My husband and I were in town (visiting from Canada) for a convention and tried Caspian. The food was absolutely delicious (I had a chicken shawarma platter and he had a chicken shawarma fattoush) and the service even better. Being Canadian my husband likes plum sauce, and the owner actually left the store to go to another place to get it for him as they didn't carry any in the restaurant. Very thoughtful & we'll be back the next time we visit Ypsilanti! The restaurant itself was pretty standard, nothing extraordinary or fancy, but it was clean & the vibe was friendly. read more

Food decent. Got kebabs & baba ganoush. Later tried lubia polo and kashk-ebademjan. Like most Mediterranean places, they provide far too little pita for their dips, leaving you with a heap of hummus or must o'kheyar and nothing to eat it with (except a spoon I guess). Very fast food vibe - paper plates & plastic forks. It is a small shop which also serves as a store, selling middle East specialties such as date candy, preserved quince etc. Service iffy. First time a sullen unresponsive teen. Second time a workmanlike, stern (but friendly) older man. It's super convenient to the Marriott Eagle Resort which is nice. I will come here again. read more

This place is in the location right off of huron and 94. It's located in the plaza right next to Leo's Coney island. I have always wanted to try this place out because I do like Mediterranean food.. I was greeted by the clerk when I entered and she was very friendly. she explained the different menu items that I had questions about. I end up ordering the chicken swarm. Plate. It comes with strips of chicken, rice and garlic butter sauce. The chicken and rice were definitely tasty. It's always a plus when adding the garlic butter sauce onto it. They give you plenty and it is overall good meal. I do plan on visiting again. read more

We ordered several items for pick up, but when we arrived, we found out that they were out of falafel, so they couldn't make the main dishes that we ordered. They refunded us the cost of the main dishes, but not the tax & tip that we paid. So we ended up paying an extra big tip & extra tax for worse service. The items we *did* get were average. I tried this place based on my friends suggestion but unfortunately, didn't find it to our liking. Placed order through Yelp take out, food was ready on time. We ordered Chicken Shawarma Plate, Chicken Sandwich, Grilled Chicken Salad and Falafel. The Chicken Shawarma was served with plain rice, bland tasting and seemed lacking flavor. Chicken was well cooked but as the rice was plain it did not combine well. Really it could have been better. Chicken Kabob Sandwich was okay but kabobs were very bland. The sandwiches were sloppily put in their boxes with all the filling mostly out side the wrap. Grilled Chicken salad was absolutely tasteless, the chicken was remarkably dry. The only saving grace for this place was their Falafel. Not like the regular falafel though, shape was flat and was bit oily. Prices are reasonable but big fail for a Mediterranean place. I gave two stars because I hate to totally trash a place after only one visit. Would definitely recommend getting your Mediterranean fix elsewhere. You need to go inside the store for pickup. I needed something quick but delicious. I remember this from a previous visit but nothing specific. I decided humus and bread along with just a chicken skewer kabob. The chicken was so flavorful and the veggies well prepared. The humus was very good too and it was a nice enough portion it could have been shared. The rest will go in my hotel fridge for tomorrow. I spent $20.00 for these two items to go, so I wouldn't say it was cheap. But I don't mind paying for good food and this was food! The restaurant was just too cold to sit in so I took it back to my room. Only a 15 minute wait which is reasonable for what I ordered. What do you cook when you don't feel like cooking? You order carryout! So tonight I did decided to try this Mediterranean restaurant in a strip mall near my home. They have been open a while, I think about year, maybe longer. So since I haven't tried it I decided to give it a whirl. I went in at 5:30 and there was one other person waiting for carry out. There was no one sitting at the tables. There was a special tonight, but one chicken Shawarma get another one for a dollar off. I was very tempted to get that as I do love the garlic sauce on a chicken Shawarma but since I had chicken in the refrigerator at home, I decided to go with the kubideh sandwich. I ordered it with a small side of fries. The sandwich and the fries were $10. I the sandwich is beef with onions, tomatoes and sliced beef (not ground meat). I brought it home and proceeded to eat. Looking at the menu it does say it should have a sauce on it. Maybe there was, I don't think so, I was sort of looking for something creamy like the Shawarma sauce but there was nothing like that in my sandwich. You can see in my pictures. The french fries were actually my favorite size of french fry. Not teeny tiny thin like a McDonald's but not a thick steak fry. I sort of in between. I don't live that far away but they were a little mushy by the time I got them home. So the sandwich wasn't terrible. It was just OK. The fries were hard to judge because they were slightly cold and weren't fresh out of the fryer. I really want our local restaurants to succeed, so I'm going to give the chicken Shawarma a try. Maybe if I ask for extra sauce that will make me happy. read more

