure to chat with as well as he easily worked around our weird schedules. Yesterday was install day. Jay and Dan were the installers and both were friendly, professional and full of knowledge about their craft. Also, both were fun to shoot the breeze with. Both of those guys busted their humps and got our project done fast. Not in a rushing way. In a focused highly skilled way. They removed the base boards, old carpet and pad, installed the new pad and flooring and reinstalled the baseboards in half a day!! So awesome! We have more flooring projects coming up and we'll most certainly be using Cascade Flooring America in Salmon Creek again. read more

I do not recommend cascade flooring. They installed my kitchen bathroom floor back steps and basement in 2014. A couple years ago the floor started peeling away from the mob boards and now entryways. I remember in 2014. I walked out into my basement and stepped on a nail that they had not picked up after their installation. A good thing had my tetanus shot and I needed as to protect me. I would look at other options before having an install because he will have future issues. I brought my concern to the company and they blew me off. .... There is your answer. Warranty was still in good standing when I reached out to carpet USA 2015-2019 for Help and they did not want to help. Customer service was a mean, woman hater, 35-40-year-old man. read more

My husband and I have been in the market for new carpeting. We have been working with a big box home improvement store, but before finalizing our choice we stopped here. This is a local business, and my husband used to be neighbors with an employee here. We came in today, on a Saturday. A woman greeted us with her mask below her nose, and was less than knowledgeable. She stated several times that if we wanted she'd "bring down one of the guys". Bring down? From where? You keep your staff who know carpet elsewhere? We looked around a bit, and then had questions. It wasn't clear what their prices were for installation and padding. The lady, I believe her name was Kathy, said she didn't know the answers as she was new. She said she'd "call and have someone come down" to assist us. She made a phone call, and several minutes later 2 men appeared, neither wearing masks. We asked them our questions, but their answers were vague with miscellaneous fees that may or may not be charged (pulling the old rug, disposal of the old rug) depending if we chose to do it ourselves or pay for it. Basically, it was all vague. And, there were multiple groups of customers milling around and not being helped! And they also seemed confused by the vague pricing and business model. They too were being offered "to have someone come down". This business model is nuts! People want to buy local and support businesses that aren't chains, but NOT when it's hard to do so! We ended up leaving. And, here's the funny thing. We went back to our nearest big box store and literally saw 2 other groups of people who had also JUST BEEN AT CADCADE FLOORING WITH US!!! Obviously they too left unsatisfied!!! We finalized our carpet purchase with the big box store today, too bad for Cascade Flooring as they missed out on our very large transaction. 3 stars are ONLY for them being a local business, their nice building and displays, and their convenient location. I understand masks are controversial, but a mandate is a mandate, and I'm immunocompromised. read more

Wasn't going to write a review but too many issues to be ignored. Disclaimer, this was the flooring company the builder used for flooring and hard surfaces. Our negative experiences are strictly with Shawn Medak. The experience started out good when we met with Karen at the showroom. She was extremely nice and helped us make decisions we were really happy with. During one of the later site visits to our new home I noticed the tile design on the fireplace was different than was drawn and signed off on (see pictures). The builder reached out to Shawn and was told that the drawing they provided us was "conceptual" and if we wanted to change what they did, it would be roughly $1400. The builder said he would take care of and it was fixed, but I'm not fully sure that $1400 wasn't then rolled into some other cost like landscaping (since the price of that went up). We'll never really know, but the fact Shawn's response was "it's a conceptual drawing, not our problem" was infuriating. A.) what's the point of drawing the design and having us sign off on it in the first place if it's only conceptual and B.) couldn't you have just talked to us about the change first? That was really the only issue and I wasn't going to write a review about one small thing; but then I reached out to Shawn about some additional work I was looking to hire Cascade Flooring for. I wanted to change a room from carpet to the same flooring they had already laid (again this is a paid request, not asking for anything for free). I called and left a message, no response. I emailed, no response. I reached out to the builder and he reached out to Shawn who replied and said to email him. I emailed him on 7/24 and he said he would get back to me on Monday 7/26. Didn't hear from him, again sent him an email just saying "sounds good, just let me know". Never heard from him. August 3rd I emailed and said "I assuming you're pretty swamped. Just checking in on this request.", basically giving him an out if they are just too busy. He replied: "I apologize it is a little crazy right now and I had 1/3 rd  of my team out of the office the last couple weeks, but I will get this knocked out for you.". I never heard from him again. My wife even called in Early September and left a message, again never got back to her. Meanwhile I went to Carpet USA, they came out the next week, gave me an estimate, ordered the flooring and installed it. My warranty is still valid with Cascade flooring but honestly I don't think I'd even waste my time reaching out to them at this point. read more

