This pawn shop was awesome at first and the people there are pretty genuine. But the way they don't tell you that they "will charge you extra for the graces period" on top of the interest. On the receipt paper it said that it will only charge me 20 dallor extra for the loan so that will be 20% for the amount. Before I left the store I made sure to ask if the number on this receipt was the amount I would have to pay back and a young blond guy said yes and I will get 2 month to do so what's in my head was cool I get 2 months to pay that amount with no other charge. Then When I came in to pay the loan with the amount that I was aware of and that was on the paper . they told me that they will charge another $20 extra fee on top on the amount that I was supposed to paid so it's 40% interest. And I was unaware because first They did not tell me this before I have gotten the loan and it didn't say anything on the paper .!!! I have gone to may pawn shop and this is the only one that don't tell you they will charge you extra on the 2 month/ with grace that is given..If they would I said that they would charge more on top of the interest/ amount for 2 month that was given then I would have left. .This is just bad communication and management in my eyes. read more

I purchased 2 lenses from here. One was a Tamron, the other a Canon. I have never used a Tamron before and I was a bit skeptical how this one would perform. The manager there assured me it should work perfectly and told me to try it out and if it wasn't what I expected he would swap it for me. I should have known that I would get the same level of service that I did at their Kyle location. I walked in looking to see what I could find. They did not have what I was looking for, but did find a Playstation 4 controller. It did not have a charging cable at all and was in descent shape. I asked the guy to make an a deal, since they were asking almost full retail on it. I knew for a fact that I could go to the Video Game place around the corner from them and pay much cheaper that what they were asking. The guy hands it over to the manager who looks at the price at one of the Video Game retailers and tells me he can knock off $5. $5? These are going for $40, free shipping and zero tax at a online retailer. He tried to tell me they "pay much much for these controllers". I caught him in a lie because pawn shops buy stuff inexpensively to resell at whatever they can sell it at. In fact, one of the other large pawn shops in San Marcos sells used controllers for $27.99. He balked at my comment, telling me he had multiple stores. Multiple stores? Excuse me, have you checked your other stores? The reviews on those stores are not much higher than one star. The prices at the place are consumer retail. He had a tube guitar head for the same price you could get it new at the large music store chain. I would be more than willing to shop this store if their prices were better and they were willing to work out deals with you. You cut me a deal on one item and more than likely I will be back. You treat me like I am a fool and try to poke my eyes out with your retail prices, I will not be back. read more

Really rude. I started off with a very warm hello and continued to be very nice. As the experience continued, it just got worse. I was trying to sell a laptop and a tablet both in good condition, but they didn't even take time to look at it because they had a lot of each item, which I totally understand. As I was leaving I politely said thank you for your time..... No response. I followed with have a nice day.... No response. Awesome customer service and a wide variety of products from guns to fishing poles & jewelry, etc. We had purchased a gun from a gun store in the area. My husband had made a mistake on the form you have to fill out & they refused to release it to us or give us a refund when we had already purchased it. The jerk at the gun store advised us that they would release it to a licensed pawn shop after a background check was done. We went to Cash Box Pawn and they helped us so much! They didn't charge us for the background check...they knew how much b.s. we had gone through! They told us once the form is filled out you are supposed to ask the customer is everything on here correct & go through it with them, there is such a thing as human error! Once everything came out ok they went out of their way to pick it up from the gun store & called us when everything was ready. I would recommend this shop to everyone!
