His excuse? A prior job ran long and he had "commitments" afterward. Instead of doing what any reputable HVAC tech would do--working late to ensure a customer has working AC--he chose to clock out on time and leave me sweating in a hot house. If you value your time and your home's comfort, don't risk it with this company. Booking here means clearing your schedule just to get a last-minute cancellation and a vague promise to maybe show up days later. Absolutely unprofessional and completely disrespectful. Good luck finding a reliable company to get that AC up and running quickly!

STAY AWAY! I…read morecontacted Absotemp because my air conditioner broke -- right before a heat wave. I was told that there was a service charge of $90 and was given a 4 hour window. Matt, apparently the owner of the company, came a few minutes after the end of that window, a couple minutes after 4:00 p.m. (BTW, he smelled of pot.) When he got here, he asked what the problem was & I explained that the air conditioner wasn't working. He immediatey went to the furnace. I told him I wasn't having trouble with the furnace, it was the air conditioner. He then proceeded to tell me that they are connected, my furnace is old and inefficient, and possibly dangerous. He spent a lot of time looking at it and taking pictures. He then got a phone call and was gone for about 15 minutes. He came back and continued explaining to me about the different kinds of furnaces. I reminded him that I called him about the air conditioner. He asked what kind of thermostat I had and then he finally went to look at the air conditioner. He said that was old as well (both were probably original and from the 1970s), but he couldn't figure out when. He called someone about tracing the model, but they couldn't do it either. He then came back into the house & said he'd go into his truck and write up an estimate. An hour and a half later, I went outside to see if he was still here. All of his prices were really high. And again, it was AIR CONDITIONING repair that I contacted him about. After he asked if I had any questions, I said, "I asked you to come out because of the air conditioning. Can you do anything about it?" He huffed and went outside. He came back in after a couple minutes and said that it was the motor fan and "There's nothing I can do about, it Sweetie." :O (That was the second time he called me that!) When I asked if he had any suggestions, he said "Stay in the basement." It was not said with humor. He then asked for a check ("or an ACH") -- AND HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING except waste nearly 4 hours of my time. I had 3 other companies come out after that. Not a single one charged for an estimate, they didn't take ridiculous amounts of time, and they didn't try to oversell me. Needless to say, I chose a different company.

I called the famed T&G and they tried to rob me blind after they came out with some outrageous pricing for refrigerant. Contacted at least 5 other companies that would not tell me how much per lb they charge for refrigerant the tech will let you know after the diagnostic, no thank you. I message prime time here on yelp and the pricing was up front and reasonable. Tech arrived within the arrival time frame was knowledgeable and completed the task within 20 minutes. I call them first the next time i need service.

He left without providing service and I called another company who fixed my furnace, wearing a mask, within a couple of hours of calling them. Service shouldn't be political when you own a business. And decent human beings care about their customers, not just their comfort. I do NOT recommend climate tech. They lost my business over a stupid mask.
