I cannot speak for the quality of the construction, but like a number of other reviewers, I can confirm the communication was horrible. Upon the initial consultation Gina ran late, didn't take any notes on our requests and I then had to chase her down just to get the bid. I should have trusted my instinct and left it at that but rather than pay Studio Shed, I wanted to support a local business, thus I sent Gina my deposit. The typical process of communication was Gina telling me she'd do something: schedule the start date, order windows, provide me info on a AC unit to purchase, confirm she received my deposit, etc. The task would then not get done, and I'd have to chase her up via text or phone call. The final straw was on December 15th when she told me she was going to order custom windows so we could start our project the last week of January. Fast forward to January 25th (the day the project was supposedly going to start) and I find out she never ordered the windows, and they will take 6-8 weeks to arrive. Meanwhile my garage is filled with flooring, a HVAC unit and lighting that I ordered in December. Once again, I cannot attest to the build quality as I asked Gina to refund my deposit, which she did....after I chased her up. While Gina is very nice, she is very disorganized and always seemed flustered. These are not good traits when you have to manage projects and timelines. That said, I found another local shed company to do my project and the difference has been night and day: clear communication, punctual, same cost per square foot and I couldn't be happier with the end result. read more

They were amazing to work with, and it shows in the final result - my beautiful backyard studio office. I can't believe it's mine! With transom windows, french doors, and a sloping roof, it's the she-shed of my dreams! They are communicative, organized, detail-oriented, warm, smart, and have strong values around quality. Even after I had written my final check to them, Richard asked Eric for a paintbrush to touch up something on the side of the studio exterior that I would have never noticed. This is a family business, and Richard, Eric, and Gina, were all spot-on in their delivery of services. It was a big deal for me to spend the (very fair and modest) sum of money on this, but it clearly raises the value of my property so it's a great investment. Update, downgrading 1 star from my previous review. Like another reviewer below mentioned from San Fran the leveling has been off now. I did put a lot of heavy items on one side of it but the real problem is they didnt build a solid foundation. Stupidly on my part I noticed this when they were building it and didn't question them. I assumed they knew what they were doing and it would hold up but it hasn't. They just lay concrete blocks on top of the dirt and build on top of that without sinking anything in the ground for a good base to prevent sinking. The door still functions fine but its obvious the shed has sunk a good 1-2 inches on one side and is now putting pressure against my fence which is bowing out. Hopefully it does not get worse. read more

We wanted to have a storage shed built and I found them online. Early Jan of this year, Gina came over to my house and gave me a quote for a 6x10 shed. After I paid my 20% deposit, I was given a date of end Feb for the shed to be built. Unfortunately due to rains, my shed got completed first week of April. Even though it took longer than I hoped for, we are very happy with the final product. Richard and team were very respectful and professional and got the shed built within half a day. The initial quote was for a 6' high wall, but since they could not get the doors that matched they built a 7' wall shed for the same price, which was very nice of them. Just had a shed/studio built in my back yard by Richard, who is the owner of this company. The shed is fabulous and since it has been raining, I know it is airtight, no leaks. Although he promised he'll get a quote to us that same day, there is still nothing 2 weeks later. He seems like a nice guy and the sheds and pricing are great online, but the lack of response is extremely unprofessional. We had Casita Sheds replace an old 10 X 12 metal shed in our backyard, and we couldn't be happier with it. There's a reason you go with a company that focuses on building sheds...they have the experience to do the job efficiently and with excellent quality. Their quote was extremely competitive, and we were very comfortable dealing with Richard. He's very honest, hard-working, and takes pride in the quality of his work. Once we scheduled the job, everything went very quickly. The old shed was torn down and removed in under an hour, and the new shed went up in a flash. I wish all our construction projects went so well! It's been about 9 months since the shed was completed. No problems with it at all. No leaks, no gaps, no problems with the window or door either. I recently put a pool in my backyard and really wanted to add a cabana style bar to go with it. After doing a lot of researching on the internet I found the perfect solution, I wanted to build a bar shed. I contacted Richard and gave him my idea over the phone. He came out promptly to give me an estimate. We wanted a shed that was not the same old cookie-cutter Home Depot/Lowes shed that everyone has. There are limited choices for affordable custom built stuff. We shopped around at all of the usual suspects ( shed shop in Fremont, Tuff shed, some place out in Modesto), when we found Casita sheds online. The reviews were few but Richard ( the owner) has a couple models built on a lot in Castro Valley that you can go see. The construction was at least as good as the Shed Shop, and higher quality than a comparably priced TuffShed. We called Richard and he came to our house for a site survey and to discuss what we wanted. He was very informative and professional, and couldn't have been more agreeable or easier to work with. There was absolutely no perceivable element of the "salesman" attitude. We had questions, he had answers, we had requests, he had accomodations. We wanted a couple of non-standard upgrades which he accommodated for a surprisingly small additional price in relation to the amount of additional work required. Things like ship-lap siding and shingles that fold over the gable ends. Richard and his helper arrived on site for the build on time with a no- nonsense, professional demeanor. He initially told us the build would take two days, and that is exactly what it took. From laying out the floor to nailing the last shingles and painting the last bit of trim, they knocked it out in two days. After they finished cleaning up you would never know they were there. Now we have a terrific looking, solidly built shed that I have confidence will last as long as our house. It's a real asset to our property and I'm glad we decided to go with Casita sheds.
