Grieving families deserve patience, respect, and understanding--not sales tactics. Our experience with Cashner was disappointing and added unnecessary stress during an already painful time. Less than 24 hours after my father passed, the representative began a fast-paced sales presentation while our family was still in shock and barely able to process the loss. Being pressured to make permanent decisions without empathy was overwhelming . The interaction felt rushed and transactional, with little compassion shown to our grieving family. Having to advocate for basic empathy while planning a parent's burial is unacceptable. I strongly encourage others to request a different representative before making any final decisions. Our initial representative was John. After we requested a change, Chrysten was assigned and was wonderful to work with; however, this occurred after all decisions had already been made, and we did not meet her until the day of our father's celebration of life at the church. After spending 4 hours there for presentations and selecting a cremation package we headed over to the burial site. The funeral side and burial side are two separate packages. We picked out our plot and package and just as we were about to sign, they said oh these prices aren't correct. After quoting us one price all through the walkthrough of pricing, they left the room to talk to the general manager and when they came back, the price doubled. I felt like we were in a used car dealership. We left buying nothing. It was a bait and switch. read more

My Mother passed 12/23/22 during the fridgid weather and the holidays. Cashner stayed open so I could get her service details done and scheduled between Christmas and New Year's when our family had to return to their homes and work. Jordan worked magic to make it happen! I had to submit obituary before midnight to get it started the next half day! Jordan was pleasant, knowledgeable, and made sure every detail was covered! My Mother got everything she had requested and more! Service went smooth as silk and as she's buried next to my Dad and Grandmother, I highly recommend the professionalism, care, and compassion Cashners has shown our family over the years. This review is only for the cemetery. Sadly the past few years the maintenance of the grounds is terrible with weeds encroaching over tombstones. Trimming is no longer done around the tombstones and even after a mow weeds are missed and sticking up. The fencing is rusted and in very bad condition. This used to be such a well kept place. I come to Conroe at least once a year to visit my parent's grave. It looks like they are giving up on perpetual care. Sad. read more

We've had the unfortunate experience of planning three funerals in four years. Each time the staff at Cashners Funeral Home has been wonderful. Lynn Oswalt has assisted us all three times and we've been blessed by his kindness and compassion. I attended a funeral at Cashner last week and was stunned when I saw the body of the deceased! I stood there looking at the body for a very long time trying to determine if it was actually the person I knew. The hair and makeup were very badly done. And, then, the funeral director gave his instructions to the pall bearers following the service in front of the entire congregation. I had never seen that done before and it seemed unprofessional and anti-climatic after a beautiful service. I have attended many funerals that were handled much more professionally by the funeral director and staff. The only reason I gave a 2-star rating rather than a 1-star is because the facility is very nice and was very clean. read more

I can not begin to describe my Dads funeral... other than perfect. For a funeral. The staff at Cashner Funeral home was absolutely amazing. Our experience with them started hours within finding out about my Dads passing. I called right at 8 am and they allowed us to come in immediately to begin the planning process. We had a Catholic funeral and because of church policies could not have the funeral for several days..(Sunday/Monday) there were Knights of Columbus members in one holding area and grieving family and friends in the chapel and they catered to everyone... perfectly. We had some personal requests, due to the age of the same children that wanted to say goodbye to their Grandpa and they didn't bat an eye with the requests. We know who we will go with to plan our future funeral arrangements... as weird as it sounds. They made this first death in our immediate family as pleasant as it could have been. Do not use their services. They got my mother's information wrong in the newspaper and it was printed wrong on the bulletin we were passing out at her memorial service. Yes, they fixed it, but after the fact; this only gave me a correct copy to file away but everyone who came to the service was given incorrect information. Also, I overpaid for her cremation and was sent a small refund check. When I went to cash it, there were insufficient funds to cover the amount. It took several tries before I could cash a small check for less than $20. Now, three years later, I was contacted by a bill collection agency that I owed the full amount for her cremation. I have a "paid in full" receipt from Cashner's. When contacted, they told me it was a computer glitch. This whole thing has been messed up from beginning to end. I am writing regarding a lovely woman who kept herself fresh and clean and well made up at all times. I was shocked ( to say the least) when I walked up to her casket and saw a tired and sad looking woman rather than the lovely lady I knew. I was very distressed and angry. I know she paid a great deal of money to be buried so her children would not have to worry one bit about her funeral and yet money, money, money was their only motivation. Customer care in times of grief is difficult in the best of times but with these folks it's minimal....all we heard was "don't you want this it only costs $-----" or the service and burial are all prepaid but do not include these necessities. These will cost $----". And then this, her looking very unkempt. Her hair was not fixed, her face was not done. And everyone in the family as shocked and dismayed as I was. I have since heard (through the grapevine) that they send the bodies out to have their hair and face done. Well, I would certainly consider finding someone else to do this as I have heard ( also through the grapevine) that there have been many complaints from other families about this same thing. From there, all I can say is I would never choose this funeral home to do anything for me or my family, and I will and have passed on this story to others. Sad! This was always the hometown funeral home that people trusted and just knew they were going to use at some point in their lives. Very sad and disappointing. read more
