This was our first experience working with a general contractor for a fairly large project -- a bathroom addition to our house. Overall, we are quite happy with the outcome. I am giving a 5 star review despite a very big hiccup in the project -- they had to revise the cost upwards by 20% just before they started work. That was certainly an unpleasant surprise. However, I would still say they did work at a reasonable cost compared to other contractors. Bar was a good project manager -- he kept us up to date on all the work, and scheduled according to our needs. Whenever there were (minor) delays to the project, I feel like I knew why it happened because Bar called and updated me. Overall, he had told me he expected the project to take 6 weeks before work had started, and they finished in 8 weeks. I think that's quite reasonable given some delays were caused by parts I needed to order. The bathroom has come out quite nicely, and we are happy with the work. Infact, when we were unhappy with the tile work, Bar sent another person to re tile the entire shower without any issues. I would use Skybar again for any future projects. read more

Anthony and Bar were absolutely fantastic. From the moment they came to give me an estimate, I could tell this was the right company for the job. I really wanted to get my kitchen project done as quickly as possible, and Anthony assured me he'd do his best to make it happen. True to his word, both Anthony and Bar kept me in the loop every step of the way and planned everything out carefully. As they started the demo, we discovered there was a mold problem under and behind the kitchen sink. Anthony immediately told me he wouldn't feel right going forward with the remodel until the mold was properly treated. He made sure we understood the situation, so I called in a mold remediation company to handle it. It turned out the mold issue was pretty serious, so I'm really grateful we took care of it. I want to highlight this because, although the team could've finished my kitchen within the original timeline, they were willing to delay a few days to make sure everything was done right, which meant a lot to me. Throughout the project, I made a lot of changes, but Skybar was so patient and made great suggestions. They even went above and beyond with a few extra things. Before choosing Skybar, I got a few other quotes, but they were by far the most reasonable, and the quality of the work they delivered was exactly what I wanted. Honestly, I wish I had met these guys three years ago when I did my bathrooms with norcal remodel group. I would've been much happier spending my money on the high-quality, reliable service that Skybar offers. A big thank you to Anthony and Bar. This is all about: PLEASE AVOID Skybar Construction to save your precious time and preserve your mental health from this UNPROFESSIONAL & HABITUAL LIAR outfit. Mistakes happen, and they can be forgiven, BUT NOT the lies Skybar Construction repeatedly made up. Do the mistakes made by Skybar Construction have an effect on the property owner's business reputation with his tenants? What about the ongoing business relationship between the property owner and his tenants? Have these errors resulted in unnecessary wasted time for both the tenants and the property owner, including the property owner's unnecessary travel time? Additionally, the property owner was legally required to provide tenants with at least 24-hour notice for any expected access -- on a Sunday -- by the property owner and Skybar Construction. NOT only was Skybar Construction a NO-SHOW at an appointment on a Sunday, its staff requested it. Skybar claims 2 additional lies by stating its staff spoke to the property owner, explaining why the staff could not attend the appointment, and claiming a phone call was made, but Skybar Construction could not leave a voicemail. Bar, the Project manager explained everything, including the best and worse case scenario's of possible occurrences that would increase the price. Skybar demolished an old deck in my backyard that was in bad condition and constructed a new deck of high-quality/good-looking composite to replace and expand it, even dealing with some tricky shape/design challenges to accommodate existing plantings and flower beds. Work was completed on schedule (in about a week and half after construction commenced), communication about timing and activity was excellent, the job site was left good as new, and the price was fair and reasonable. Amazing!!! I needed a LARGE REDWOOD DECK (1000 sq ft +) modern cable railing put up, with 2 new stairs, sanding and staining. The wood had been sitting there for years from an unfinished job and had turned a depressing gray.... Anthony struck me immediately as professional, trustworthy and passionate about his profession, with reasonable and transparent pricing and payment plan. Within days of signing the contract he had a whole team of workers over and finished the job in 1.5 weeks when it should take 3 weeks or more. All this when he had a new baby due! The craftsmanship is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and safe, up to code....I can't say enough positive things about this company. Usually you have to compromise on either COST, TIME, or QUALITY. But not with SKYBAR-you get all three!!! That is, reasonable cost, short amount of time, and HIGH quality! I am so in love with my beautiful redwood deck and it is such a RELIEF to get the project completed after a bad experiences with another contractor. It is very hard to find someone good that is willing to undo shoddy work and fix things up...but that did not deter Anthony! And he went above and beyond, like fixing my gate, and hauling old wood away. I recently had a large party on the new deck and my guests were VERY impressed with how beautiful it is!!! We hired Skybar to remodel 2 old bathrooms. We really like Kelli and Anthony which is why we hired them, especially because they are honest and want to do their best. We definitely had problems on our project, from not passing inspections at first, having to redo tiling, poor painting, and more. We don't really know if it was just the 2 workers on our project or what. Many times they did some work and then they had to redo it. After passing final inspection, m husband went into the attic and under the house to check on things since we were no longer able to assume everything was done right. The vent pipes were loose in the attic and not attached to the roof. There were 3 holes in the roof where the old vents were. There was a badly attached pipe under the house which was not flowing properly which had to be replaced. We have done numerous remodels and this was by far the most difficult and stressful. I don't know if they had too many jobs going on because there needed to be much more supervision. The final product is ok, not great. As I read so many great reviews, I wish I could write the same accolades. I like Anthony and Kelli and wish I could give them 5 stars, but, as I think they'll agree, this was not one of their stellar projects. read more
