It's a straight shot, maybe 10 min walk if that to the beach. Walk the other way, you're minutes from the restaurants and shops. We were able to go Caspersen Beach and Blind Pass at Manasota Key easily. Short drives. We drove an hour to Sanibel too. We will definitely stay there again. They had beach sifters for shark teeth, all kinds of beach things you can borrow. Chairs, umbrellas, even bicycles. We love the location and how quaint it is.

We've loved it, the location, & being together to play cards, swim in the pool & ocean.HOWEVER, this year one sister got booted out of our room despite a deposit b/c owner's niece gave 10 day notice of staying there. What good is deposit if not honored. She was given another room not to her choosing or liking since she had 3 grandchildren to share with. We fought for a discount but this doesn't meet the dissatisfaction & disappointment considering our long history of repeated business with the same management. Our family has elected not to renew our business with this location b/c of this, sorry to say. Many of the rooms have not been updated, most of the mattresses of small beds are not comfortable to sleep. In addition, the WIFI in the individual condos is virtually non-existent on the 2nd floor unless you sit outside & what is the point of that at night!

My partner and I rented a home in Venice, Fl. for the months of February and March, 2025…read more Unfortunately our experience was less than we expected as the home was not ready for occupancy when we arrived on Saturday, February 1st. Because it was a Saturday the office was closed and we had to obtain our entry packet through a lock box. Our first problem was trying to enter the front door with the code we were given. The code was incorrect and we spent quite awhile trying to make it work. A phone call to Horse & Chaise was answered by a recording. We went around to the side and were finally able the get in using the keys. but to our dismay the paving bricks all along the side of the house were loose. An orange construction cone was on top. The pavers along the pool underneath the cage were also loose. This was a problem as our 4 and 2 year old granddaughters were coming on the 3rd. We finally got ahold of someone at Horse & Chaise on Monday but although Brian came and took pictures, it was over a week until the pavers were repaired and as we feared our granddaughters tripped and fell. It was several days until the code was changed so we could access the home through the front door. There was a CharBroil gas grill out by the pool under the cage. It did not appear it had been used in some time. It was rusty and the warmest it got was 250 degrees. We used it once after scrubbing it with a brillo pad but our food had chunks of rust and metal on it. We went to Ace Hardware and bought a small grill. Also evident was the cockroach infestation. We killed several. Finally, the bench alongside the bistro table in the Florida room was missing a support rail and was wobbly. We approached Horse & Chaise regarding some compensation for our less than satisfactory experience. We were rebuffed. Think twice about renting through Horse & Chaise.

When I first was able to work with an individual who advertised their unit, I was pleasantly…read moreimpressed. The gentleman whom I rented from had a reasonable monthly rate, and was very accommodating. This was in October 2021, he agreed to rent to me through the end of October, informing me that he would be unable to continue at the end of October, as he had booked for the next several months. He told me this at the beginning of the contract, and we had a mutual arrangement. He was very sympathetic to my case, and treated me exceptionally well. I was certain to leave his unit impeccably clean. However, I told him I wanted to stay for a few months, since the efficiencies were just what I needed. He directed me to the office staff who may have another rental for a longer stay. At first, I was able to secure another rental from Steve. the office manager, who was very accommodating, letting me pay two weeks at a time. I was able to procure a temporary position shortly after moving into unit #58. The unit was the same as the original unit I had rented interns of accommodation; howeverI began to hear the TV from the next door neighbor's apartment being extremely loud, and keeping it on until 2:30AM each night!! By about this time, I contacted the resident the next morning knocking on their door, #59. I was very cordial and explained I was going to start a new job and politely asked if they could keep the TV down especially after midnight.The wife ,'was very cordial as well, explaining her husband "has hearing problems, would inform him of the situation which was done the next night. I also needed to move to unit# 60, which was on the other side of this couple and things went from bad to worse.Not only did they NOT turn their TV down, but continued with blasting the TV down on a regular basis. I discussed this issue with Steve @the office almost daily. He originally stated "we are able to do something about it, as these are considered as a condominium, not an apartment complex." Well , he didn't do anything about it, even when went into the office on multiple occasions to complain, stating "I need to get my rest, as I am now working." Steve was utterly worthless and I reported the incidents almost daily. The police were great and came out to take reports, but could only tell them to keep the volume down, especially after midnight. I know there are very strict rules for condominiums as I had lived in a condo in Florida previously. I even gave the z case # to Steve for the reports I had given to the with the case# that one of them provided to me. I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE which is a shame because it is in a wonderful location and the efficiencies are very nice. We had family reunions there and had over two entire pods purchased for our stay spending thousands at the villas each year. The new Mgr is rude, obnoxious, and we could go on forever as he rushed to judgment on an incident he knew nothing about. The rooms are not updated and the beds are terrible , seems like a throw back to the 70's. The pool is nice and the beach area is nice . The maintenance person is also very nice. However for our hard earned money every year and family reunions we will stay at another location. Wish Marge was back as she made our stays great even with the outdated rooms. What a shame on picking a Mgr who has NO Customer Service Skills ! Do Not Confuse THIS PLACE with Venice Beach Villas , A Classy Place With Great Customer service! July 2019 ..Amazing as he keeps trying to justify why some of the family returned but failed to say 10 family members will not return and the lose of 3 villa rentals , YES from 2017.
