I have been to Casey's Cupcakes several times over the years so this review is based on my overall experience. I first met Casey many, many years ago when she donated cupcakes to Make-A-Wish Foundation. I was planning the details for a wish that Make-A-Wish was granting which was to take place at the Mission Inn. Casey's team was easy to work with. They quickly processed my request for the donation and confirmed that cupcakes would be provided. Not only did they deliver a beautiful assortment of cupcakes to the venue but Casey showed up personally to meet the wish kid and brought a huge basket of amazing gifts. 5 stars for Casey's generous heart! A trip to The Mission Inn would not be complete without stopping off for a cupcake. Most recently, my family had lunch on Christmas Eve at the Mission Inn so, of course, we had to get cupcakes. I get happy just walking into Casey's Cupcakes! There is always a nice assortment of flavors and the decor is so pink and so cheery. My daughter was excited to find that they offered gluten free and she ordered red velvet. I almost always get a cupcake with coconut. The cake was a little dry but the frosting made up for it. 4 stars for my overall experience of tasting cupcakes over the years. I am a believer that frosting can never be too sweet and you can never have too much of it! I will definitely plan to stop off for a cupcake whenever I find myself in Riverside near Casey's Cupcakes! read more

This place is pretty cute, literally. It's definitely like Legally Blonde meets a cupcake Bakery-- which is definitely girly and cute... I guess. Anyways, I've had their red velvet cupcake a few times already, and I still don't get what is the big hype about these cupcakes. The cupcake here was a little dry, and for $3.50 here & $3 at UCR-- I don't think I'll ever order the red velvet again. However, I do admit the Legally Blonde cupcake was my favorite! The cupcake was fillled with Oreo bits and a WHOLE OREO stuffed into the cupcake. What an amazing idea right?! On top of that, it was covered with a pink and glitterly frosting (which was INSANELY sweet) and a few pieces of white chocolate pearls. It was a bit awkward for a man to eat such a cute cupcake, but it was pretty good-- considering how horrible the red velvet was. Don't try to go when they open; chances are they won't open on time. The decorations on the cupcakes are pretty cute, but the crumb was not moist. If you take a fork to it, it falls apart and then you have to eat the rest with a spoon. Taste is OK, sometimes overly sweet. The style of cupcakes is kind of what younger kids want. There is nothing strawberry about Casey's strawberry cc, it's just pinkish in color. ** The dark and milk chocolate cupcakes - My brother thought it was just alright. If I hadn't mention where this cupcake came from, he said he would have never thought he was eating a gourmet cupcake. He said Casey's cc taste just like a regular grocery store brand or boxed cupcake mix - ouch! I don't think you want him reviewing Casey's cc anytime soon. lol. Granted, the icing he said was a lot smoother to taste than regular store brand cc's. ** German cc and another red velvet. My mother thought maybe she's just spoiled with Crumbs and Sprinkles cupcakes because she did not like Casey's at all. She thought it was dry. She microwaved her cupcakes for a few seconds just to get it moist and she still did not like it. ** After few days, we had 1 cupcake left (the unknown white cupcake with sprinkle), that no one seems to want to touch so off to garbage can it went. Price - 2 stars. The cupcakes we had were definitely not worth $3.50 a piece. Maybe $1.50-$2.00 for the cute decor and signature topper but definitely not for the taste. I really wanted to like Casey's cupcake and for that reason, I'm not exactly writing her off just yet. I am going to give her another try or two... I don't like writing reviews that focus on a single negative experience with a business, so naturally I decided I needed to try more than one cupcake before I wrote a review. The first one I tried was the flavor of the month (April 2015) it was a blueberry cake with a whipped pink berry frosting/filling or something. It was pretty good, and that is why I gave Casey's 3 stars. The cake wasn't dry, which was a common complaint in previous reviews. However, there was way too much frosting. I wasn't a fan of how sweet the frosting was, and I thought it was overly whipped. I scraped off almost all of the frosting, and then it was alright. I'm not a cupcake