The carpet Tech was agreeable when talking to my husband(white male) to defiant and rude talking to me(nonwhite/female) Difference in attitude between treatment of different customers. Long lead times of 3-6 weeks with conflicting information information. More than one star on account of the polite receptionist. There are many carpet samples but we were told they would all need to ship from Georgia. Please retrain your techs on professional communication. read more

From friendly Kathy at the door to Keith our salesperson, we found our initial "look around" very pleasant. We felt seen, heard, and respected. Keith never pushed us in price and kept us educated while we were making our decision. Rich, the estimator was so skilled at knowing what needed to be done to make our installation go smoothly. Ray, the scheduler, patiently answered my many questions. On the installation days, Matt, Dan, Jay and Drayden did a FANTASTIC job. We had both wood-look laminate (Mowhawk RevWood Premium, which we are thrilled with) and carpeting installed. They worked around some difficult areas easily. The transitions look terrific- as if they'd always been there. So- the communication was stellar on every level; the products are nicely high end, the prices were good, I can easily see how Cascade Flooring will make the best of 2023 list for 10 years in a row. As a follow up to my previous review, since I had entered the comments solely on selection, ordering, etc. BEFORE the products we ordered were actually installed, I wanted to update the review to cover the installation and project closeout service we received. As stated previously, we bought wood flooring, tile flooring, bathroom shower tile & pan, carpet, a small amount of vinyl flooring for the laundry room, and granite and quartz counter tops. So really a variety of products and install types. There were different teams who came to our house. The wood floor crew was great - these guys knocked it out, cleaned up after themselves, and did a wonderful job with installation. The shower tile and floor tile installation guy Victor was a perfectionist - he took his time and really cared about the quality of his install. The carpet crew was equally professional and the carpet looks amazing. Spend the money and get the better pad because its an obvious upgrade when you walk on the carpet. Finally, Wall to Wall did a bang up job installing the granite and quartz counters. Cascade really takes pride in who they hire for installation - this group of guys was the best we had on the entire project. They treated our home with respect, cleaned up, and came back to fix any punchlist items (to be clear, these were minor - reinforcing caulk that had settled at the backsplash, resealing a small area of granite and cleaning up a tad bit of silicone on a countertop). Scheduling was very easy and without issue. I am a picky customer, and Cascade was amazing. Adam continued to be so easy to do business with. This is a company that cares. I highly recommend Adam and Cascade. read more

We are super happy with Jeff, Oscar, Vlad and the entire crew. We had a whole home flooring remodel with tile, hardwood and carpet. The tile crew worked extra hours to get our old particle board and vinyl up. They worked to match the height of the new baseboard we were adding elsewhere and when there was an edge mismatch, we made plans to deal with it. The wood team worked until 9pm to get us done on time before the carpet team arrived. They went above and beyond when we discovered part of the floor was raised and we did not know it. More particle board that two two people two days just to demo. The additional cost was minimal. In fact, the team found that we didn't need some work done that we thought we did and that saved a substantial part of the bill. The tile looks great, the carpet is soft (we got upgraded when the pad we wanted was out of stock) and the wood is just amazing. The team worked with us to nail down the plywood which was squeaking before the job and fixed about 90% of that, and that wasn't part of the job. The vents we wanted didn't fit into our registers so Jeff worked to modify them so they would fit. In fact, he is having a custom vent made for our goofy kitchen vent. The process to do this job was over a year because my wife and I could not decide on a product. When we walked into the showroom after literally a year had passed, Jeff remembered us by name. These projects are stressful for anyone and we appreciate the effort Jeff and crew went to in order to deal with the issues that came up and leave us satisfied. read more

