The service can be a little lackluster at times with some of them being a bit stand-off ish and others being nice and taking time to explain any questions about the drink and food items. I've continued to come and use their tables when I'm drinking my coffee & I've literally had to clean the tables myself on multiple occasions and so has my friend because they are not being cleaned. I see quite a few of the staff just hanging around and they see us cleaning our table and no one offers to clean or take it upon themselves to clean the other tables around us. While this location is smaller than the East Riverside location I usually visit, I love that they offer the same menu. I ordered a 'hot Vanilla Caffé Latte' and the 'Pastrami & Swiss' sandwich. The latte was perfectly crafted with an ideal espresso-to-milk ratio and just the right amount of foam. The sandwich, served on a rye swirl loaf, was delicious...the pastrami, spicy brown mustard, and Swiss cheese were perfectly balanced, though it was toasted a bit too long for my preference, resulting in a crunchy rather than soft texture. I skipped the cupcake this time to balance out the sweet latte. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient, and there is indoor seating available. Cupcake Espresso Bar has been one of my favorite coffee spots in the area since my review in 2022. Today, I used their mobile app for the first time to order 2 drinks, I mistakenly chose one drink to be hot rather than iced. My own fault, I noticed and was surprised, and requested if it could be remade iced. She hesitated at first, then gave me a lecture for not ordering it correctly on the app, the attitude I got from the barista was enough for me to not want to support this business again. Aren't drinks remade all the time? I asked if I could be refunded for the drink, and I'd pay for the right order, she said because I "ordered it like that it wouldn't fall on them to fix it." I again offered to pay for the drink to be remade two more times before she made it. If you're looking to be belittled for a human error on your part, this place is the place for you!! It's a real shame, because every experience and interaction I've had here was great, but this one was enough for me to not come back. read more

I came here to catch up and grab coffee with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. The seasonal menu is located outside and I grabbed a quick look at it before going in when you enter the menu is written on the wall to your left. The inside is pretty spacious with plenty of tables and seats so we were able to sit down right after we ordered. The pastries looked pretty good and I'm thinking about getting them next time! It was a little busy inside with a line, but they were fast at taking orders. There was a little bit of a way, but totally understandable. I stopped in towards the end of October a few days before Halloween. I have been dying to try their cupcakes. I got the chocolate cupcake, a spice cake and their turtle cupcake. My mom and sister both enjoyed the turtle cupcake and the chocolate and the spice cake was great too. It is very cute inside and I love the decor and their menu. You could order coffee as well but I was just in for the cupcakes, they were about $4 each. This is the tastiest and best coffee treat place. BUT. The decaf drives me crazy. I have a pretty bad caffeine sensitivity, but most decaf things don't affect me. Whatever decaf they use here though, is not very decaffeinated. I always get the symptoms of anxiety, sweating, etc. It's not as strong as a fully caffeinated beverage, but there's definitely a lot more caffeine present in their blend than the typical decaffeinated beverage. I do keep coming back, because it tastes that good, but anyone with caffeine sensitivity beware! The tasty tasty drinks will give you psychic damage! (Also, I have a friend who also has caffeine sensitivity, and she's had the same problem I do here, so it's not only me!) You have to go to the register, and let the cashier know, which cupcakes, cookies, danish, croissant, muffin, or cookie you want. Seems to be a chill place, as I saw 3 people in there with their laptops and books, and looked to be studying. If you like croissants that are more crunchy, it may not be for you. Ja'Mocha Ghiacciato: 10/10, perfectly satisfied my blended coffee craving and it was the perfect size and sweetness! Jalapeño Cheddar Croissant: 8/10, also a tasty and soft croissant. I didn't taste much of the cheddar or jalapeño though, but I didn't mind too much. Overall, I see myself coming back here again to get some work done. The total for our purchase came out to around $23. I've had their toffee nut iced late, it was good. Brown sugar espresso was bleh. I wanted to try their ham&cheese croissant, they were out of stock. The service was awesome with the staff being very friendly and quick with my order. I got the iced butterbeer ice latte and I think it is my new favorite coffee lol. The flavors were so good and just what I needed for a morning pick me up. The breakfast sandwich I got was the French toast sausage sandwich and if I would have known how good it was I would have gotten two of those and the iced latte!
