Update many: June 23, 2026 While not great for many business heading into the rainy season and the now flight of the snowbirds up North...... we were able to pop right in....... GET A PARKING SPOT in the gravel lot so my wife could hobble in with her bone on bone knee (getting 'fixed any day now) Service was awesome, hostess fantastic, our server was conversational and fantastic, and the beverages/drinks (the draw for my wife) were generous and tasty as usual. I am a little disappointed at the sides serving "cup" (black beans, yellow rice, and edamame) while the online menus does not post prices they are a little bit more expensive now this year and looking at my pictures from the past a little more diminutive? I do see I substituted and they made up a BEAN taco for me one time so maybe I will switch back to that creation. read more

Decided to try and get a seat here for lunch without a long wait. SUCCESS! Not much has changed since our last visit except the prices have increased. What else is new,right? They are still one of the most popular restaurants in the area. Great menu and some good entertainment at the dinner hour. I had my usual, the pulled pork Nachos. Delicious!! My ordered the Grouper tacos also very good. Service is spot on and you can't beat the view. Just old Florida decor with bar seating, tables in the sand and second deck. read more

Friday night at Nokomo's sunset hut did not disappoint! Sitting watching the sunset in the turquoise Adirondack chairs with a margarita- listening to Jimmy entertain everyone- the only thing to make this night complete is the food. Everything was delicious! We tried the fish tacos, the flatbread and hubby had a burger. Their edamame salad as a side is super yummy. The service is great! Everyone was so nice and accommodating. We were pleasantly surprised by this local spot. Not only did we catch a beautiful sunset with a smaller crowd than some of the other spots, we had an excellent server who steered us in the right direction. I would call this beachy bar food, and everything was great. The fish tacos were delicious and the drinks priced well and strong. From the moment we walked up we felt like we came to a good spot. The guy at the front (manager I believe) complimented me on how good my Camaro sounded. The place looks super cool on the outside and the view on the second floor is great with a nice breeze. Our server (Payton) greeted us at our table right away and took great care of us the whole time we were there. Went here for a friends birthday and the food was decent. Ordered a Philly steak with no mushrooms and there was mushrooms on it so that was a disappointment. Tried a French dip slider and that was excellent. Service was okay apart from waitress not customizing meal. The ambiance and scenery is amazing as it's a waterfront restaurant. My friend and I went to on Monday July 13th for dinner and music. Food, service and atmosphere were great. We had Caribbean taco and the Loaded Tiki Tacos. Both were delicious. Peyton was our server and she was great. We love music but the musician playing was not all that good. Didn't work the crowd at all. he was playing 6-9, we arrived at 708 and he was on break til 730. At 800 he took another 20 minutes break. That makes no sense to me. All and all we had a great evening because that's just who we are, but felt the need to write a review as I would not come see this musician again. read more

It is what they say it is. Waterfront tiki hut. Bars upstairs and down. I sat upstairs. Sunset view is behind you, but it's nice. Live music downstairs. Older music, older crowd. Bartender was attentive and made food recommendations. Opted for the lobster roll with edamame salad. The salad was just ok. Lot more chickpeas than edamame. Imagine cowboy caviar but with less flavor. Still not bad. The lobster roll was delicious. Was hoping for a little more lobster than was in there but it was really good nonetheless. Looked like they had plenty of other really good seafood options so I would definitely go back. Parking is a bit of an issue though. read more

Stopped in here with some friends for a nice afternoon sunset dinner. It was crazy hot and we were lucky enough to get an upstairs table right underneath the fan. There was an awesome band plane and some of the most beautiful sunset you could ever imagine. Our best thing that we've had here is always the flatbread. It is so dang good. But the very best thing they have here in our opinion is the dessert pineapple cake when we went we ended up ordering four of them for just two of us. It will make you slap somebody. read more