My husband and I bought a house last year. Before moving in, we knew we wanted to rip out the carpet on the main floor. We had some ideas of what we wanted as far as flooring went, but cascade flooring helped us to make some great decisions. My husband had done some research and found that stranded bamboo was a good choice, much harder and more durable than the oak hardwood we had in our last place. We got a fabulous product, the bamboo that we wanted with the distressed look that we love. The price was comparable to what we would have paid at a box store, and the service was much better. Their contractors are awesome. We put in our order and had our hardwood floors installed a week later. They installed over 800 ft.2 of bamboo flooring in one day. They did such a good job transitioning from tile to the new wood flooring, that we didn't even need the T joints ( I think that is what they are called). So, we ended up spending less than the bid. That is never bad thing. Plus, because they were able to install the whole floor in one day, we were able to start moving in our furniture early. All around, a good experience. read more

However, husband and I had planned on using Ikea for their quartz countertops solely based on price... that wait was 2 months out...and customer service was not special. We built a new home and met with a wonderful representative who helped us pick out all of our carpet, flooring and countertops. We were happy with everything we picked and then we closed on our home. The service was fantastic up until we closed and completed our build. We had some follow up questions and called several times and never got to speak with anyone. They just continued to forward us to voicemail and never once called us back. We still have those questions unanswered. We also had an issue with the carpet not being secured and not getting a response from the warranty department for over a month. We are now almost 2 months after the request from the warranty department and still do not have an answer as to when they will be out to repair our carpet. read more

I wish I could give this company zero stars. I tried to hire them to lay flooring for my business. At the time I had 6 weeks to get my job done. He came out to look at the job and then I scheduled to pick out the flooring. He was not there at the time he had agreed to meet me so he had someone else show me samples. I was told they would have a bid for me the next day and could have a crew out the next week. Then I receive no bid and no start date. I told him and the woman I talked to that I need the job done as soon as possible or it would greatly impact my business. They assured me they could have a crew out the next week. No bid, no start date. So after a week of me calling, texting and emailing them with no response, I started calling every hour until someone talked to me. Again I was assured that I would have a bid and start date the next morning. So I get a call the next morning saying that after all of that, after 6 weeks of back and forth, they can't do my job. Due to complications that, if it were true, the reason he gave, he should have told me that 6 weeks ago instead of stringing me along saying he could do my job and get it done on time... Now I am in a world of hurt. Scrambling around trying to find someone else to take my job as my lease is up in my current space and I now only have 2 weeks to move into my next one. The floors are damaged and have to be done before we can move in... So 6 employees with mouths to feed at home and nowhere to work... I work there full time myself. How will I pay my bills and feed my family if I have to shut down my business until the flooring is done...??? Regardless of the excuses that were given. Communication is key. I chose this company out of the others that bid the job and they completely dropped it last minute and tried to blame it on me. If they couldn't do the job for whatever reason I should have been informed 6 weeks ago, not last minute when it will break me. read more

Being a former repeat customer I expected the same service as my first. I was sadly mistaken. After calling the store I received no return call from my former sales rep. My wife and I went to the store and did pick out a product. The measure up was done in a timely manner. Then no quote? Called the store our sales person is out we are then transferred to another. A promise was made to follow up. Once again no contact we called. Now informed paperwork has been lost but will look for it. Once again no contact made by Cascade. It's been 3 weeks without follow up not counting the 3 calls we made requesting a response from Cascade and am happy to report the job is complete. Michaels Floor Covering did a great job from measure up to complete in 2 weeks. The 1 star for Cascade is they measured when promised everything beyond that was a failure! read more

Had a completely unsatisfying shopping experience here. I say shopping, because we are not buying. Sales person talks, and talks, but would not listen to our requests...just tried to convince us that we needed other products, etc. Gave us incorrect information about one of our wood flooring issues and would not ask someone else for verification. Called to ask questions about our installation. Was told that he could not answer them because he "wouldn't want to give that info to our competitors" What??? The stars are for the guy who measured our floor, was very knowledgeable, and has been in the industry for years. When I called and asked to speak with him, the salesperson said we couldn't. So if he can't answer our questions, and we can't speak with anyone who can that leaves us heading out the door to find someone who doesn't play games. There are two kinds of sales people "affirming" and "negating"...ours was the latter. And to add to our experience, the sales person sent us a long, nasty email outlining what awful customers we were...lol...unbelievable! What a waste of our time!! read more

