Crane brûlée- the only good thing we ate
    Dave G.

Just came for dinner with my girl, I ordered the chicken breast stuffed with cassava. The shell was ok but the chicken was bone dry. I spit half of it out! My girl ordered the mahi mahi. It was ok but lacked flavor in my opinion. We had the creamer brûlée for dessert...that was delicious. Also ordered tap water. The waitress forgot and brought bottled water. Told her when she bright it out that we wanted tap and she realized she made a mistake but left the bottled water there. Then she charged us 6$ for the waters. The view was nice from the top but that was about all the good this place had to offer. Food was mediocre and although the bartender and server were friendly, the service was slow and our waitress made mistakes and charged us. Would not return

Great please. Food was amazing and I highly recommend trying the chicken cassava. My wife had the Mac & Lobster and there was no shortage of lobster in the Mac. Our waitress was the best. Very attentive and friendly.

The appetizers (empanadillas) were a good touch. The churrasco with mamposteao was also delicious. On the other hand, the pasta with ropa vieja (translate to old or dirty laundry) was acceptable. The cheesecake was the afternoon disappointment. However, location and the view to the Main San Juan Bay Area with the Castillo del Morro on the back was amazing.

Nice spot. Gets busy. Rooftop bar is a nice change of pace from the rest of the "bars" around here. More upscale.

The bacon wrapped chicken stuffed with cassava was out of this world !

The food is unique and delicious! Our waitress was wonderful and paid great attention to detail. The restaurant has a casual vibe and the views of the beautiful bay and the fort are a plus!

Drink is a Tio Chuco. Woodford, bitters and spice syrup

I never had a bad drink here out of the two nights and many drinks had. The layout is amazing with multiple rooms, bars, and DJs. Anything from techno, pop mixes, to latin. One room, the main area had salsa, dancing, and music and eventually at 9:30 PM a live salsa band came on. That was a whole lot of fun however it was very crowded. The second room had a nice house music going on. There was a bar and a DJ and it was not as busy as the main area was. And the third room was the bar that leads to the outside called La Cubanita, which was playing mellow lounge music with a tropical beat. The food at La Factoria was definitely overrated and just OK. I did not think it was worth the price and I probably would not eat there again. None of us really liked what we ordered, but we ate it because well... We were hungry. They do offer a wide range of beverages from your standard beer, wine, and top shelf brands, however, they are known for their own concoctions. All of the drinks we ordered were delicious. Overall, we had fun, and it was not too pricey for the beverages. I don't think that I would ever go again, especially not later in the week as it is so busy, and we went on a Monday and we were dancing cheek to cheek!!! Enjoy!

The goat fricase's sauce was amazing. It was full of flavor and eating it with the rice and beans was a joy. The cod was perfectly cooked and was delicious. Then my favorite was the pork chops. They pre-cut it for us since we were eating family style. The skin was so crispy and the pork was so flavorful, I smiled the entire time I ate it. Service was very good.

I started with a drink that resembles an espresso martini, but very inspired by the locality. We shared cassava baskets filled with ropa vieja and some local cheese. This was incredible but I did find the cassava shell tough to chew. My main dish was the catch of the day, which was snapper (absolutely delightful!) the snapper was served with a dollop of mashed potatoes and tostines! Everything here was incredible though I did find two of the tostones tough to chew. Dessert was bread pudding using Mallorca bread with coconut and guava alongside a scoop of ice cream. This was a bit of a let down, but still wonderful. Service could be better? We did feel like everything took a long time due to the waiters absence. Otherwise, this place was great! Do come!

The vibe was great, the food was fresh and well made, and the service was friendly overall. A fun bonus: we actually got to see the famous rock band Maná dining there, which was such a cool surprise! We ordered quite a bit--the chips and queso, chips and guac, hot sauce, tamale, rice and beans, kids cheese quesadilla, and veggie fajitas. The kids' quesadilla was a huge hit with our 5-year-old (who is a picky eater and devoured it). The veggie fajitas were decent and tasty, though for the price I would have liked a bit more on the plate in terms of sides. There was a small hiccup where cilantro was accidentally added to one of my dishes, and it did take quite a while for the corrected dish to come out, but they were very kind about it. That said, everything else was enjoyable and the overall experience was still very good. Overall, a great spot for solid Mexican food in Old San Juan with a fun atmosphere and fresh flavors.
