We always stop here for a sandwich to take home after going to Reno for a day or weekend of fun, for years. The sandwiches are always big and wonderful, fresh soft bread and nice amont of veggies and meat. They smoke their own meat. So tasty. But yesterday we stopped to get our sandwiches to take home for dinner. Not good. Bread was stale. The sandwich was lacking the robust days of years ago. It was like a cafeteria sandwich. Uneven sliced tomato, only one slice on a whole sandwich, 2 pieces of 1/4 cut romaine slice, 1/2 slice of cheese and a minimal amount of mayo. The meat was a blob on the sandwich. We ordered 2 sandwiches at a cost of $24. I guess the glory days are over. :( read more

This is a nice little market right off the highway to grab a quick bite or shop for essentials. I stopped here while staying across the street at Harmony Ridge Lodge. We were craving for a quick dessert and grabbed an amazingly large size of chocolate cake from here. They are a family owned business and a good way to support local business. read more

The Harmony Ridge Market is a great little market situated in an excellent spot for all of those who are traveling down Highway 20. I've gone there after hiking in Emigrant Gap and paddle boarding at Scotts Flat. I finally tried a sandwich and got the herbivore, which is on sourdough. Along with the dill pickle Kettle Chips abs root beer, it was a delicious meal! They also have ice cream/popsicles to crave my sweet tooth. read more

Won't let your young child use the restroom. Not even if you buy something. I've worked at small businesses before where we don't have restrooms for the public either but we still allow for children or pregnant women to use the employee restroom if needed. I've never wrote a 1 star review before but I was so appalled by their lack of compassion that this business and its people had that I felt it was necessary to post about our experience. What a wonderful mountain store, deli and more! They have the expected essentials in the store, they also have some surprises on the shelves that are nice (local wine & great beer as 2 of many examples), but where this store really shines is the fresh made & homemade meals/deserts. It's hard to pick a favorite, but the 'homemade by the owners' deserts are phenomenal; recently Blackberry-topped Lemon Cheesecake, Carrot cake & Chocolate cake). Usually there are always homemade brownies and rice crispy treats; all as good as you can make at home. Similarly fantastic are the handmade sandwiches and the fresh cooked meals coming off the grill. It is silly not to stop in for a meal & a treat if you're in the area! The prices are better than the restaurants in the nearby downtowns of GV & NC. read more

Stumbled across this awesome little market. It is a great place to stock up before or after hitting the trail. They have a large selection of great craft beers and a fantastic deli. I had the breakfast burrito and a mocha, and both were soooo good. Their burritos were huge and they use high quality ghirardelli chocolate in the mocha which was delicious. Their sandwiches looked great also, and we will definitely be coming back for lunch sometime soon. read more

My family and I were in the area to check out a property we were considering purchasing. We were driving North on 20 just past the market when my wife started having severe menstrual cramping and pain in her uterus. I made a u-turn and we pulled into Harmony Ridge. My wife walked into the store and requested to use the bathroom, but was told no there were no public restrooms. She asked the lady working if she could pay to use the bathroom. The lady responded "we are in a forest, find a tree outside". My wife returned to the car in tears and told me they didn't have a public restroom, that the attendant told her to find a tree. I told my wife to request to use the bathroom and explain that it's a medical emergency. The attendant told my wife that she should have used the bathroom in town that we just drove through. My wife returned to the car throwing up from the pain she was experiencing. I ran inside and pleaded with the woman working. She told me "you could have made it into town by now, I can't help you." I asked her if she had kids and if she had any compassion. She told me she had 4 kids and didn't care, she couldn't help us. I have to admit, I lost my cool and told her the first several choice words that came to mind. The owner contacted us to ensure this situation won't happen again. I'm still unsure of the bathroom policy, but I'm confident the owner will update us soon. read more

Super cute store off the 20W HWY right before you're out of the woods. We needed some coffee really bad and made a wrong turn and ended up in the creepy unwelcoming town of Washington City in which we were basically told we can't get coffee in that town and would have to get back on the HWY. Racist much? We were a group of yellows lol. But according to other reviews they were serviced there. Anyhow after getting back on the 20 we saw this welcoming sign with a rainbow that said Harmony Ridge. It was almost like a breath of fresh air. My children and cousin stayed in the car still a little skeptical after our experience moments before. My friend and I walked in we were greeted with warm smiles and man did we have a sigh of relief. The to beautiful ladies that worked there were very welcoming and friendly. The store not only carried coffee but sandwhiches, pastries, drinks, different coffee blends, locally roasted coffee, handmade soaps, locally roasted coffee beans, boho tops, dresses, skirts and bags. Its like we found the light in a dark road. lol. We went from creepy little mine town to Hipster Ville. Harmony Ridge, the name really does suit it well. Anyhow my coffee stop ended with a cup of coffee, an Italian torta, handmade soap, locally roasted ground coffee beans to go, a boho top and a big smile on my face. I definitely recommend this place if you happen to be driving down the 20 near Tahoe and need to make a pit stop. We will definitely be stopping by in the Summer (^_^) read more