Now that I've been here more than a dozen times, I feel really confident about this 5 star review. The location is great, the atmosphere and decor is great. Very clean, very modern. 3 big TVs, 1 will always have whatever game is on. Fast service, no complaints. The food is phenomenal! My personal favorite is the E2 Chicken Cornish Kabob, absolutely mouth watering good! My second favorite is E5 Chicken Barg, very flavorful! It was my first time trying their food, so I ordered the lunch special which was the chicken sandwich BOGO deal. The wrap was hot on the outside and cold on the middle. They grilled the tortilla and didn't grill the meat. Also, it was lacking pickles, so it was cold and tasteless. I know it was their special, buy one and get a second one for $1.00, but both sandwiches, in my opinion was not worth a dollar. I will never go back again. read more

Found this place when in town for a girls' weekend with my besties. It was a recommendation from our AirBnB hostess and I am so glad we drove a few miles out of our way to sample the food at Caspian. I got the chicken platter with hummus and tabouli as sides and it was perfection. Serving was so large I got three meals out of it. The baba ghanoush is to DIE for, perfectly smoky so I know the eggplant was roasted well. This place also has an amazing selection of Middle Eastern, especially Persian, boxed and canned goods. I came home with a box of cardamom tea and some delightful hazelnut wafer cookies that I cannot wait to try. read more

All of the food we've had has been really good but the pita is so inconsistent. We have only ever ordered take out here, so I can't vouch for dining in. But the norm is about 10 stale pita strips. Once we received a full bag of warm fresh pita, and another time we received a small handful of dark brown pita strips with sesame seeds on them that were more like crackers. Caspian is not a typical middle eastern place (no grape leaves or other typical offerings) but the presence of even more interesting seasonings and berries and nuts and sauces makes this one fantastic Persian gem. My go-to is the seasoned chicken (all white meat) kafta with a side of saffron rice and little tart barberries added. They make the best fattoush salad in the area. The chicken kafta is just as good as a schwarma sandwich and they use fresh, chewy pita bread. Get a side of cucumber yogurt dressing- it is fresh made! read more

Great Persian food close to Ann Arbor! Only about a 10-15 min drive. Just hop on I-94 and it's right off the exit ramp. We got the family platter. The chef is actually from Rumi's, another Persian restaurant in Michigan. So you know the food is good. Their koobideh brought back the feels so definitely make sure that is your first choice in picking something to eat! Pitcher of Doogh was good. Would buy again. I think it could even be better if it were carbonated. Family platter included hummus (great texture) and large plate of salad. Within this strip-mall eatery is a true Culinary Talent. This place is Persian. Perfectly Persian. I ordered the lamb shank dinner on a very cold, blustery evening (28 JAN 19). I dined with my mom and kid brother. All of us were very happy and quite pleased with the array of our order. The food is first rate. Fresh and adroitly prepared. Relatively inexpensive, too. Please, don't allow the restaurant interior to deceive. It's occupying a space formerly the site of a Rio Wraps. The interior is emerging in its apportionment. Clearly, anyone familiar with Persian dining has experienced the expanse of graciousness and warmth of the hospitality found there. Both the owner and our server were simply outstanding. Helpful, thorough and really hit all the high marks to assure great satisfaction with our dining experience. This restaurant merits patronage. read more
