Horrible, moldy, cheap hotel. I don't see how this place even qualified as a "resort". Save your money and stay at a local cheap motel and I promise it will be nicer than this place. Staff is exceptionally rude and my room was absolutely unacceptable. Mold, stains, dust, rundown appliances and human fluids - a total health hazard. When I brought these issues to the attention of management, instead of resolving the issue I was charged additional fees by the owner, Chris Charles. Every weekend since I stayed here he has tried to process payments on my card, and I have been forced to close my account because of it. The owner is a total scam artist. Nice resort if you don't like kitchens or a clean room. Walls are thin AF. The neighbors run leaf blowers around 8am so good luck sleeping in. The AC filers have never been changed so they are louder than the TV! Good views and good dog policies but I would have been better off at a motel 6 for everything else!! First and last time visiting. The good: Booking was easy, they were clear on instructions on how to check in and the place was clean. We weren't able to get an early check-in, which is understandable. The place we stayed in was quaint. Nothing fancy but comfortable, well-stocked and clean. The property was well-maintained and welcoming. The bad: There are a lot of rules and if you don't pay attention, I can see how this can become a very unpleasant and expensive experience. First, for such a small place, the charges for guests, parking and towels, chairs, etc is shocking and not something I want to have to think about when I am on vacation and trying to relax or visit with friends that live in the area at the place I am staying. It would be nice to see these built into the cost and "complimentary" instead of being listed out as something I have to keep track of and schedule ahead of time. However, that's clearly only my preference. The unfortunate part came when I had to change travel plans and leave one day early. We live a 5 hour flight away and had a family emergency come up. On top of changing flights, etc there was alot going on on my end to manage. They had no problem changing my dates and excepting my early departure, but I only later came to find out that the room is non-refundable. Instead of refunding the night we didn't stay (we were able to check out on time) I was told that I will receive a "credit to the resort". So I asked if they have any other properties in the US that I can visit, since I don't see myself returning to the area for a while, if ever, or if there is any other way I can spend the money and get something in return. I have yet to hear a response. I can understand if it's a large chain and I have the option to use my "credit" towards a night anywhere else, but that's not the case. If you stay here, I suggest you pay very close attention to the details, and there are a lot. It really takes away from the small town vibe of relaxing and enjoying your time when you have to make sure you're not being charged for multiple things that may not have been made clear at all. I was unable to find anything regarding the "resort credit" in any communication: on the website, in any email or text correspondence. Not even in the DOCUSIGN. The only thing I found was when I was searching and went back to the website and tried to book a room and that is the only time that I could find that it shows that the rooms were NON-REFUNDABLE. So be very aware if you book here that if your plans change, you will not be refunded for nights you are not able to stay. Also, there is no office, it's all virtual non-contact check in. Only communication is via email or text. Ultimately, it's very bad taste that they have yet to respond to my question regarding the options to use the credit. It comes across as well, they got my money so what do they care? Unfortunately, due to that, I would not recommend staying here and I will not refer any friends or family to stay either. There are plenty of other places to choose from in the area. Also, it was confusing when booking, due to the different properties and addresses, if you aren't familiar with the area, which I was not. This hotel boasts of nice accommodations, but beware! My husband and I were assigned a room that has ants and cockroaches, the keurig machine was not dripping because of filth, lights were not working and there were broken fixtures. This is one of the worst hotels I've ever seen! Their saving grace is the restaurant! Also, we were assigned a room next to a couple who I believe worked on the premises for painting the facility and they woke us up at 4:00 am loudly arguing! Have to give this place a low rating. Maybe I the future they will get it together. We stayed one night . We are trying to find a place to bring family when they visit. The A C was not working, we went to bed hoping it would cool down, it only got hotter. I sent a message to the management, they said they" could have showed me how to correct the issue if I had stayed longer". Called to book a family weekend. So many additional fees when calling. I couldn't believe the fee after fee. Funny w/ such a low rating too. Which I did not see before calling. An extra $30 fee for a family member to sleep on the sleeper couch.... are you joking? Also you allow dogs but not all dogs.... well my amazing, well behaved pit bull girls travel all over w/ us bc they're family. And have so many friends bc everyone loves them. But too many people stereo typing the breed. I'd give this pl zero stars for just that. And happy to go else where. We go to the keys many times a yr and stay at a dog friendly pl that can't believe other hotels that discriminate on breeds. There's just those type of people out there. I wanted to love this place. I really did. We decided to plan a getaway for our birthdays, as mine was 1/23 and my guy's was 1/20. So Friday 1/22 we arrive. The lights were on in our little boathouse and while it was not luxurious, it was quaint and had one side that was all windows. The drapes appeared clean but did not cover the entire windows. No big deal. We closed the blinds and loaded our things in. Later, we walked outside and around the boathouse. The water was peaceful and there was a gentleman fishing. The stars were out and the evening was peaceful. The next day, I awoke and opened the blinds to have some coffee that we brought, along with a quick bite. Given the nice location and the Covid situation, we decided to order dinner to be delivered that evening, so that we could dine casually on the water, relaxing in seclusion. Well, at about 11am that changed. We were lying in bed (not completely dressed) when I heard men yelling to each other in Spanish. Then I heard a blasting radio. When I peeked outside, there was a radio blaring on the chair outside of my window and a man painting. Ugh! I jumped back in bed and my guy asked him to turn the music down, which he did. This went on for hours. We could see him on the edges of the blinds, painting the walls, the seawall and platform around the boathouse. I texted the manager to voice my horror and displeasure. She offered me late check out for the next day. Ummm... So we cancelled our dinner delivery that we had planned and made our way to the office at about 4pm or just after. The man had packed up his painting a few minutes prior and now the POWER WASHING GUY was at it nearby. Clearly the day had been planned to be a maintenance day and we got the privilege of paying for that. SO, at the office, I was met by a maintenance man that basically told me "Well, check out time is 10am so you weren't technically inconvenienced." and then proceeded to tell me "Ma'am calm down, I can't help you. I'm just the maintenance man!" He also added that "Most people are at the each during the day" and that "This maintenance was planned four years ago!" Excuse me... Why rent me this damn boathouse then? We had just had a family death in our household and wanted a quiet, secluded getaway. After my numerous texts and continued aggravation, I was told that I would be spared not paying for the night that I was leaving on. Gee, thanks. I saved myself that fee and paid for a nice hotel instead, where I was treated nicely. I instead had the aggravation of relocation and one wasted birthday. Nobody seemed apologetic or cared about our experience. This will never be repeated. Ever. read more

