Staying at their accompanying hotel to chill a bit before heading and this is our second time here. Not for lack of options but because we actually like it! Popped in last night for happy hour and stayed for a couple hours and enjoyed the sangria and the most delicious caramel iced coffee (shout on to Jean!) Came back the following day for some breakfast which was fantastic. On deck we had: Chicken and waffles for three, croquette monsieur and the french toast. Lots of mimosas and more delicious delish coffee. A standout was also the ginger lemonade was top tier! Our waitress Tamara was a gem! The food wasn't bad at all. However, the service was a 3 out of 10 at most. Sat at the table for so long without anyone asking or offering water at least. The bartender became our waiter, as the actual waiter was lost. My rating would be lower if it wasn't thanks to the bartender. Place tries to be low key cool, but it's just plain and empty. I was a bit worried as the last review was from 2 years ago, but we were pleasantly shocked. We decided to end our PR trip with a stop at Emigrante Gastrobar and decided to have a Tapas shared dinner. We had a nice variety of Tapas plates; Charcuterie platter, Fish tacos, Sear steak crostini, Tuna tartar, Chicken wings, and Corn beef empanadas. We really enjoyed these and were surprised by the Sear Steak Crostini and Tuna Tartar which were very good! Surprisingly the one dish in our opinion that was lacking a little was the Corn Beef Empanadas. They just felt like they were missing a little spiced flavor. We enjoyed some local beers, Sangria, and a really awesome custom cocktail made by the bartender. We had an amazing wait staff named Ninoshka. She was super friendly and helpful and spent some time answering questions. I would definitely eat there again! read more

First timer. For dinner I had the Jibaro: pork, fired cheese, potatoes, rice, sweet plantain. I thought it was al separate but it was not. It was ok but somehow the flavors did not complemented each other. The rice and cheese was unexpected and it was good. The sweet plantain added its sweetness which was good. Diss appointed by the very limited amount of pork. I think the "issue" was the disproportion of the ingredients. Each bite was different. White Sangria: very good!! 4.5 stars. My overall rating is b/c of lack of pork and disproportion of ingredients. read more

Very nice place to eat. The Food was great! Genesis was our waitress and she took great care of us. She was pleasant and new the menu very well. She also recommended a great local beer by Ocean Lab Brewing Co. it was great. The ambiance and decor was very cool. I had the chicken Pad Thai and it was amazing. We decided to try out the hotel restaurant and weren't disappointed. It was brunch and there was a special that included for mimosas. I opted for the steak and egg dish (I can't remember the exact name but the brunch menu is very short) and it was delicious. The steak was huge and I'm still not sure how I ate all of it. It also came with ceviche that added additional delicious flavor. If in Puerto Rico or staying in the TRYP Wyndham definitely give emigrante a chance. The brunch is fantastic. Twice I've been. First time I got the chilaquiles, it was fantastic! If you order extra chips they will gladly bring them to you. I ate here 2 days in a row as I was staying at the Tryp hotel. They had an abundance of food both days but they charge $16.95 for a buffet. Also: the second day the skinny waitress started talking about me in Spanish to the other waitress. They also conveniently forgot to get me anything to drink but every person that ordered in Spanish got his or her drink. I would stay away from this place if you are a tourist that doesn't speak Spanish. Even speaking Spanish I would recommend going somewhere else. We ordered a whole mess of tapas. Our waitress Maria was really down to earth and funny. Great food and service overall. My personal favorite was the croquetas, but the table preferred the pork belly montaditos. The octopus, pork tacos and fig flatbread also deserve a mention. My least favorite were the cigars (I don't like fried stuff); my parents loved them. The way they bring them out is unique though. Avoid the chuleria drink unless you enjoy really sweet cruise like drinks. The margarita was the best drink on the table, but all the other drinks were good (mule, whiskey cocktail) The only thing I'd say is that the tapas were a little on the pricey side, but compared with surrounding restaurants it falls on the average range. Food: Very good and unique dishes. We really enjoyed the short rib dumplings, tartare and the fresh fried sweet plantains. The sirloin was cooked perfectly. We had the pork mini-tacos (amazing!) the Morrocan meatballs (solidly good) and the fig flatbread (omg delicious). I tried mofongo for the first time during our visit and i fell in love with it. So as i was looking at the menu, I asked if they had any mofongo and she told me no. They were also offering a buffet for guess. Our scramble eggs, ham and bacon were serve from the buffet as a la carte item.
