I REALLY did not want to buy a new one, but was almost resigned to it, fearing it was water damaged. I thought we'd at least get a repair person's opinion. A lot of reviews I read of other shops said they'd been charged a LOT for diagnosing the problem and I was not interested in that. I came across the Yelp page for The Phone Doctor in Kirkwood and it sounded like they offered diagnostics for free. I made an appointment (easily done through their website) and went into the shop. Parking on that Saturday afternoon was super easy with plenty of space in the free lot behind their building and even several spaces on Jefferson just adjacent. I handed the phone over the counter and before it was out of my hand the technician said, "Needs a new screen." I was skeptical, but a second tech looked over his shoulder and agreed. They quoted me $125 and 15 minutes, I said, "Deal!" I was out the door with a working phone in about 10 minutes, in which time I ordered a heavy duty case so we don't end up repeat customers too soon. Could not be happier!

He offered to let me use a screen for $50 and get all my info off to my new phone and then he would just put the broken screen back. Considering the cost of a new screen is 300, this was good news. I spent a good hour or more trying to get some encrypted info off my phone. I needed to do more research but the technician was with me all the way. He gave me time to do what I needed to do and helped me troubleshoot what I needed to with no stress or pushiness which made a stressful situation a lot less hectic. Update review based on getting a 2nd opinion on a water damaged device…read more Last year after my iPad Pro was water damaged I took it to mobile device doctors and they looked at it and accessed it could not be fixed. A year later I figured it was worth a 2nd opinion from a 5-Star rated company before purchasing a new one. The 5-star company was no only able to repair the screen issue but ID'd that the previous service rep (Mobile Device Doctor in this case) put a service sticker with the wrong type of iPad (2nd gen vs 3rd gen which makes a big difference) and more importantly why I am leaving this review is some internal parts were not put back into the iPad (ie board covers). Whether this was intentional (integrity issue) or unintentional (sloppy work), want to make sure the public is aware. I've give the company an opportunity to rectify the issue by issuing a full refund for the service and deem what they think is fair for leaving out internal parts.

My computer was having problems, and I couldn't leave home. Someone drove all the way to where I lived and repaired my computer in a single visit. I was so relieved since I really depended on my computer. The 2nd time was last year when a different computer (a very heavy 27" iMac) needed to go into the shop for repair. There's no way I could have carried the computer, so someone from Computer Solutions came and picked up the iMac and took it to the shop for repair and afterwards returned it. Again, such a relief! The 3rd time was last week. My computer had crashed, and not only was I facing the loss of my computer but, more importantly 10 years of precious data. I had conferred with Apple tech by phone, and they were unable to do anything. I brought my machine to Computer Solutions, and in a very short time they were able to repair my computer and thus preserve all of my data. It felt like a miracle, and I was thrilled.