The resort is ok. The rooms were nice and the location is great. But all the furniture throughout the resort is the reason I'm giving this one star. In the room: - The beds are the futon type top, sitting on a raised frame. No box springs, and very uncomfortable. - the couch in the room has been broken under all three cushions. Each one either leans hard to one side, or sinks down so you can feel the frame and springs. - the bathroom does not come with a hair dryer or Kleenex...Come prepared - the shower head had the pressure of an old school water gun. Takes forever to take a simple shower. - The pillows are the very cheap no comfort, fully stuffed (like a stuffed animal) pillows. We brought our pen, but we still didn't get more than a few hours of sleep due to the noise of the bed, and how unbelievably uncomfortable it is On the resort: - The beach lounging chairs, while very nice they are provided, they are very hard plastic and beer hard to move the back rest from upright to laying down - when laying on the beach chairs, the plastic is so hard, lasting face down, there is no forgiveness for any body shape (thin, thick, large chested,etc). - the grass around most of this place looks like they don't water it at all. It's at the point that they should just put pebble/small rock down in place of grass and at least make it look uniform. The positives: Adirondack chairs under the gazebo were nice, but only 4 of them, so get there early. The beach (gulf side) is quiet, as we are too far from the public access to invade this spot. The screened in patio on the bay (intracoastal) side was nice, and the grass there looked nice. The staff was somewhat friendly. The gentlemen who checked is in late, was very helpful. Overall I would come here again for any overnight stays, unless I brought my own bed, loveseat, & Beach chairs. read more

Amazing Location, Great service! Myself and a friend visited this resort in June. It really is a lovely diamond in the rough. We stayed in the 2 Bedroom VIP Suite. It was newly refurbished and had everything we needed to prepare meals. We called ahead to Instacart and our groceries were all put up when we arrived. We were also happy to hear they installed the best air filter system available and a new air conditioner. We both found the beds and assortment of pillows offered very comfortable. The owner Chris greeted us with smiles and went over the rules and expectations at check in. We did not have any surprise fees when we left as he explained them to us beforehand. The beach was quiet, the water absolutely perfect. The staff came to pick up our supplied linens everyday and replaced them with clean ones. Chris had given us a history of the property and his future vision for this property. He even strategically planted the palm trees. I understand some of the negative review, but the property is in a complete overhaul and will be spectacular when he is finished. It is a premium location and we will be back to enjoy the hospitality from the owner and the staff. read more