connoisseur, but I don't need to be to write a review about the second cupcake I tried. It was their peanut butter cupcake. The girl working told me that it was one of her top 5 favorite flavors, but I was so unimpressed! The only positive thing I can say about it is that it looked nice. The cake tasted like nothing.. it was basically sugar bread, and the frosting was worse. I really wanted to like Casey's Cupcakes, but I'm sorry to say that I will not be returning. Went in today a little after they opened. I Was greeted with a friendly "Hello!, welcome to Casey's!" I was asked what I could be helped with and I couldn't decide right away. There were so many delicious looking cupcakes. I decided on the vivacious vanilla cupcake. It was hot outside today and the team at Casey's suggested some ice cream to go with my cupcake. Great idea. They injected my cupcake with some soft served vanilla ice cream. A great pairing. A Must try. Overall great experience at Casey's Cupcakes , the girls behind the counter were very welcoming and attentive, and the place was immaculate. Got some macarons, the cookie portion was good and had the flavor but the filling is just a regular cream, not something to match the cookie really. So I was disappointed there. I've never seen my sister so riled up over food, until she bought these cupcakes. (I mean, the woman is fairly easy to please and will eat just about anything.) In fact, she was so riled up that she wanted to borrow my phone just to write this review and warn everyone before buying these. Honestly, I can't disagree, because this is the second time I've had these at a different location, and to sum it up in one word: disappointing. Gordon Ramsay would have fun ripping these to shreds. So anyway, here's what my sister had to say... I can excuse products that are average, but overpriced because of hype. But these cupcakes were subpar AND overpriced. I was shocked. The cake part was unusually dry, as if it was a few days stale (even though we ate them half an hour after picking them up from the Mission Inn location). I am extra disappointed because I offered these to my guests for my birthday celebration, and I saw them excitedly bite into these sensationalized cupcakes, only to quickly stop and leave them unfinished. The only redeeming quality of these cupcakes was that they were well-decorated; however, these cupcakes were eaten as food, not used as stage props. In my experience working as a teacher and partaking in many kids' birthday celebrations, cupcakes from Walmart, Albertsons, Ralph's, or even made from a box actually taste better and are more affordable. My sister also bakes from scratch and to me, Casey's Cupcakes lack the natural flavor of real vanilla, whipped cream, and butter, and instead leaves me with a greasy shortening aftertaste. read more

I went to Casey's Cupcakes this afternoon on Tuesday, 4/26/22 as I wanted a special treat to share with my family. However, the owners must now be "absentee owners" as the quality and appearance of the two cupcakes (smaller cup cake with 2/3 amount of frosting that use to come with the cupcakes). This cupcake shop is complete trash !!!!! I went in for a strawberry cupcake to find rotten Jam in the middle !! The service was so bad the place is so small and there are never employees besides one person in the front never a manager claims to be on site it's so dirty in there and the candy was super stale . It's over hyped and not worth it . You can make a box cake better and the young lady Becky who helped me would not answer questions I had asked she kept asking her co worker to answer . Wow...shocked at the bad reviews! I decided on my five stars from my first bite, but it only got better when my friend took me to the shop. For my birthday, my best friend brought me a strawberry cupcake. It was beautiful and pink, with decorations. It came in it's own pink-and-white-striped box...a perfect birthday gift (check out my photo)! What really impressed me was that, at a day old, it was moist and delicious as can be. Just yesterday, I went to Riverside to visit my fried. She took me to the shop, which was quite the happening place after their big win on Cupcake Wars. The cupcakes in the window are so gorgeous...and the store is all pretty and PINK, with adorable accessories. They sell cute tanks, aprons, and lip glosses in cupcake shapes! They even sell baby hats and slippers...that appear to be hand knit by local artists. If I lived in Riverside, I would be gift shopping there all the time.
