Each time, I have received good advice that I would not have thought of and was able to bounce ideas off of him with some insightful critique. I appreciate the resources he has access to and for the most part, I was able to travel very smoothly with very little inconvenience. However, I would say to still do your own research in travel because sometimes you or the travel agent may have a better idea in terms of logistics. I am happy to support a local business!

I…read moretold my husband, although excited about that opportunity, I did not want to be on a plane for that long to not visit Italy proper while over there. But neither he nor I wanted the burden of scheduling the who, what, when, where and how of adding onto this vacation. Enter Wayne Steffen! I found him through searching for a travel agent on Yelp. His reviews were awesome and folks wrote about how he came through for them when they had issues. (Very important!) From the beginning, Wayne was so incredibly knowledgeable. He gave us several excellent pieces of advice as we started the process. We just didn't know anything about Europe. I was trying to fit it all in the extra 2 weeks I wanted to add to our trip. Wayne gently suggested that we could spend the two weeks in Italy alone and never come close to seeing all it had to offer. So, that's what we did. We gave him pretty much Carte Blanche to arrange where we would go and what we would see. Well, let me tell you, Wayne, pretty much gave us the vacation of a lifetime! It was so, so wonderful! We just followed his itinerary and most everything went off without a hitch! He booked hotels, convenient to the venues, or arranged transportation for everything he scheduled. Florence, Venice, Rome, Sorento, the Amalfi Coast, Naples, Pompeii, Catania. Whew, so much to see, so beautiful, and we are so grateful for all that we got to see and do, thanks to his suggestions! Lastly, I want to thank Wayne, in particular as there were two issues that happened to us, one was the most serious as the airline taking us to the cooking vacation in Sicily changed the flight schedule and did not notify either us or Wayne.) By the time we figured this out and called Wayne, he was in bed and I was bawling my eyes out. But Wayne immediately got to work and found us a different flight to Sicily that would get us there in time to meet our shuttle to the cooking vacation! He's not only there at the beginning to help plan the vacation, but he was there for the problems that cropped up. If you have any thoughts of needing a travel agent, Call Steffen Travel. I have planned international trips and Caribbean trips but thought that maybe it would be nice to have a travel agent assist to take some of the stress away that comes with planning for a group.I used A big chain travel company this year to go to Europe because we were visiting more than one country but my next trip I would just need to go to one destination and full relaxation would be my goal( spa, massage, lush vegetation, etc.) I even asked to inform me if a Special came across her desk to any place with a beach, so that I could consider possibly changing my original plans if it sounded good. You would think I asked her to come get me and take me to the airport the way she spoke. Speaking to her for less than 15 minutes wasn't a pleasant experience. You would think she was reprimanding a child. I understand the frustrations of customer service but we didn't even establish a rapport. I would not recommend using this company. You are better off planning your own vacation and keeping the agent fee for drinks. Being nasty or brash is unbecoming.

PLANES-TRAINS-AUTOMOBILES...& Maria! Now, I have traveled…read morearound the world 3 times already and really consider myself a seasoned traveler. Know all the in and outs.....until my plans started to fall apart while traveling abroad. My wife said no worries, let me call Maria! Where I was on a train traveling from London to Paris and worried because we found out our Air B&B was cancelled at the last critical minute, one call to Maria and not only did she did find us a room, but a place WAY better than the spot that was cancelled. She found better air flights, booked some super cool excursions, booked trains 1st class, and bailed us out of trouble a couple of times on this last trip. Honestly, There aren't words in any language to accurately describe how grateful I'am for her service. I HIGHLY recommend Maria for any traveling needs you may need. Thank You Maria!

I originally was going to book a quick cruise out of LA with my cousin on a last minute invite. The…read moreprices were kinda high online so I decided to check out and see if we had planners near by that might be able to get us better pricing. Maria started off with good pricing and got us pretty low but than my wife and I started to think... been there, done that, do we really want to spend this much and go down to Ensenada? So the hunt for a mini December getaway / vacation started. Like others, we want the most for our buck and since this was a last minute vacation we had a low budget. This was not easy for Maria and she helped us narrow down pricing and length for a warm winter location. We received amazing deals for Hawaii, Cancun and San Diego, as well as other cruises... After a week of us being extremely undecided as to where we wanted to vacation, we decided to go to a location where we haven't been before (believe it or not San Diego). Maria was hard at work for us all week long. Sending us various locations and hotels at Stellar prices! We were really picky (even though the suggestions were great) with a budget and Maria came through with a Hilton resort package, including flight, zoo and a navel tour! We finally made the decision to go with this specific package. Hilton ended up having an issue with accepting payment and the special ended that night ($300 savings). She spent an entire Friday with Hilton telling them what happened and that they needed to match the special from the prior day. Finally Maria Called us back with great news and booked out reservations that evening. Moving forward we will book all our vacation needs with Maria! She provided great customer service. She understood what we wanted, where we wanted to stay and go! She was patient, friendly and very attentive to our emails and communications. She was quick to respond and had not issues with either email and or phone communications. Thanks Maria! we can't wait and we will post some pictures of our lovely December vacation!