My wife and I stopped by the Harmony Ridge Market at least half a dozen times now over the last two years and each time the staff are friendly and the food is excellent. :-) We live off of Hwy 49, between Grass Valley and Lake of the Fines, and gladly make the little 12 to 15 minute drive up there just for the top notch food and nice service. Definitely give'em a try and tell your friends about'em to. :-) read more

I used to like to stop here during my bike ride for some refreshment. I was disappointed to see one of their workers strutting around the store without a mask, despite the fact that her 3 co-workers had masks on. When she came to the register to accept payment on my drink she put on her mask which hung loosely under her nose. This market has several signs out front stating that masks are mandatory due to the COVID situation. I'm sure they have a lot of cliente as many mountain bikers start/end their rides here so I cannot understand this woman's irresponsible actions towards cliente and co-workers, especially if she's at the register interfacing with so many people. I won't be stopping here again. This is the only reason for the one star rating. read more

This is a complete store review as we were here after Deli closed. Solid spot and super friendly counter kid! Helped me find what they had and that leads me into the 3 stars. Since the Scotts flat campground does not sell any food you'd think they would have hotdog buns and such. Also Bar S hotdogs.... if the kid was not nice I'd have ranted about them having 6$ artesian chocolate bars but Bargain basement hotdogs? Well I can safely say I am no longer a speculating hater. I now have first hand experience and dislikBar S hotdogs haha! Assuming they were just cleaned out from holiday weekend before but still a bummer. read more

It saddens me that I have to give this place a 1 star review. We have been going to this market for at least 15 years and everyone and the food has been great. However, we went on 6/30 at 8:15am and the lady working was terrible. Walked in and the first thing she said was "You're not going to make me make you eggs are you" we said "yes" and then she said "you had that look". Then she asked what we wanted and we said a breakfast burrito and then she said "oh fuck" that's when we just said yeah never mind then and walked out the door. Obviously just a staffing issue and should be fired immediately. read more

The staff have always been kind and helpful, and the food is amazing! I love this little place. The people are amazing, and whether there are locals hanging out or camping peeps, smiling faces are all around. I ditched a star because my two sandwiches have only been just okay. One day I had the meatball, and the next I had a traditional turkey on a French roll. Whatever... its close and not like you should be expecting a fine dining experience. They have a wide selection of beverages and carry lots of essentials. Prices are on the high side, but worth it to keep a store open in the community. I also had the curry chicken salad from the cold counter and it was amazing. They carry bagels from down the hill at Bubbas and those are bomb. I guess I should repeat... the prices are high, but worth keeping such a cool place open. You should see the beautiful horses that are always chilling while riders from the trail take a break. read more

When our truck broke down camping nearby, they gave us the exact contact information we needed to get it fixed, and even loaned us the use of a wrench. My daughter & I came from Maryland to visit our cousins & Uncle who live just a bit over 3 miles from the market. On 8/10/16 Uncle Helge suggests us getting lunch at his favorite spot (which he walks to, a good 3x's week) So glad we did! Everyone was friendly, made us great sandwiches (awesome selection) & made us feel right at home. We ate outside on the deck, enjoying our food, the atmosphere & our time together. You don't want to drive by this market & you just might want to go a bit out of your way to come here. There is something for everyone here. Especially, good old fashion hospitality. We've stopped here before to get camp items but this time went in for a little sweet treat. Holy wow, I got what it now my most favoritest piece of cheesecake ever: huckleberry cheesecake. Homemade and what a treat. Stop in to get a sandwich, dessert, beer, towels, wood. Thankful this is nearby place for our campsite. read more

After a really friendly and nice young lady make me teo iced drinks from the espresso bar, she informed me that it cost .50 cents extra for the ice! Then she prceeded to let me know that they have to buy the ice!... Really? They have to buy cups too! ha...Ok... The drinks were ok... A bit pricy at 5.25 for an iced mocha. But , I think this little establishment needs to realize if you getting ICE with your coffee drink...your getting LESS coffee! read more

All the other reviews are great...so I guess we will try again. maybe they were having an off day. The service was great! Very friendly and helpful so no complaints there. Several of the sandwiches on the menu come with avocado. I ordered the California BLT and my husband ordered the Craiger. We were informed that there was only half an avocado left but they could split it between the two sandwiches. Ok ...My husband and I both agree that these were easily the worst sandwiches we have ever eaten. The bread was toasted to the point that the first bite tore up the roof of our mouths. The bread was on the stale side and very very dry. My Blt left me with the idea that the food is not very fresh...the bacon seemed like it had been hanging out a while the single piece of romaine was wilted and the sad little rounds of tomato were transparent., If you are going to sell a BLt ala carte for nearly $8.00 every bite should actually have lettuce and tomato. I actually had to take the lettuce and tomato from half the sandwich and combine it with the other half just to get one edible half that was mediocre at best. I was starving so I ate it. We were really disappointed because we drove from Alta Sierra to the hwy 20 location just to check it out because we had heard it was great. read more
