Leon came to where we were, jumped the car, led us to his shop and offered us an amazing deal to get the car fixed so we could be on our way. It did not end there. We had 2 small children with us and Leon went ABOVE and beyond, he loaned us his personal vehicle, helped us move our stuff over and get going to the place we were going to stay for the night. I do not know anyone who does this anymore. We were so overwhelmed and thankful for his kindness. The car was fixed in the morning and we were on our way. I've had a lot of repair work done over the years, good experiences and bad, and I began to notice…read morethat repair shops with no side-business (like selling gas or tires) seemed to do a better job for me. I eventually realized that a pure repair shop lives or dies solely on their repair reputation, so at least in theory, they should have more motivation to do great repair work than a place that can fall back on some other line of business. Hofker's is my prime example of that theory in action, because I've always had absolutely top-notch service there. Every repair I've had them do was done right the first time, and every friend I've ever sent there came back happy. This is still the shop I go to when nobody else can fix something or I just want something fixed right, even though they're quite a drive from where I live. One of the reasons I've always loved Hofker's is that they just refuse to guess at the problem. By the time they call me back on something, I can always tell they've sense-checked their own diagnosis, because when I ask them "but what about this?" they're always able to explain how they ruled that out, and every time I've driven a vehicle away from their shop, the problem is correctly fixed. People tell everyone about a bad experience, but we often neglect to mention when things go well. So I wanted to give these guys a review, because of all the repair shops I've been to, this is the only one that has literally never failed me. If you haven't figured it out yet, I flat-out love these guys, and I'm pretty sure you will, too.
