The crew is incredibly fast, efficient, and honestly, just really trustworthy. We ultimately decided to expand the project into a full remodel, and even with the additional scope, the updated price remained very reasonable and close to what we had originally expected to spend. Once the project started, everything moved quickly and smoothly through each phase. Communication was timely and responsive, which helped keep the project moving efficiently from start to finish. I met with more than five contractors and from the start, Yovel proved he had experience, a point of view on what would work for us, and an easy going manner. LB's quote was fair and they were upfront about potential change orders or other costs that might come up (not surprising for such an outdated bathroom!). Throughout the project, Yovel kept me updated on progress and sought my opinion when different options were available on how to proceed. In one instance, he came up with a great way to cut the tile so I could avoid paying for a whole extra box. The updates were particularly important for me because I didn't stay at the house during this renovation, because this was my only bathroom. I called DiBlasi Restoration and spoke with Frank DiBlasi, the owner of his independent company. He met me at the house the next day and assessed the situation. Thankfully he was able to send his professional two-man crew the following day. The two men were efficient and clearly competent, perfect for the task at hand. The bedroom issues were easily resolved, but the bathroom is where they really succeeded. Not only was the mold wiped and removed, the surrounding tile grout was scrubbed and shiny like new. A nice touch by these guys. After a weekend of dehumidifying Frank took air samples in each affected room and sent them to an independent lab. All the tests passed with flying colors. I would recommend DiBlasi Restoration in a heartbeat. Frank has been at this for several successful decades and is righteously confident in his methods and protocols. On top of that, he's just decent business owner who is fair and square with his customers.

If you're dealing with water damage or remediation work, you quickly realize how stressful the situation can be. Frank stood out because he was incredibly knowledgeable and transparent throughout the process. I was so overwhelmed due to the extent of the damage but he took the time to explain what was happening, what needed to be done, and why. He may not be the cheapest option out there (although still reasonable priced!), but you get what you pay for. The level of professionalism, honesty, and expertise he brings is worth it. What I appreciated most is that it genuinely felt like he approached the job as if it were his own home. He was focused on actually fixing the problem the right way, not just doing the minimum or up charging you for unnecessary work. If you're dealing with water damage or remediation issues, I highly recommend at least giving Frank a call and getting a quote. Even just talking with him will give you a much better understanding of what you're dealing with.

Their bid was 30% higher than 2nd bidder, and I didn't negotiate for a competitive price because I wanted to see why they offered it at that range (a test trial for them), and they seem very interested and sincere in my pergola project (replacing 1 post, 2 beams & paint, etc.). Chris was the main contact and he was a great person to talk to. He gave me some ideas on how and why those materials were chosen while executing a safe and secure worksite. The crew included 2 carpenters (Chris was 1 of them) and a painter. They kept their tools well organized and maintained. They agreed on all of my contract terms and conditions. The carpenters worked patiently with dedication on the premium redwood post and pressure treated wood beams. They worked on a light shower rainy day. Everything was great. However, the paint job needed to reschedule for a dry sunny day. The painter did a fair quality job on the part that connected to my eave and post baseboard. Over painting without placing a masking tape to set the boundary between 2 colors. The paint skill and mindfulness are in doubt. I had to clean up those spots afterwards. Yes I agreed with the painter's saying "Nothing is perfect in this world." However, his statement also telling me that paint job was barely meeting a standard practice in my project. Suggestions: 1) invest in masking tapes (protective and appealing are essential to excellence). CRV Carpentry has been honest and responsive throughout my project.

I have given GMBC numerous attempts to fix the leak over the past 3 years, but the leaking persists. Two other companies have determined that GMBC did not do the work required to fix the leak and used improper materials. Moishe is the manager and refuses to resolve the issue. Horrible work. Horrible experience. Do Not Use them unless you just want to waste money!