Casey Key Resort in Osprey was the worst! My friend had a wedding party and guests staying there because the venue was 3 minutes away. They gave us a room that was already occupied, the resort wasn't a resort. It was more like a motel at best. The rooms were outdated and they smelled, trust me, I went to the other bridal parties room and they experienced the same. They were suppose to shuttle us to the venue that was only 3 minutes away, and on the day, after the whole wedding party was in the van , the driver stated he can only take us to the other resort which was a tads away. We all, had to get out and find a way to get there, only for the manager last minute to come out afterwards to assist when we were all gone. The driver had an attitude. The hotel itself was hot , there were no water bottles in the vending machine! When we spoke to someone about refilling the machine they just stood there. Maybe if the place wasn't so hot, we wouldn't feel the need to be so thirsty. Overall, the staff wasn't helpful, they all made us feel like we were the problem instead of accepting the fact that they couldn't accommodate such a big amount of people and didn't have the right resources. I wouldn't recommend this place for 3 reasons, very over priced for it being a motel , not a resort, the rooms are horribly advertised incorrectly (beachfront view was a parking lot, no beach!), staff is horrible, the place isn't well kept. read more

We've been coming here the last 5 years, since under new ownership, and each visit there's been some sort of update done. I debated whether to leave a review because this resort is seriously a hidden gem that I want to keep secret for us (lol!). It's clean (this coming from a germaphobe), beds were comfortable, and our bungalow was big and well appointed (had everything we could need) and unlike any other "cookie cutter" chain hotel, it kept it's old florida charm! Having both the beach and bay access was super convenient for my family to enjoy different activities like fishing, boating, swimming, and of course our kids' favorite of who can find the best shells and shark teeth :) . I'd say the best part is their amazing private beach! No hunting for a parking space, dragging all our gear and having to push through crowds to find a spot on the beach!! We were hesitant to vacation with COVID, but this place saved our family's summer trip. It was a relief to know we could relax and not have to stress over crowds or germy common interior areas, etc. All the staff are great and are very helpful and friendly. They do a good job of making sure the resort doesn't get overcrowded ( I'm glad they regulate the # of day guests). Oh and the beach pavilion is amazing!! We enjoyed the most peaceful, breathtaking views while relaxing under there, highly recommend! read more

Very happy with our newly remodeled studio. It was a very clean place and everybody there was extremely friendly with an amazing atmosphere. We had the intercoastal on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other side:) what more do you want in a place. They've got everything you need to have a great time you can even pull your boat up here and park in a boat slip. We will be coming back that's for sure! The only thing missing from this being a complete resort in my mind is a pool. But if you're a drinker you probably want a bar too. read more

We stayed in "The Boat House" and the panoramic window view from where the bed was positioned was incredible. This view is what you pay for. However, the place needs desperately to be updated. EVERYTHING needs to be updated. The murphy bed wasn't very comfortable yet that would have been fine if the gap between the head of the bed and frame wasn't so unkept. There were holes from where the frame has dug into the wall and it doesn't look like anyone had looked back there let alone cleaned in I can't say how long. That was disappointing. read more

Looks ARE deceiving. The pictures of the rooms look redone. The only thing your getting is newer bed covers, linens and curtains. But they can hold some not so great surprises. We arrived around 5:30pm Friday night and while unpacking I went to move the shower curtain to put my shampoo and condition in the shower caddy only to have a huge roach fall off on me. I screamed and luckily my husband was able to kill it only to find another dead one under the bed. Not so great start to our very first stay at this establishment. Then we noticed a small puddle of water beside our bed, was it from the AC unit above? Couldn't tell. Then as we go to check to see if we could have a late check out on Sunday we find out they charge you $75 so 1/2 of their day rate. Really are you going to only charge me $75 for Friday since I was almost 5 hours late checking in? No I don't think so. But then as we were packing to leave we find even more water in the bathroom running from the sink to the first puddle we found by the bed. Oh but did I mention it takes over a minutes for your sink to drain and that when you take the shower you get to stand in the dirty water because it too doesn't drain properly? Fun, fun! As we were checking out telling about the puddle we were advised they've known for over a month that the toilet leaks. Oh and guess what you didn't bring a dog and we didn't confirm by asking if you did but we charged you anyway. Really you charged my credit card without my permission $30 a night plus $100 cleaning fee. Not Fair. First and last time we will stay here. Beware of all their added fee's too because we were never advised over the phone when asking about bring a dog about the $100 cleaning fee. You don't have to worry I clean up after myself and my family and dog. The cleaning ladies have very little to do, like strip the bed and wash the dishes. Only because you didn't provide dish soap so I could wash them myself. Everything else was clean. read more
