We were sitting out in the parking lot area and saw what we believe to be one of the owners showing up AT 10 AM. In my personal opinion if you're open hours start at 10 AM then you should be open and ready to do business at that time. We walked in about 10:05 AM as we wanted to let her get in the door (and someone followed her in). We had to buzz to get in. She was already saying something through the speaker at us, but we went ahead and walked in the door. Without any greeting she said I won't be ready for 10 to 15 minutes ! Why don't you go over to Starbucks and get a coffee! And then said "Do you have an appointment?!" We immediately turned around and left! Her tone was rude, she could've addressed it so much differently like could you please give me a couple of minutes? Everything seemed abrupt. Like we were putting her out because we wanted to come spend money at her store. I have not needed an appointment to look at jewelry for a possible purchase anywhere before. Needless to say... I will not be walking through their doors again. We already had another jeweler that we use on Alma school and Queen Creek Road area that we've been more than happy with for purchases and repairs! I met Elka, one of the owners and she shared that many of the pieces are made in house, I could see the workstation of the artists in the back. After sharing with her what I was looking for she helped me start to try on different pieces. The issue wasn't finding the " right " piece it was settling with just one! Alas - decision made I left with this gorgeous necklace handmade in house! I also saw so many other incredible pieces- a mosaic watch, festive earrings- you name it! My two most important rings had been just sitting in my jewelry box; my wedding band that is engraved and a birthstone ring my Mom gave me for my 21st birthday. I had asked about putting the wedding band on a necklace with links around the band instead of looped through the center of the ring. After a few moments, David said he had a better idea. He wanted to drill through the band and thread a chain through. Plus hang a stone to showcase from it. That pulled in my Mom's ring. I'm absolutely in love with the end result. See picture. I like that it's a secure building but still with an air of welcoming. The agent who assisted us was very kind and friendly. They were able to complete the service in an hour - which she had said it would be. They have a very comfortable waiting area with water, tea, coffee and a TV where you can control the channels yourself. The whole facility was pristine - even the bathrooms. We waited there the whole time and even though my toddler was trying to destroy the nice people's place (I did not let him), we felt comfortable the whole time. Another agent even came over and entertained my toddler for a few minutes which I thought was so sweet, because he really did not have to. I really appreciated them being able to help us out right away and get us on our way quickly.

1 Star -- Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience at E.D. Marshall Jewelers, especially because my family has been doing business with them for three generations. On March 7th, I had an appointment to have my Rolex appraised. Sergio assisted me and provided two options: an outright purchase price or a consignment price. I chose to consign the watch based on the information he gave me, including his assurance that he believed the watch would sell within about a month. When I left my Rolex with them, I was given an extremely generic receipt. There was no detailed description of the watch, no itemized breakdown, and no clear consignment terms--literally just my name and a handwritten quoted price. Looking back, I should have questioned this immediately, especially considering the value of the item I was leaving in their possession. One month turned into more than five months. By August 15th, my watch still had not sold. What made the experience even worse was the lack of communication. I would email Sergio and sometimes go weeks without receiving a response. When you entrust a business with a Rolex, you should not have to repeatedly chase someone down just to get an update. Before picking up my watch on August 15th, I asked Sergio if E.D. Marshall would honor the original outright purchase price I had been quoted in March. He declined and offered me approximately $2,000 less, telling me that gold prices had gone down. I found that explanation extremely disappointing, especially since my original appraisal and consignment involved a Rolex watch--not simply scrap gold. When I arrived to pick up my watch, Sergio was there. After more than five months of waiting and poor communication, I expected at least some acknowledgment of how the situation had been handled. Instead, he simply retrieved my watch and sent me on my way. This is especially disappointing because I'm the third generation of my family to purchase jewelry from E.D. Marshall. There was a history and level of trust there, which made this experience even more frustrating. Unfortunately, that relationship ends with me. Based on my experience, if you're considering selling or consigning a valuable watch, I would recommend going somewhere else. Five months of waiting, little to no communication, inadequate paperwork, and then an offer $2,000 below the original quote was a complete waste of my time. E.D. Marshall is not the business I remember it being, and I will not be returning.