A Nightmare Experience with GMBC: Poor Craftsmanship and Unreliable Service…read more Hiring GMBC for our renovation project was a terrible decision. The experience was a complete nightmare, with their shoddy craftsmanship and unreliable service leaving me deeply dissatisfied. We worked with Moshe and had numerous conversations about the quality of work but he did not care. The project initially estimated to take three months, dragged on for over a year. Here are the major issues I encountered: 1. Poor Quality Craftsmanship: The work done by GMBC was riddled with errors and executed in a sloppy manner. The foreman was rarely present, and when he was, he consistently overpromised and underdelivered. Their lack of skill and attention to detail was evident in poor flooring install, uneven paint jobs, and a complete disregard for precision. A few examples of their subpar workmanship, but by no means comprehensive: -A small deck featuring cracked spindles/railing. The wood was so discolored that we paid them more just to try to cover it up, with the end result looking even worse. -We paid them thousands to level our floor and install flooring, but the end result was warped and bouncy. After we pointed it out, they suggested drilling holes all over our new floors and trying to glue everything down. -A sliding shower door installation that was unlevel and featured a half inch gap all the way around. It was so bad that we couldn't even shower in the room without the bathroom filling with water. There were several issues such as drill marks and permanent marker drawn all over from where they made errors trying to install the first time. -We paid them to install soundproofing on a shared wall with our neighbor. Moshe himself noticed there was absolutely no change when he came over to check on the things, and could hear our neighbor's music as if it was in the same room. There was no suggestion on how to resolve or make the situation right on their end. We ended up paying thousands with absolutely no result. 2. Unreliable and Unprofessional Crew: The crew assigned to my project displayed consistent lateness and unprofessional behavior. The foreman was rarely around and the crew was often on break, resulting in wasted time. Their lack of professionalism extended to a disregard for my property and basic safety protocols. They installed a stacked washer and dryer without the provided stacking kit and when we were told it was ready for use, the washer ended up walking itself out of the laundry room and into a wall, further damaging the unit as well as the brand new floors we had installed. GMBC's reluctance to take responsibility for their mistakes and their laborers' inability to perform as professionals further added to my frustration. GMBC did eventually reimburse me for the dryer. 3. Missed Deadlines and Extended Delays: Despite GMBC's promises of efficiency, the project suffered from poor planning and an inability to adhere to timelines. The extensions of the project disrupted my daily routine and caused unnecessary delays. Inspections were missed multiple times, leading to wasted time and frustrated inspectors. I brought this up to Moshe and he told me the guy was in his car for one of the inspections and didn't see the inspector ring my doorbell. How is that acceptable? 4. Dishonest Practices: GMBC exhibited a lack of honesty and integrity throughout the project. They lied about placing an order for a specific closet door, stating that the one we had requested was out of stock but when we called the store ourselves, they had 5. GMBC just didn't want to admit that they had made a mistake. We had a similar scenario with the original shower door that they had installed where a subcontractor they sent to replace the original door stated that they had installed it incorrectly. Their poor record-keeping was evident when they failed to provide complete receipts for reimbursements. Additionally, they attempted to charge me for something I had already paid for. 5. Lack of Design Sense: They failed to deliver work of which they could be proud and omitted showcasing it on their website or social media. The solutions provided for an eyesore firewall and poorly done concrete work in the driveway were unsatisfactory. Their lack of effort to find acceptable options and costs left me disappointed and seeking help from other contractors. On top of everything, I was pregnant when the project started and then had a newborn when they were still working at the house. It was an absolute nightmare and so stressful. Moshe's attempts to fix things later were too late, and the inconvenience wasn't worth it. Eli got involved towards the end and seemed reasonable when it came to deducting items on the poor work that was done. My husband ended up fixing a number of things after they completed the job. Overall, my experience with GMBC was a disaster. Their lack of professionalism and poor workmanship make them a company to avoid.

We went through a few contractors before coming across Jose from East Bay Home Improvements. In our first meeting, Jose was courteous and went through all the project details. I never felt being pushed into something as he listened patiently to all our requirements. After a few days he came back with the 3D designs for the space, which was very helpful to visualize. We worked with Jose to make some changes in layout and he was prompt in make those amendments. Once we finalized the design, we were quoted for the work. One thing I really liked that Jose provided quote with a detailed breakdown of material and work. Work started a week after we signed the quote. With the material: I shopped around for kitchen cabinets but couldn't find what we were looking for. So I got help from Jose and went with him at some of his recommended stores and finally landed up with what I liked. Jose also went above and beyond to find the exact tv panels as none of the online stores in US were having it. Now, with the actual work: Their team is very nice, courteous and always on time. There were some finer details that were missed at times, but when I brought them up they ensured it was addressed promptly. When it comes to timeline of the project, they did it fairly in time.
