I always get my steaks here whether it's a cowboy steak or a couple New Yorkers! Always fully staffed and fresh! I also love their deli. They feature gourmet food items set in delightful surroundings. They also offer freshly prepared sandwiches and more. Alas, we had just come from a big breakfast nearby, so I wasn't hungry. I did purchase several items and had a short chat with the shopkeeper. Just being in the bright, beautifully merchandised space made me feel happy. It contributed to my vacation state of mind, too. Can't wait to try the special garlic blend I purchased there. I definitely wish that they were located closer to us. I'd be stopping in to Garnish very frequently if they were nearby. The whole vibe goes well with a historic building setting. I could see this shop fitting in really well in downtown Ventura or Santa Barbara. I came in here as I was in the area and wanted to get their tuna salad which used to be screaming! The lady said I would have to wait 20 minutes for them to make it so I passed. Then I said I will just have a coffee. She said she has to make another pot..5 to 10 minutes. GEEZ! I was the only one in the deli! Unfortunately they did not have alot of items to choose from. Very minimal fish selection. They transformed their dining area to accommodate Suishi in the raw but does not open until 430 pm. Hopefully that generates some business! I hope they can clean up the place and have a bigger selection. I will continue to go to the larger and newer organic grocery store in Grass Valley in the meantime.

We run a mobile coffee business, so seeing some of the reviews that said they were "disappointed" that they couldn't get a large cappuccino or that macchiato would be a small drink is frustrating. Starbucks has ruined the coffee experience for majority of people. Espresso drinks are made with specific ratios of milk to espresso so making something a "large" that's designed to be a 6 ounce drink, doesn't work unless you want to pay extra for extra shots. I wish people knew what they were ordering before giving a coffee house a 4/5 starts. *Sigh*. We got a brown honey/hazelnut latte and brown sugar cardamom latte. We make all our own syrups for our coffee trailer so we're bougie. I like the sweetness of the honey/hazelnut but couldn't really taste the hazelnut. The cardamom latte had an interesting savory component that I wasn't a super fan of, but overall, good coffee!

They were very busy, given the holiday weekend so it took almost 15 minutes by the way. When they finally called the drinks out, they had only made mine a dirty chai, so they had to add espresso to hers. Fine. I was excited to drink it but both my friend and I took a sip and made the same exact disgusted face. There was nothing redeeming about the drink, and it tasted like chalk. The stars for this place were for the scone, which was delicious. That said, the chai was awful and I wouldn't recommend.