Should be Zero Star! Cascade Flooring was referred to us by our friends so because of that we went with them. But I will not ever refer them to anyone I know after what we went through. When we finally decided to go with them Jon who we were working with asked us to pay 100% up front. I said no to that and he excepted 1/2 down. I have done may remodels and have never been asked to pay upfront. Now after working with them I see why they try to get all the money upfront. June 26, 2017 Tile tear appt scheduled for 10 a.m.-1p.m. window. No show! After many phone calls to Cascade Floors no return calls for hours. Del shows up to tear out tile but does not arrive until 2 p.m. So much for the window they gave us. He said he had only found out at noon that he had to come to our house. Jon never told him about our appt. But my husband had been talking to Jon earlier and Jon never said that. Amazing how our 10 a.m. appt. meant nothing to them. Who cares that we are waiting all day for them, obviously they don't care. Granite installers window was 2-5p.m., they show at 3:15 but poor Del was not even close to being done with the tear out. Fortunately they all worked together and Del finished the tear out and the Granite guys waited for him patiently. The granite guys are from Wall to Wall and they proceeded to lay down thick paper to protect our brand new floors. But they did not pay attention and laid the paper on top of some tile chips which I had to point out. Our new floors has 9 scratches or gouges on it now! mostly where they did not cover the floor. So that was not too smart! They were installing and realized that the backsplash was not cut correctly so they would have to take it back to the shop to cut again and said they did not know when they would be back. How did it get cut wrong? they came out to measure everything. They did not leave our home until 10:30 p.m. that night. They are really hard workers once they get to your house. Apparently "Wall to Wall" and "Cascade Flooring" over book their workers and are never on schedule, the workers told me. Nor do they return you phone calls EVER! June 28th: granite guys coming to finish granite back splash area 12:30-3:30 scheduled appt. No show! Husband called and they said they are running late and will be here at 5 p.m. Showed and said they can not put it in because it was not cut correctly for the second time. June 3oth: granite guys coming 1:30-4:30 but no show again. a phone call received from owner of Cascade Flooring says they will be here by 5 p.m. No show! Owner calls and says they will now come tomorrow at 8 a.m. Really!!!! OMG! July 1, 2017 appt at 8a.m. and he showed up at 8:15, acceptable in my book. July 1, 2017 8 a.m. appt scheduled: Aug 3rd: Backsplash scheduled 8 a.m. Wall to Wall shows up and he tells me that Jon did not tell him he had to tear any tile out. Then he says that the Vent hood needs to be removed and he does not do that. No communication AGAIN!!! Jon apparently is going to send someone out after the call was made. Then the installer told me that he removed the tile and he does not need to take the vent out because the original tile only went up an inch or so. When approving the Jon's drawing of the backsplash he forgot to do one of the sections, we had to remind him. Same with the original drawing with Wall to Wall they had not known about a section. Everyone seemed very confused on this job. The communication was terrible and Jon did not let the workers know exactly what was going on so everyone one of them was surprised when they arrived because of wrong paperwork and notes. Aug 10th: Dale came to do repairs to the floor that was damaged. On time I might add. Brand new floor and he put hot wax in the holes that were gouged out of our brand new floors. He could not tell me how long this would last. and it does not look great and it feels like wax not like a new floor should feel. Oct 6th Sunny came to look at the 14 places that the floor was damaged and waxed over from his worker. We mutually agreed that 5 out of the 14 would be replaced and Vladamier would come on Monday between 1-2 p.m. Oct. 9th, I covered all the furniture and counters with plastic to minimize the dust. 1 pm then 2 p.m then 3 pm, No show , My husband texts Sunny the owner to find out where he was or if he was coming. Sunny never returned the text. dave then called the office spoke to a woman who then tracked down Vladimere who was sent to a different job by mistake. Vladimere showed up around 4:45 and did not want to cut into the floor. He wanted to repair the gouges with a hot wax and felt it was the best way to go. We let him do it but it is not what we paid for. Conclusion: DO NOT HIRE! THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND ANY OF THIER MISTAKES or their work! YOU CAN READ WHAT HAPPENED, YOU MAKE YOUR DECISSION... Note: we are not the only negative reviews, I would not trust the positive reviews for one second. read more