We stopped by this restaurant before checking in for our stay in Venice Beach. The restaurant came highly recommended for the food and view. When we arrived, it wasn't the best start as the hostess wasn't welcoming. We were a party of 7 and asked to move our seats from downstairs to upstairs, and she seemed so visibly annoyed by this. It made us want to leave and not contribute to this establishment but we didn't to give it a try since we wouldn't be dealing with her during our lunch. Our waitress made up for this, and she was very kind and attentive. The food was good; fairly average lunch, but they put their own spin on some classic dishes. Beautiful views. read more

This was such a nice place for dinner and drinks. The food was good and the drinks big. I had a large party but the staff handled it very well and even helped us get more space at our table. It was raining and got chilly since it doesn't have a wall on the first floor. Also the bathrooms are upstairs, they have an elevator but I'm not sure if it was working. Recommend this place if the weather is nice and If you're able bodied. Since the downstairs is mostly booths and high top seating. read more

One of my friends and I came to Nokomos for dinner at sunset one Monday evening. We lucked out and found two seats at the bar, facing the water and the live music. The wait for a table around 630pm was about 25 mins. The bartenders were friendly and we were able to place our food and drink orders with them and then they had the food brought over to our barstools. It was margarita Monday and I got $2 off my drink which was a pleasant surprise. My mango jalapeño margarita had chunks of jalapeño and was definitely a little spicy and fresh. It was served in a large glass with a nice garnish and umbrella. The food came out quickly and the serving size was huge. The pork luau, which we both ordered, is served over rice and beans with tortilla chips for dipping. The signature sauce was mild on the spice scale, but helped to balance out the sweet pork flavor. I thought the amount of food for $21 was more than fair. We could've easily shared one plate between the two of us. What we noticed while checking out was the tip is auto defaulted to 30% and you have to click to change it to anything else. I worry about people who are a few margaritas deep not paying attention and not realizing other choices are out there! All in all, we always have a good experience here and we're glad that we could enjoy the music and the sunset one more time before heading back home out of town. read more

The waiting area has an outdoor seating area with ample capacity. So what tipped the scale for me were the two bartenders at the waiting area bar. Nokomo's is always a fun place to go especially for our visiting out of town guests. Beautiful sunsets where you can sit and watch on a sandy beach area while you're waiting for your table. We like to go by boat after a fun day of boating since they have a few slips for docking. The food and the music is always good and you can meet a lot of new people from a lot of others places. read more

Bartender came by asked if we wanted a drink, when I started asking questions she said she would come back... never came back, someone else came by, never introduced herself, took our order For food and drinks. It was 3:30 when we placed our order. She never checked back in until 4:10, asked if we wanted another drink but said HH was over. We passed on the 2nd drink. Poor customer service, shouldn't she have checked in prior to HH ending and they still expect a 20 percent tip or higher. On a Monday, we decided to have dinner at Nokomo's in Nokomis. After attempting to plan a fancy dinner outing over the weekend without success, I found myself not in the mood to dress up. I wanted to go somewhere close, easy, and delicious--a place that feels like home. Nokomo's fits that description perfectly. I'm definitely hooked on Nokomo's. Their menu offers a variety of fresh and flavorful dishes. There's always good music, whether it's a live band or a well-curated playlist. The staff is consistently friendly, attentive, and happy, and the waterfront view is as beautiful as any. We usually sit upstairs, but since it was busy and we were hungry, we took the first available table downstairs. Despite the crowd, our wait time was minimal. My partner ordered the Ahi Tuna Nachos, and I also chose a tuna dish--though I can't recall the name, it was delicious. The nachos were plentiful, easily enough for two or three people, and I couldn't resist helping myself to some. I often don't write reviews for Nokomo's because I visit so frequently, but it's one of my top favorite spots for a relaxed, top-notch dinner in every sense of the word. read more

I had the shrimp cantina salad and we split a nacho appetizer. The nachos were good, but not fabulous. The shrimp cantina salad was also fresh and I have no complaints about it, but again there was nothing about the food that made it special. There was live entertainment that was okay, but generic for this area. Jimmy Buffet type stuff. Would I come here again? Sure.
