Wow! This is a gem in old San Juan and I highly recommend it. They use sugarcane and real fruits in their drinks. The drinks were absolutely amazing. Divinely a great place to stop by once you're done eating in the area. The ambiance and design inside is neat and the server was great, he also gave us a taste of their pina colada, delicious. Absolutely nothing this place can do better! 5 stars and highly recommended

What a great find! We had just finished walking around the old San Juan wall and found this place on the way back to the ship and so glad we did. Their drinks are made with fresh ingredients and for a tourist area, the prices were very reasonable. We ordered top shelf Margaritas which were amazing and then after seeing several people order their pina colada, we had to try it try one and loved that as well. I would probably rank it the best pina colada I've ever had. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!!

We stopped in for a quick Mojito and we loved it. I had the Passion Fruit Mojito and it was an elevated experience. The ingredients to make the drink were so fresh and good. It was a hot evening and the Mojito went down really good. The bartenders were excellent. I will definitely go back and try other items.

We were thrilled when we finally walked through the door again after wracking our brains to remember our favorite spot in Old Town. Upon entering, we were greeted by a young woman who, mentioned it was her very first day as an assistant to the bartender. Despite being brand new, she was warm, engaged, and genuinely welcoming, excited for us that we had made it back after several years, and impressed with our efforts. Shortly thereafter the bartender on duty approached us mid-conversation, visibly irritated. When I mentioned that we hadn't yet decided on drinks but were being well taken care of in the meantime, she interrupted sharply to bark at us that she was the bartender and the ONLY one who could help us. The tone was unwelcoming enough that after a moment, my companion and I determined that we would prefer to move on and left without ordering. The atmosphere is truly special, and it deserves to be matched by the experience guests receive at the bar. Our experience was simply not the vibe that night, and I truly was disappointed FOR the new hire who was doing what she should in engaging us until we could be served. I sincerely hope to return on a future visit to San Juan and to rediscover the experience that first brought me back to La Grieta.

We were seated quickly on the patio, which had a great atmosphere, but one member of our party was engaged in a losing battle against the local bird population. These weren't your average birds politely minding their own business--they were running coordinated food-theft operations and dive-bombing tables like tiny feathered pirates. Seeing the concern, the staff graciously moved our group inside without hesitation, which we really appreciated. Service took a little while after that, but the place was busy, and they'd already accommodated our last-minute relocation due to the ongoing Bird Crisis of 2026, so we were happy to relax with a few beers and cocktails while we waited. It's been a while, but if memory serves me correctly, we ordered Fish Bites, Rum Chicken Bites, and several other shareable plates. Everything was delicious. Even our notoriously picky son cleaned his plate of fries, which may be the highest rating our family can award. ‍ The inside of the restaurant was almost an attraction unto itself. Everywhere you looked there were interesting knick-knacks, old rum bottles, antiques, and random treasures. I could have spent another hour just wandering around and inspecting the cabinets. Part of me wishes we could have stayed on the patio because the energy outside was lively and fun. Maybe next time we'll be a little braver--or at least better prepared to negotiate with the birds. Overall, the prices seemed fair for a popular tourist destination, the food was excellent, and the staff was accommodating. If I find myself back in Old San Juan someday, I'd happily return

There was no wait for a table, but it took a good 10 minutes for the waiter to even come to our table. Drinks took about 5-7 min, which isn't bad. We ordered dinner and the wait began. 20 minutes after we ordered, my wife's dinner came out, but mine didn't. She finished her food in about 10 min, my dinner still hadn't arrived. We waited another 30 min (1 hour after ordering) and my meal still hadn't come out. Our waiter never checked on us, never offered us more drinks, never apologized for the wait. After the hour, I walked up to our waiter and told him we were leaving. They did remove the food that never arrived but they didn't seem the least bit apologetic. For a first impression of Puerto Rican service and quality, I would never recommend this place.