I've been hating on my carpet for the past four and a half years. Upon realizing that I'm not moving anytime soon, the carpet had to go. I mean one of us had to go... and it was not going to be me. Cascade Flooring had an overwhelming selection of floor coverings. Everything from carpet to recycled materials to gorgeous stone and hardwoods. I was overwhelmed. I am not an interior designer. I can barely dress myself coherently. So, imagine exactly HOW overwhelmed I was. Thankfully, the staff was attentive, knowledgeable and patient. I walked out with three samples to take home and place around my house to help with my decision-making. I returned the next day and met the owner who had started this business out of her garage in the mid-70's. She was down-to earth, sincere and wanted to make sure my needs were being met. I placed my order on Sat. and my carpet was in the following week. Within three days, I had new carpet installed in my home. The entire process was seamless from start to finish. They offer a discount if you pay by cash or check. Fresh popcorn and beverages are available in the showroom, as well as, an area for children to hang while their parents shop. We had laminate floors installed in the entire downstairs of our home 5-years ago. It looked good starting out but I have been really disappointed with how they have worn over time. I believe this has been mostly due to poor installation, boards routinely shift leaving gaps, the tiniest splash of water causes little swollen bumps that can't be fixed. The T moulding was installed with nothing but widely spaced blobs of what looks like crafting hot glue that are all giving way causing the moulding to pop up and split. We've had to try to match the look with replacement T moulding from home Depot this time installing it correctly and taking the time to secure some of the boards cut short so they would stop slipping. It looks way better but has been a lot of work and not cheap. The old saying is true, if you want something done right you'd better do it yourself. read more

CFA was recommended by a friend whose mother had her floors done by them. Adam was our sales rep when we first went to the showroom. He was very attentive & helpful, showing us lots of different samples. We were able to take samples home & found the flooring we wanted. We worked with Adam to get a date set & get all the paperwork together. The contract was a bit confusing & now that the project is complete & we're able to reflect back, we think Adam could have explained the process a bit better. The contract was many pages long & the information was very confusing. We had questions & it seemed difficult to connect by email or phone. His reasoning was always that he was "really busy". We finally got the paperwork squared away & a date set a couple weeks out. Kenny & crew showed up on time, masked due to COVID & ready to go to work. They were able to complete our 1,600sf home in 2 days. They were very efficient, professional, courteous, hard working & easy to communicate with. They get a 5+ star review! A couple weeks later we had the baseboards installed. We requested Kenny & crew, which Adam said he could do, but then Kenny got "pulled away for another job" the day of install. There was not a call from Adam informing us of the change. The install went well & they did an excellent job. They get a 5+ stars as well. I am overjoyed with the work that Wendy Olin did in helping me select flooring and tile. She listened, provided wonderful suggestions and the outcome was just beautiful! She has a background in design, so you are getting a professional who knows the stock and has a great deal of style. Their team who did the installation, Lance and Scott, were professional, helpful and even went the extra mile for us! They worked hard to get the job done on time for my plumber's arrival. The store itself has a great deal of choices in many different price categories, so whether you are doing your humble home or the castle, they have everything you may need and Wendy will listen and provide wonderful guidance. From the very first visit to Cascade Flooring America on Hwy 99 in Vancouver, Washington, it has been an absolute pleasure. We were met by Jeff Balderree and he was courteous and genuinely interested in our flooring project. Jeff listened and showed us samples of what we were anticipating as our choice of flooring. We choose the Stonewood Hickory natural hand scraped style in a wider plank, about 600sq feet. The ordering process was simple and the cost value was right within our budget. (An extra comment about Jeff, he never tried to "up sell us", but he did "help us buy" what we needed. This I greatly appreciated). When we were ready to install the flooring, delivery was on our time frame and on time. The installing process was excellent as well. Vladimir and crew were on time and finished by the end of the day. Their workmanship is excellent, every piece of plank in place and locked tight. Clean up was done and all the waste scrapes removed, and extra pieces stacked neatly in the garage. I would like to say what a wonderful experience I've had with Cascade Flooring. 2 months ago my wife and I purchased a house that needed extensive work before move in. We needed new carpet and our hard woods refinished. Barry came out and measured everything and was very upbeat and friendly. They were very flexible with the timeline we had and had someone out the day we requested. The installer was very professional and did a great job on our carpet. Our hardwoods were just completed today and look absolutely amazing. Val, who did the hardwoods was also very professional, friendly and kept us in the "loop". You just don't find this kind of service anymore, and it's refreshing to see that it's still out there. I walked into Cascade Flooring, and I was greeted by Jeff. He wasn't pushy, and he allowed me time to myself to look around. I couldn't decide between 2 different laminate floors, so he let me take the samples home with me. I chose a floor, and within a few days, Rich came to my new home to take measurements.
