I saw a sign and was curious about what it was and so I was pleasantly surprised when I came to this dead end with a giant skate park! By chance I happen to have my longboard in the trunk of my car and decided to give it a try... Very nice skate park would definitely go back next time. I'm in the area.

got there, immediately liked addition to shared trail of distinction between running and vehicle…read morelanes via green paint at potential collision junctions. next, oh wait, before that, getting ready to cross riverside dr, i heard and saw hooping on the 2nd most southernly of the 5 courts, and hollered something bout hooping on the volleyball court because i've come to associate all 3 of the most southernly courts with a volleyball net setup, even though the 3rd most southernly and northernly is the only court i actually saw with one tonight. okay, so, yeah, the hooping was decently good too, saw a couple tough drives to basket, including a smooth finger rolling lay. i'd not hopped into any of the pickup runs, but glad to be there and see some action. by the way, the drives and lay transpired on the 2nd most northernly court, which tends to be where the most serious hoopers congregate from what i've saw. further, i'd heard a security officer notifying people to the courts closing in about 15 to 20 minutes, before cutting off most of the lights, leaving enough for each courtgoer to safely disperse.

This is a terrific community park with amenities for all ages…read more Ball fields (baseball/softball); courts for basketball, sand volleyball, and tennis; picnic shelters: and a seasonal splash pad are some of the attractions. Two playgrounds have rubberized surfaces for safety. Recent park upgrades include a new skate park and lighted walking path. Of course, restrooms are in the park. The park is also used for community events, which are listed on the city website.

Among the events that are held here are: OKScotfest, Oktoberfest, Boomtown art and Music festival, wednesday night rides, ONEOK FreedomFest, Starlight Band Concerts... got there and checked if the bathroom was open to use, and it was when i arrived, a bit before…read more10pm. the door is not closing all the way, as it was the last time i'd used the bathroom, though the tp stuffed into the hole where the door latch would normally be helps. nonetheless, the primary reason i'd gone to the river late at night, is more for the platform to commit to running in the upcoming firecracker 5k race on riverside. and although the 5k, from what i've understood, is further up the river, near 21st, it is a fitting location for making such a commitment because the pavilion at 41st & riverside is the favorite spot of mine for beginning a run, especially a long run, because of factors like an open stretching area and bathroom that stays open, no pun intended. further, i'm of the belief that a announcement of intention to train for a race is necessary for me because of a personal commitment to recording any training run on the strava app, and the tension from wanting to begin training and the app monthly fee not in budget for me is a reminder that a commitment not serving you is one worth reflection as to a alternative.
