Came here for the second time - first time I got a blackened mahi sandwich, which I liked much more then the fish tacos my girlfriend and I got this time. They were bland and not exactly excellent. Good, but nothing special. Service also wasn't great. Just average - it was better last time. However, the place is on Casey Key (I know, I'm a genius for pointing that out) and the view is beautiful. They also have a nice tiki bar outside across the parking lot which looks like fun. We took a boat taxi tour that was located next door and the guide recommended this place for lunch. We were seated right away and the waitress approached pretty quickly. She was not super happy to be there and looked angry when we asked for a side of ranch for our Buffalo wings and Buffalo shrimp. Kids meals were standard fare and $7.99 each. This is a very interesting place. The bar is in a tiki hut across the parking lot and the restaurant is separate. Kind of cool, kind of weird and different. I started off at the bar, I ordered a Long Island, that was the worst idea ever. The worst one I have ever had. But, oh well. We ordered a starter of calamari, the breading was so good. I wanted more. For dinner I ordered the shrimp scampi, I wanted to bathe in the garlic butter sauce. It was so tasty and the portion was huge! Casey Keys Fish House is a casual local fresh fish restaurant on the Intercoastal Waterway. They have dockside outdoor seating on the quiet inlet. It was the perfect location for us to be as a family with wiggly curious kids. I was wowed by the gluten free version of the wahoo with cilantro, tomatoes, and avocado. My husband and myself stopped in for the first time on a Saturday for takeout. He ran in and ordered the grouper sandwich with fries to split. The sandwich itself was ok but the service was awful. My husband paid with his card and made a mistake with the tip (I usually do the ordering and tips). He got confused and only tipped like a dollar and change. He couldn't understand why the waitress kept giving him dirty looks when she walked by and why he was being treated rudely. He finally realized his mistake and called over the waitress to give her a cash tip. Then her attitude changed. And she was nice. I understand that tips are everything but no reason to treat him poorly over a simple mistake. And it's not like she even brought out the food to him. The location is what draws you to try this place. It's on the water and you can people watch and see boat excursions come in from the outdoor deck seating. There is an outdoor bar that is adjacent to the restaurant and kayak water sports rental hut. You would think the food would be super fresh here being near the water. I ordered some cold peel shrimp and it was pretty gross. It seemed old and soaked in water for awhile, kinda mushy when peeled. It had old bay seasoning on it and it was wet and not appetizing. I wanted to try it and still would not even swallow it. I spit it out into a napkin. My son ate 2 and said they were gross. I ordered a fried grouper sandwich, the fish itself was fresh and good. The batter used was terrible, it was tempura not a dry flour base. It was pretty oily and gross. But the fish inside the oily tempura shell was good. It was served with fries and those were fine. I want to say my husbands blackened grouper was good, he commented they were light on the blackened seasoning and he asked for some in the side to season his fish more before eating it. He got coleslaw and I don't think he liked it. What saved the dining experience was the dessert. We shared a Key Lime Pie slice. It was on point and delicious. I didn't have a good enough experience to recommend this place, however it looks popular and you can give it a try. read more

The coolest hidden away spot. Love it! Authentic chilled out stripped down kinda joint. No pretension here. Just ultra fresh, local, well seasoned & preperade seafood. The clams w lots of garlic, white wine & butter are definitely a highlight as is the snapper. THIS snapper is outrageously good. Like even for the "I don't eat snapper" people but they devour it with out breathing between bites kind of good! Cocktails are as potent as the humidity here! It's super cute and really secluded yet it has lots of parking. Miller Lite cans were $3 so we went with the vodka/sprite were a better bargain at $4.50. We didn't try any of the food though the menu looked and sounded great. The restaurant which, is just on the other side of the parking lot, was quaint and had lots of outdoor airflow. Clean restrooms, friendly staff, and a live band (in the tiki hut). Awesome! read more

This was the best hamburger I have had in 9 months and definitely the best one I have ever had in FL (how I know its been 9 months is that was the last time I was in Portland, OR). However, I will say they were packed at 5pm on a Wednesday so there is certainly a group of locals and/or vacationing patrons who enjoy the food... but for this party of six we all say no. A friend recommended this place recently and I'm glad I checked it out! The view is really nice. Its on the waterfront which is beautiful. I ordered the peel 'n' eat shrimp as an appetizer and it was nicely seasoned. It wasn't a large portion but it was the right size for just me and reasonably priced. They brought me plenty of wet naps which was greatly appreciated. Nobody likes fishy hands. I also had a blackened mahi-mahi sandwich as my main course. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't any spice to the blackening seasoning they used but the sandwich was still very good. It was very large and served with fries, a pickle, and coleslaw. I definitely didn't finish it all. I would love to go back for dinner because the dinner menu was much larger and every seafood item on there looked perfectly thought out and delicious! read more

I have been in Osprey for a month and have gone to Casey Key Fish house 5 times. Frequenting a restaurant so much- you'd think I would be automatically giving it 5 stars. I WANT to give it 5 stars....you cannot beat the ambiance- cool beach vibe on the water. The food is consistently good and arrives quickly. The host is a friendly and genuinely nice guy. My problem is with the servers. I have had 5 different ones and EACH one has treated my party like they were doing us a favor by waiting on us. Let me reassure you dear reader, I went once with my adult children, once with my parents who are in their late 80's, twice just my husband and I- and once with friends. I want to paint the clear picture we weren't some rowdy and demanding group. Now to be clear, the place gets crowded and the waitresses work hard...that's for sure. But service with a smile goes a long way...and would probably earn you better tips.
